Chapter Nine
Stan and Crave were drawn into Qoaldin's realm. This time, however, the spider god stood in front of them, waiting. Stan could feel his aura. It was pearly white, as if encrusted with the world's finest ivory. Despite the fact that Qoaldin only had a pleasant aura, Stan was afraid. He felt the same terror when the orb transformed into an eye and stared down into his soul. Looking at the orb, he noticed something wasn't quite right. The orb, which had a green toxic aura before, now had a solid golden aura, like a Greek shield. Everything felt overwhelming, and the burning pain he felt during arcane diffusion irritated him.
"Are you in possession of it?" Qoaldin asked.
"Yes, we do," Crave replied.
"Show me!" Qoaldin stated. Crave tapped Stan on the shoulder after noticing him having a mini freak.
"You okay?" Crave whisper.
"No, I'm not okay. I'm... sorry. It's just divinity spiders. That was unexpected," Stan said as he held up the orb toward Qoaldin. The golden aura reverted to its original green color, and the orb reformed into an eye.
"Nuara, what a sad sight to see you in; too bad it gives me pleasure to see you like this; you used to be such a powerful goddess, but now you're weak and sad in a ball of magic, unable to do anything but watch as you fade away." Qoaldin mocked, reaching for the orb, but Stan resisted.
"Give it to me right now!" Qoaldin demanded.
"OK, but before we proceed, I'd like to know if you still intend to keep your promise," Crave stated.
"What you want, magician, is my web strings, not my wisdom, not my advice, not even my words of encouragement, no, you just want my webs, my disgusting red webs," Qoaldin explained.
"Do we have an agreement?" Crave asked.
"I'm nothing more than a spider of his word," Qoaldin declared.
"Wonderful, you now have complete control of the orb," Craving said, Stan approached the spider god with the orb in his hand, but the orb stared back, causing him to freeze. When he turned to look at the orb, the green aura had turned back to gold as the burning pain inside him flared up once more. His eyes became completely white, and his orange aura interacted with the golden aura. As if absorbing it, his orange aura began to take the place of the golden aura. The golden aura quickly vanished, leaving only the eye and the green aura.
"What exactly was that?" Crave inquired, but received no response. Before toxins started bleeding out of the eye, the eye began blinking and hopped off Stan's hands. The thing grew bigger and bigger while it stared at Qoaldin until it exploded, revealing a massive scorpion goddess.
"You cretin!" The Goddess slammed into the spider god with her stinger, attempting to poke out his eye. "I was imprisoned for decades, and you planned to mock me for it."
It's even better now that I get to take revenge for the trick you played on my white webs. You understand what I mean? Qoaldin encircles the scorpion goddess and yanks her off of him.
"Is that what this is all about?" The Goddess remarked as the webs started to dissolve due to the venom that was erupting from her stinger.
"Don't act so shocked, Nuara," Qoaldin said as he wrapped more webs around her in an attempt to subdue her, but the venom she created melted the strings.
"Get over it, Qoaldin, it happened eons ago," Nuara said.
"Don't tell me what to do, you'll forever stain my reputation with these red webs; it may all be a game to you, but you have no idea how many lives you ruined just to have fun," Qoaldin argued with the scorpion goddess. As the deities fought, the ground shook endlessly, with red strings falling down as the place tore itself apart. The door appeared in front of Stan and Crave as they watched the battle.
"Go, Take my webs and leave; no moral should witness this "Qoaldin stated. Crave grabbed some red strings as they walked out.
"Thank you for releasing me; I will never forget this," Nuara said as the two walked away.
"That was intense," Crave said.
"Certainly," Stan agreed.
"Crave!" Daren jumped on Crave while holding a knife to his throat.
"Wait, are we really doing this?" Crave stated
"Is that the last time you'll fool me?" Daren stated
"We didn't fool you, we have the Scarlett Tingling in my hand," Crave explained.
"I've had enough of you lies," Daren said, but Stan pushed him away before he could slit the street performer's throat.
"Get off of him, he's telling the truth," Stan said as Daren backhanded him into a trash can.
"That was me being nice right now, stay there," Daren explained. Stan's eyes turned white as an orange and gold aura appeared around him as he stepped away from the trash can and stared at the Lycan. Daren noticed Stan's radiance and moved away from Crave, focusing on the orange boy.
"Get off of him, dog," Stan instructed.
"Do you want to leave you don't have to do this?" Daren groaned as he lunged at Stan, colliding with him and causing a flash of color that flung him away from the two as Stan continued to run in the direction of the Lycan. Crave grabbed Stan, hoping to calm him down before any further damage was done. Daren regained his footing but stumbled as he felt uneasy. Crave became aware of this and ended the chase.
"Daren," He walked up towards the Lycan and gave the Scarlett tingling to him.
"So you were not lying" Daren chuckled
"I was not, Do you need help?" Crave said
"I'll be fine, You're debt is clear Crave enjoy the fact that we won't come for you anymore," Daren said.
"I will," Crave said grabbing Stan and leaving.
