This had to be a dream.

Jaehee paced back and forth relentlessly in her apartment, her heels clacking against the hardwood floor, as she had not even cared to take them off in her haste to sink deep in her thoughts.

She was seeing colour for the first time in her life. Countless shades of pigments attached to every object around her, and the sight of it absolutely intoxicated her. Her hands were a pale shade of peach- or, that was what that colour was called, correct? She didn't know. She only remembered short memories of her parents teaching her about the colours she would expect to see when she was younger.

Curious, Jaehee rushed towards the bathroom, quickly flicking the light switch up so the lights would come to life, light being created in the once dark and desolate room. She turned towards the mirror, almost expecting to see the monotone shades of gray, white, and black that she had normally been used to seeing. Her eyes went wide at the person she saw staring back at her, however.

The short, slightly messy strands of hair that Jaehee was so used to seeing dark gray were now a dark, coffee coloured brown, hanging in front of her golden-brown eyes, as her bangs had already begun to grow out again only after a week of getting her hair trimmed. Her skin was the same pale peach colour her hands were, with no noticeable mark on it, her lips close to that shade, if not a tad bit darker.

Jaehee felt herself begin to grin slowly, her eyes brimming with translucent tears that began to race each other down her cheeks. She saw herself truly for the first time, the Jaehee Kang that others who found their soulmates saw. The actual version of herself that she could now see since she had found her-

Her soulmate.

Jaehee froze, her lips slightly apart as she remembered the girl who had started this all. The girl with (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes. The girl with skin so beautiful Jaehee could have sworn she was an angel. The girl who smiled at her with such sincerity that Jaehee remembered feeling her heart hammer in her chest, her face turning a bright shade of red even at the thought.

She had never caught her name.

"Her name," Jaehee finally murmured, her slender fingers clenched tightly against the marble counter she stood behind. "I need to get her name," she added, a more desperate tone beginning to surface from her throat.

But how was she going to do that? She had left you at the coffee shop in such a haste after cleaning the coffee off of you in her shock that she had never even thought of asking who you were, even if you were her soulmate. How was she going to be able to find you again? You may work at the coffee shop she went to get Mr. Han's coffee at, but what if you had scheduled shifts? What if she was so busy because of work that she never got the chance to get back to the cafe when you were there? So many "What ifs" ran through Jaehee's head at once that she had to hold her head in her hands to keep herself from banging it against the counter, ashamed at herself for her own stupidity.

Jaehee was so entangled in her thoughts that she almost didn't hear her phone go off, an all too familiar ringtone playing out loudly in the living room, fortunately loud enough for her to catch, and she jolted up, dashing out of the bathroom and into the living room, luckily used to running in heels.

Mr. Han's contact picture practically glared at her as she picked her phone up from the table she had left it on, and the jarring alarm ringtone she had chosen for him already began to hurt her ears, and she quickly swiped her screen to answer his call, moving her phone up next to her ear as she leaned against the wall with a soft sigh.

"Assistant Kang," said Jumin, annoyance practically oozing out of the phone's speaker as he spoke. "You failed to return to my office today after I requested you to go out to get me coffee," he remarked, and Jaehee bit her lip anxiously, remembering almost immediately that she had quite literally ditched work to get home when she had freaked out earlier.

"Mr. Han-" Jaehee began, only to be cut off by Jumin almost instantly.

"Where are you? I hope you did not think you could leave work so early without an excuse," he questioned. "You were supposed to accompany to the meeting this afternoon about the new cat ice cream product we were planning on, remember?"

Biting back the exasperated groan that threatened to leave her lips, Jaehee took a deep breath, preparing herself before she spoke again.

"Mr. Han," Jaehee began. "Something happened to me whilst I was in the cafe receiving your drink that...altered my schedule a little bit," she explained, feeling heat rise in her cheeks.

Jumin seemed to let out a long, annoyed sigh. "What could have possibly happened, Assistant Kang?" he asked. "You didn't get sick, did you?"

"No, no, that didn't happen," Jaehee reassured, rolling her eyes a little. "I..." she began, not knowing how she should properly word what she wanted to say.

"You what?"

"I...found my soulmate," Jaehee muttered, a smile managing to crack through the worried look on her face as she thought of the girl again.

Jumin was quiet for a few moments, and Jaehee began to wonder if he had hung up, about to pull her phone away from her ear to check, when she heard his voice again.

"You...seriously met your soulmate?" he asked, sounding a bit less cold now, his voice more hushed and quiet. "At the cafe?"

"Yes, Mr. Han, I did," Jaehee confirmed, nodding even though Jumin couldn't see it. "I touched her hand on accident after I spilled coffee on her and I...the world suddenly just burst into colour...it's so beautiful, Mr. Han," she murmured, smiling a little as she reminisced over it.

If Jumin was bothered by the fact that Jaehee mentioned that the person she had come into contact with was female, he didn't show it, instead seeming to grow quieter. "I see...." he muttered, and Jaehee almost felt as if he may scold her for being naive. "Well," he began, sounding a bit strained. "I suppose I can understand how that may have caused you to miss work..." he murmured, as if he sympathized with her. "Just...make sure you come back to work tomorrow, alright, Assistant Kang?"

