Chapter Ten

Crave resumed doing street performances two days after settling the loan with the Lycans. He was putting money aside to assist Stan in finding a new home to live in. He was thinking about letting Stan stay with him so Kat would have a place to stay in case someone else experienced a magical awakening. However, Stan should remain with Kat because she has a larger room while Crave only has a one-room flat. But the worst is over, and now he and Katty must get Stan back on his feet. Crave went to Katty's tavern after finishing his work for the day. Coming in, he noticed Katty working and serving guests with the assistance of Stan. Crave took a seat and waited to be served.

"What can I get for you?" With a smile, Katty said to him.

"I'll take a brandy with no ice, but don't fill it up all the way," Crave replied.

"If you want a blue dragon, I am more than happy to give you one," Katty remarked.

"Nah, I'm saving up to help Stan get a house," Crave said.

"I got him to help me out in the bar," remarked Katty.

"How did you make that happen if he doesn't know anything about mixing drinks or alcohol in general?" Crave inquired.

"He's cleaning cups and putting ice in them, and I decided he should help out since he's going to be here for a while," Katty explained as she handed him the brandy.

"Okay, but you can summon a Yeti to help you." Crave stated.

"Yes, but they get weak in the heat, and I don't want to risk harming them, so I'll wait until winter," Katty explained.

"Yeah," he responded, sipping his brandy and observing Katty's smile.

"What exactly is it?" Crave asked.

"I'm proud of you, because keeping a promise and paying a debt isn't something you normally do," Katty added.

"Well, it was either that or face both Daren and your wrath, and I'm more afraid of you than of him," Crave said.

"I'm proud of you nonetheless," Katty stated.

"I'm guessing you're not going to send me to the drowners?" Crave stated.

"Perhaps, it truly depends," Katty responded.

"Are you going to send drowners on that guy who is harassing Stan?" Crave pointed to an intoxicated man who was wrapping his arms around Stan's waist.

"My apologies, sir, but I'm not into guys," Stan responded uncomfortably attempting to move but being pushed back by the man.

"Look, I'm not going to take no for an answer, and you're a cute little thing, so give it a chance; maybe it'll awaken something inside you." With his hand on his inner thigh, the man said. Stan saw his aura as brown as dung, urging him to paralyze the poor fool and run, but he was frightened of causing a scene. Before anything else could happen, Katty grabbed the man's shoulder and yanked him away from Stan.

"You need to leave," Katty said.

"It's nothing, Kitty, we were just having fun," the man explained.

"I don't care," Katty muttered as Necorli's tentacles grabbed and flung the man out of the bar.

"Thanks...," Stan remarked.

"Are you okay?" While grasping Stan's hands, Katty talked in a breathtaking, compassionate tone.

"I'm fine," Stan said, nodding.

"You don't have to continue if you don't want," Katty explained.

"It's okay, I want to," Stan replied.

"Well, if someone touches you, you'll stun them," Katty warned.

Stan nodded, and everything went back to normal. Crave drank a few strong glasses as well. It was a great change of pace for the three to focus on their job at the bar without worrying about the Lycan's approach. Crave placed the money he had saved in a box after they were finished, and the three sat at the bar drinking the Blue Dragon.

"So, how's the drink?" Katty inquired of Stan.

"It's hot but not spicy, and it's sweet," Stan explained.

"That's a blue dragon for you," Crave declared.

"That reminds me, Stan." "I've got a few things for you," Kat stated as a box arrived on the table.

"What exactly is it?" Stan wondered.

"Open it," Katty instructed. Stan opened it, and the box included clothes, as well as a notebook and a phone.

"This is amazing, but I can't," Stan said.

"Oh, don't worry, your poor heart, these were donated to me when people heard I had another person who had an arcane awakening," Katty explained.

"Did they do that for me?" Stan inquired.

"Well, yeah, we are a community, and we respect and help each other out," Crave explained.

"Funny coming from the asshat that steals from the community," Katty said.

"I see it as taking advantage of what you have," Crave explained.

"I had never had a phone before," Stan stated.

"I got you a prepaid one with minutes, so you wouldn't feel bad about me giving you so much," Katty explained.

"Thank you, and how about the notebook?" Stan inquired.

"You mentioned that you had lost your memory." "I was hoping you'd be able to help yourself recover if you wrote about everything you remember," Katty remarked.

"Oh smart, maybe we can piece together your pasts to help you regain your memory," Crave remarked.

"Perhaps," Stan responded, "but I don't remember much about my past."

"Do you want to talk about it?" Katty inquired. Stan nodded and took a big breath, but they were stopped by a tap on the door. Katty stood up and opened the door, showing a Lycan Alpha Daren.
