· Personality ·

• Shy | Hanyul has always been a shy girl, from stumbling when walking past a group of strangers to fumbling over her words she's never been quit able to overcome it. While it has gotten better over the years she still tends to stutter while talking to new people if she talks at all.

• Hard-working | Being the younger sister of a perfect student (good grades and fitness), she has worked hard so that she could make her parents proud(which they were)

• Observant | She watches everyone around, and she learns from them visually and manually, but she prefers to learn things visually.

• Quick learner | Because of her being observant, it doesn't take long for Hanyul to learn a song or choreography.

• Independent | She usually fixes stuff herself, and if she can't will she then ask someone for help. One reason is because she doesn't want to be a bother. She also likes the feeling of being able to say she did this herself.

· Trivia · 

° She enjoys really spicy food, the spicier the better for her

° She has a fear of the dark and has always slept with a Winnie the Pooh nightlight (which she brought along)

° She isn't a fan of chocolate cake, it's fine if something else is on it but just chocolate makes her sick of she eats too much

· Fun Fact ·  Hanyul's brother plays on a soccer team and is known for his eye sharp goal kicks; while he keeps us family life private he has mentioned Hanyul in interviews before about her training

· Background · (beware of a long story)

Being born and raised in Busan she and her two brothers where always at the beach, it was actually here that she started her singing career; whenever they wanted something their mother wouldn't but the siblings would go out to the crowded beach and perform, her brothers dancing and her singing- it was how they got a lot of the things that they wanted as children. As they got older her brothers turned to jobs instead but Hanyul stayed on the beach singing whether she got money or not. When she turned ten she received the news that her parents were getting a divorce, unsure of what the reason was she assumed it was because she made low marks in school and they were ashamed, this in turned made her start to study more and focus on her academic career putting her beach viewings on hold for a few years. She didn't actually get back into until her high school years when she and a few other students had to raise money for a charity, the team that raised the most money got a free dinner at a local ramen shop. After days of figuring out what they would do, Hanyul the normal quiet one suggested they street perform; this proved a good idea and they took to the streets with Hanyul and two other girls in the mic, they didn't win but it made Hanyul realize she loves music.

After a few months of looking she found out that Stone Entertainment was holding open auditions, she wanted to go but thought that she didn't have the talent and so she dropped the whole idea, however, one of her brothers found out and talked her into going. She went, completely sure that they'd just push her aside, but she was surprised when they asked her to come back again. The next day, after four days of auditioning she received the news that she was going to become a trainee. She was so excited and ran to call her parents who were just as excited as she was and so after her finals and graduation to move on to the 12th she packed up her bags and moved to Seoul. She happened to find out about the competition through the head of the company who said he was sending over a few girls and he picked Hanyul as one of them.
