25 The Training Begins (Part 1)

The next day before sunset, the yacht finally reached the coast of Nuport in Albasea. The storm had washed the streets and had now left them clean and sparkly.

"Finally," Yasameen told Mohamad. "I'm so grateful for your help! Thank you so much!"

"You're welcome," Mohamad replied. "We are going to have lunch now, do you want to join us?"

"No, it's okay. If you need anything from me later on, call me," she stated. "Here is my number."

"We will call you," Donia assured her. "But are you sure you're not hungry?"

Yasameen nodded as she exchanged phone numbers with Donia. While they were busy doing that, Malak came over to them.

"Will we ever see you again?" Malak held Yasameen's hands.

"Maybe someday," Yasameen answered. She smiled at everyone and then turned around and walked away.

"Okay then," Louis said a little loudly. "Take care!"

"She was nice," observed Donia after Yasameen had left. "I hope we see her again."

"She's pretty," Louis admitted.

"What?" Donia shook her head. "That was unnecessary."

"What about the weapons?" Badr asked. "Where do we put them?"

"We'll leave them in the ship," Mohamad answered. "After we finish eating, we'll buy some bags and put them inside."

"What will the sailor think?" Donia questioned.

"It's fine, I told him that the weapons are for us, not for the kids. It took a while, but he finally believed me," Mohamad replied.

"Let's get going," Wael reminded them. Mohamad nodded and motioned for everyone to follow him.

"Guys, follow me! We are going to have lunch in this restaurant," he pointed to a nearby restaurant. Two cubicles of bushes stood on both sides of the entrance door. The door itself was made of fine glass and surrounding it was a wall that had a menu on a lighted screen glued to it.

Once they stepped inside, they stood for a few moments to comprehend what was around them. The atmosphere was giving off an orangey feel especially from the lights in the ceiling. They paced further inside on the tiled woody floor searching around the round wooden tables. Soon afterward, everyone sat down on the leather chairs.

There were five chairs at each table and the whole group consisted of thirteen members so they had to sit separately. Badr, Yousef, and Yahya sat with Mohamad and the girls sat with Donia, Wael, and Murad. On the third table, Louis, Bilal, and Jack were seated.

The music was low but still sounded fun. Jack was so soaked into the music that he started grooving in his seat.

"Stop dancing!" Louis whispered to Jack. Jack ignored him and began tapping on the table with the palms of his hands.

"Stop! Annoying kid!" Louis checked around if anyone was noticing Jack. "Where did you learn your manners? Stop dancing!"

"But the music's good," Jack argued. A while later, a waiter approached the group and gave them menus.

"So, what do you want to order?" Mohamad asked Badr.

"Everything looks good! I want everything!" Badr examined the menu. Yousef gawked dreamily at the dessert section of the menu.

"I want fish," Yahya announced without even glancing at the menu.

Mohamad laughed. "You kids are funny."

After ordering their desired food, Mohamad nudged Badr and whispered: "Come with me."

"Huh? Where?" Badr asked as Mohamad dragged him out of the restaurant. After they reached the sidewalk, Mohamad stopped walking. He had to do the right thing.

"Look, Badr, about your shoulder," Mohamad started. "You got hurt because of someone I brought in. It's my fault."

"No, no, don't apologize! It's fine, it's not your fault, and I'm not hurt!" Badr replied, surprised.

"No it is. I'm really the one to blame. I decided to tell Murad to leave right now," Mohamad declared. Badr watched him enter the restaurant again.

'It's not even his fault...' Badr thought, following Mohamad inside.

"Murad! Get out!" Mohamad shouted as soon as he set foot in. Some people sitting nearby gasped. "How dare you do that to one of the students! Your excuses and what Laith told you mean nothing to us! Why would you do that to an innocent little kid? Are you out of your mind?"

"Mohamad, wait after we go out of the restaurant so we can settle this!" Donia was trying not to make a scene in the restaurant.

"Wait till when? When he first did that you told me to wait till we reach Nuport. Now we are in Nuport!" roared Mohamad.

"But Mohamad-"

"Aren't you working with him?" He turned to Wael. "Badr has a whole life ahead of him! Leave the kid alone! You are guilty!"

"Stop!" Louis stood up and held Mohamad from hitting Murad, who was silently sitting down, finishing his food. Wael was very confused as to why Mohamad was blaming him.

"Please, sir," a waiter dressed in a black suit headed over to the scene. "You cannot do this here."

"He can't do that to Badr! It's unacceptable!" Mohamad struggled to control his temper. "I need to, I need to report him to the police! Or I'll handle this WITH MY OWN HANDS!"

"You guys can leave," Donia instructed the kids. "We'll get you something to eat, come on."

The students left one by one, glancing back at Mohamad before they exited through the designed glass door.

"My dad is not normally angry, but when he is, he'll punch anyone in the face," Yasmin informed her friends.

"He's scary now," Malak confessed.

"Okay," Donia took out her wallet. "What do you want to eat?"

"I want sweets!" Yasmin exclaimed.

"Hmm," Donia traversed around the streets that were full of shops. People were coming in and out of multiple different stores located next to each other. "How about the bakery? Let's go see if the bakery has anything sweet."

Donia led the way to the nearest bakery and the kids trailed behind her.

"Well, that Murad guy better leave." Jack put his hands behind his head.

"He's a creep," Yousef proclaimed.

"True," Noor agreed.

"And a stalker," Yousef continued, placing his palms in his pockets. The group finally reached the bakery, which was situated near the end of the street.

"What do you guys want?" Donia offered.

"Donuts! I want donuts!" Yasmin peered at the food that was behind the glass cover.

"Okay, I'll get three donuts and a box of pizza for the boys," Donia motioned to the seller. After she paid the seller, she distributed the food evenly to the children. They all thanked her and began eating their food. She ordered them to sit on a bench while she went back in the restaurant to check on the men.

"Does anyone want a donut?" Noor inquired. "I want a pizza. Can anyone trade with me?"

"I'll trade," Yousef said gratefully. He gave her his pizza when she passed her donut over to him.

"Did you eat from it?" Noor inspected the pizza slice. Yousef shook his head, munching the donut.

"Your mom is really nice," Malak swooned to Yasmin.

"Hmm? Yeah, she is," Yasmin took another bite of the sugar-coated donut.

Half an hour later, the adults came out of the restaurant. It seemed like Murad and Wael were leaving, while Mohamad was looking a lot calmer than before.

"Well, we'll be going then," Wael stated. He smiled at Yahya, who just stared at him.

"But I want to meet your boss!" Badr insisted at Murad.

"Our boss is not available. He's in Zuenor right now," Murad replied. "Also if you need any medical support, contact us."

He handed Badr his training center contact card.

"Oh...when will he be back?" wondered Badr. His shoulder was aching but the cloth stopped the bleeding.

"In the summer."

"Okay," Badr sighed.

"We'll let you know when he comes back to Rimor," Wael added. "He'll explain everything to you. It's probably something related to your father, I'm not too sure."

"My...father?" Badr said, bewildered. Murad and Wael took one last look at everyone and then left shortly afterward.