Jaehee nodded. "Alright, sir, thank you," she replied, smiling. "Thank you, really."

"Don't mention it," Jumin responded, and Jaehee oddly felt like the older man was smiling as he spoke, when he hardly ever did do that, unless around Elizabeth 3rd. "And, Assistant Kang?"

"Yes, Mr. Han?"

"It is beautiful, I agree," he murmured, before hanging up abruptly. Jaehee's eyes widened a little in shock, not expecting to hear that, especially from Jumin.

"Does that mean Mr. Han has met his soulmate?" she wondered aloud, pondering. Who could it be? Jumin always brushed away all the girls who came up to him, "accidentally" touching him in hopes of seeing colour when they did, and all of them looking disappointed when nothing changed. So who could it be?

Jaehee shrugged these thoughts aside, shaking her head. The most important thing to her right now was finding her soulmate, which, as she feared, might take a while as it was, with the lack of contact info she had on her. She thought of asking Seven to try and find her for a moment, but pushed that idea aside, not wanting to risk angering her soulmate by having one of her friends track her down without her permission.

Beginning to lose hope, Jaehee sighed, deciding to head to her room to see if she could rest for a while, since Jumin had been so kind enough to give her the rest of the day off, when her phone rang again, this time with the ringtone assigned to contacts she didn't already have saved to her phone. She almost ignored it, thinking it to be a telemarketer or someone with the wrong number, but lifted the phone to her face anyways, deciding to answer the unknown number anyways.

"This is Jaehee Kang, chief secretary and assistant to director Jumin Han of C&R International," she drawled, a bored tone clearly showing on her words. "How can I he-"

"Jaehee Kang?" said the unknown caller, her voice shockingly familiar to Jaehee. "Oh, good! It's me, (Y/N)! I'm the girl you met at the coffee shop earlier," she announced, and Jaehee's eyes widened in shock, although a smile began growing on her face as she tried to hide her excitement.

"(Y/N)?!" Jaehee exclaimed, giving up on controlling her outbursts. "Is this really you? How did you get this number?" she questioned, although, in all honesty, she didn't really care. She was too focused on how melodious and beautiful your voice sounded to her, and how even just hearing your voice made the colours around her look brighter.

"Yep, it's me!" (Y/N) exclaimed back, laughing a little, which made Jaehee want to laugh along with her. However, she held back for the moment, wanting to hear the other girl speak more. "You left your wallet here in your rush to leave earlier, and I found your business card in it, so I decided to call you so I could return it to you," she explained, and a large smile formed on Jaehee's lips, touched that she cared about her so much already.

"I..thank you, (Y/N)," Jaehee murmured, her tone softening even more than it already had. "Would you like to come over to my apartment to drop it off?" she asked, although really just wanting (Y/N) to come over so she could see her again. "I will, of course, acquire you with the proper directions."

"Oh, really?" (Y/N) asked, and Jaehee swore she could practically feel the smile on the other girl's face, even if she wasn't there with her. "That'd be great, Jaehee, thank you," she added, and Jaehee couldn't help but love how her name sounded when (Y/N) said it.

"Alright," she responded, before reciting out her address and apartment number to (Y/N), hoping that the other girl was already close by or at least knew where she was going.

"Wait, I live in the building right across from you!" (Y/N) exclaimed, hardly hiding the excitement in her voice. "I was already close by since I was heading home, so I'll be over in about five minutes," she announced. "So I'll see you then, Jaehee, bye!"

Jaehee smiled, almost forgetting that (Y/N) had then hung up on her, before she realized that she'd be up at her apartment soon, and her eyes widened, looking down at her work uniform and back at the door.

There was absolutely no way in hell that she was going to wear such a formal outfit when she was meeting (Y/N) again, so she rushed off to her room, quickly removing her heels, leggings, suit, and skirt, replacing the skirt with some loose fitting sweatpants that she regularly wore when at home when she had time to relax(not that she ever did). She quickly unbuttoned her shirt and tossed it aside and replaced it with an oversized black t-shirt with "04" on the front in white. Almost as soon as she had gotten her shirt on, she heard a knock at the door, and she quickly smoothed her hair out and rushed over, taking a deep breath before she wrapped her fingers around the doorknob, twisting it to reveal (Y/N). Jaehee exhaled loudly, taking in the girl before her.

She was gorgeous, with her (h/l) (h/c) hair and (e/c) eyes that seemed to sparkle a little in the faint light coming from the hallway outside her apartment. Jaehee was in awe for a moment, never thinking that she'd ever be so mesmerized by another woman before, when (Y/N) finally snapped her out of her reverie.

"Jaehee?" she asked, probably for the second or third time when Jaehee finally came back to focus, her eyes settling on the girl in front of her.

"O-Oh, uhm, sorry," she stammered, her cheeks reddening in embarrassment. "Come in, (Y/N)," she muttered, moving aside so the other girl could walk inside. (Y/N) giggled at Jaehee's response, and moved forward until she was beside Jaehee, watching Jaehee as she closed the door behind her.

