Chapter Twelve
Stan awoke from his drunken slumber, hating himself as he struggled to get out of bed. He doesn't remember being drunk in his life, but if he had, he must've been a lousy fool. He was able to get to the door, thankfully, but another problem presented itself: how was he going to get to the bathroom? Stan's head was hazy, so he couldn't remember where the bathroom was located. The drunken mess of a boy walked, thinking that the bathroom was across the hall, but his footing wasn't even close to acceptable. Stan stumbles near a door and collapses, opening the door wide. He fell into a room, beseeching it to be the bathroom. With all the strength he could muster, he stood up and scanned the area. It wasn't the bathroom, and Stan wished it was because his eyes saw Crave and Daren naked and huddled up close. Stan started to panic, but with one wrong move, Daren could wake up and kill him. Stan backed up slowly, but again his footing was off, and he stumbled, falling to the floor. Stan closed his eyes, waiting to fall and wake up Daren so he could eat him alive, but he realized he hadn't fallen yet. He opened his eyes and saw Katty using her magic to levitate him in the air, telling him to shush as she slowly took him to the bar.
"Daren and Crave they were," Katty said, covering his mouth before he said anything else.
"Yes, they had an intimate time together last night," Katty said, making a drink.
"I saw Daren naked. He has a human body with human skin, he was covered in bite marks and scratches," Stan said.
"He's a lycan, not a werewolf," Katty pointed out.
"Not to mention Daren and Crave; I would have never thought about them hooking up," Stan said. Katty nodded in agreement.
"It's surprising but not uncommon in the supernatural world. Many creatures have fluid sexualities and relationships. I knew there was something; Daren is a ruthless hunter, and his sole priority is his pack; the only reason Daren respects me is that I care about people and help around, and the only reason Crave could convince Daren to give him something like a red string that can show you where anyone is located despite being known for being untrustworthy is that Crave got to Daren," Katty explained as she handed Stan a drink.
"Thanks, but I think I'm still drunk." Stan declined the beverage.
"It's to help with hangovers," Katty explained as she pushed the drink towards him. Stan took a slip and immediately spilled his drink.
"What exactly is that?" Stan solicited.
"A virgin Mary," Katty said as she cleaned up the mess. "It's a non-alcoholic cocktail made with tomato juice and other ingredients to help with the after-effects of drinking," Katty elaborated.
"Do I have to drink all over it?" Stan asked.
"Of course, sweetie, I don't like seeing you in such a sorry state," Katty said.
Despite the taste and smell of the drink, Stan drinks it as he is afraid of what would happen if he did not. He felt better after finishing and remembered the bathroom. He could use a hot shower to calm down. When you spend your day training and avoiding death, you need to relax, and Stan no longer has to worry about dying now that the Lycan mess has been cleared up. Stan examined the auras of Crave and Daren. He predicted to see green but instead saw their auras combining like a rhythm of yellow and blue, reluctant to merge yet dancing around in a harmonious relationship.
"Do you have someone who cares deeply for you?" Stan asked
"My parents love me deeply, and my grandma does too, and maybe someone else, but I never returned his feelings," Kat answered.
"I hope I can have that as well," Stan expressed his desire.
A raven with slivers for eyes flew through the window and landed on the doormat. Katty opened the door and grabbed the crouching crow, who began to transform into a familiar raven-like ally.
"Work on your landing next time, Slick," Katty said.
"Katty, as always, you are stunning," Slick said, cracking his neck.
"What brings you here in the first place?" Katty inquired.
"I needed to talk to Crave; my ravens observed him coming here," Slick explained.
"Sorry, Slick, he's still sleeping and hungover," Katty explained.
"Do you mind me waiting here?" Slick asked
"Slick, are you alright? I can tell you're troubled by something, "said Katty.
"A group of individuals attempted to attack me, but my ravens distracted them long enough for me to flee," Slick explained.
"Do you have any idea why they attempted such a stunt?" Katty enquired.
"Yes, and that's why I need to talk to Crave; luckily, my crows aren't seeing any of them right now," Katty explained.
"If that's the case, I'll wake him up right now," Katty said.
"Like I said, my crows are keeping an eye on them; I just need to rest for a minute," Slick explained.
"Alright, I'll get you something to drink then," Katty said, grabbing a soda for Slick.
"Hey, Stan," Slick said.
"Pardon?" Stan appeared puzzled.
"You fought a pack of Lycans and came out on top; you have some powerful magic," Slick said.
"Thanks, Katty, for training," Stan said.
"I heard you don't know much about your past; I think I can help with that."