"Oh, uhm, here's your wallet," (Y/N) says, pulling out the small black pouch Jaehee uses to hold her cards and spare cash, handing it over to her. Jaehee smiled, taking it gratefully.

"Thank you, (Y/N)," she responds, placing it on the table nearest to them. "Uhm..while you're here, would you like something to drink or eat?" Jaehee offered. "I have coffee or tea, and I think I have some cookies in my pantry, maybe," she added, trying to remember all she had.

(Y/N) smiled in response. "I'd love to. Besides, I'd like to talk about this...soulmate thing that happened today, she added," giving Jaehee a nervous grin. Jaehee bit her lip, nodding slightly.

"Alright," she agreed, before leading (Y/N) to the kitchen, heading over to one of the cupboards, opening it up to reveal multiple bags of coffee beans and some boxes of tea bags.

"Tea or coffee?" Jaehee asked, pulling a bag of her favourite coffee beans, clearly shown as it was half empty, out of the cupboard.

"Coffee, please," (Y/N) answered, smiling. "And before you ask, I'll just have the same kind of coffee you're having," she added, nodding her head towards the bag in Jaehee's hand. "If it's your favourite than I'm sure I'll like it."

Jaehee's face heated up again, and she turned away from (Y/N) to attempt to hide her embarrassment, ignoring the giggles that rang out behind her, no matter how cute they sounded. She instead focused on grinding the beans and placing the powder in a coffee filter, placing that into the machine next to her.

While walking to the sink to get some water for the coffee machine, (Y/N) spoke up.

"So..we're soulmates, right?" she asked, and Jaehee turned her head towards her to give her a small smile in reply.

"Yes, it seems we are," she responded, biting her lip to avoid the embarrassing squeal of excitement threatening to break free from Jaehee's lips. "Although, to be honest, even though I've just recently met you, I'm glad it's you."

Now it was (Y/N)'s turn to blush, her cheeks darkening. "I..I could say the same thing for you, Jaehee," she murmured, grinning awkwardly as she watched Jaehee pour the water into the machine and press the button so it would begin to warm up.

Jaehee smiled warmly, walking over until she was in front of (Y/N). "I...never knew just how beautiful the world around me was until I met you, literally," she muttered, looking around again as she took in the colours once more. (Y/N) seemed to do the same, except she only stared at Jaehee when she did, making the other woman blush a little in response.

"You know...." (Y/N) murmured, her eyes focusing on the slight red colour Jaehee's cheeks had become. "I used to think blushing wasn't a thing, that the blood didn't actually rush up to you face, because I could never see it," she mumbled, moving a hand up to brush her thumb against Jaehee's cheekbone, making the other girl jump a little in surprise. "Now that I can see it though, I'd have to say it's pretty damn fascinating."

Jaehee chuckled. "I think it's cute, how fascinated you are," she let slip, grinning when she noticed (Y/N)'s cheeks darkening at the compliment. "But I could definitely say the same thing," she added, before an idea appeared in her head.

"Hey, (Y/N)?"

"Yeah, Jaehee?"

"I..wonder how red your face can get," Jaehee murmured, leaning a bit closer to (Y/N), her eyes locking with the other girl's. "Perhaps I should..experiment," she muttered, close enough to (Y/N) now that she could feel her breath hit her face.

"I...maybe you should.." (Y/N) stammered, her eyes wide and her face growing redder by the second, as Jaehee leaned forward even more until her lips brushed up against her's.

"Good," Jaehee whispered, before gently pressing her lips against (Y/N)'s, both their eyes shutting immediately after.

(Y/N)'s lips tasted saccharine, and Jaehee already found herself becoming addicted to the feeling of her own lips against her's as she pulled apart for a moment, to see if (Y/N) was okay with what she was doing. At the slightest of nods from (Y/N), Jaehee kissed her again, this time more passionate and loving, and Jaehee nipped (Y/N)'s bottom lip teasingly before pulling back, a broad and wide grin appearing on her face as she noticed the deep red hue that took over (Y/N)'s face.

(Y/N), however, simply stared at Jaehee in awe, swollen lips hung partially open as her eyes traversed Jaehee's face, picking out every feature. Jaehee chuckled a little as she watched her, before pressing their foreheads together to regain (Y/N)'s attention.

"I liked that," Jaehee breathed out. "A lot."

"As did I," (Y/N) admitted. "I'd like to do it much more often..."

"As would I, (Y/N)," Jaehee murmured. "Maybe we should do it some more," she muttered, leaning in again, (Y/N) quickly following, before a beeping noise suddenly interrupted the quiet environment around them, and the two froze, and Jaehee rolled her eyes once she recognized the sound as the coffee machine being done, cursing herself for being startled by a simple machine. She continued to lean in again, however (Y/N) pressed a hand against her upper chest, holding her back.

"You should go get the coffee," she suggested. "It is ready, after all."

Jaehee, in response, moved a little, so that (Y/N) was pressed slightly against the counter beside them, and she placed her hands on her waist, smirking at the soft squeal that left (Y/N)'s lips as she moved her. She pressed their foreheads back together again, leaned forward, and, once her lips were brushing against (Y/N)'s again, whispered;

"It can wait."
