Chapter 30: Reveal
"Look who's back." Saeran smiled seeing you with your luggage back at his apartment. "I knew you couldn't stay away from me." He said with a smirk and pulled you into a very close side hug while lifting your chin up to his face. "Don't worry you'll be safe and sound-"
"In my arms." Saeyoung somehow got in-between you two and hugged you possessively with a pout.
"And now I'm gonna be safe in the C&R building." You chuckled and detached Saeyoung from you. "I've gotta head back today since Jumins back on his feet, Jaehee has to give me all the paperwork she's done so I can take over." You gave them a salute and rushed to your room to unpack what you needed for now.
"I can give you a ride if you want." Saeyoung offered as he leaned on the door frame.
"That would be great cause I-" You looked over at him and he smirked while wiggling his eyebrows, that's when you understood the double meaning to what he said and threw a pillow at him. "Saeran I'm gonna need a ride over to the office!" You called out.
"Anything for you beautiful!" He called back leaving Saeyoung with a pout.
"I was kidding!"
-
"Thanks for everything Jaehee!" You gave her a tight hug. "I'm really gonna miss you."
"Don't worry, I don't think this will be the last time I might have to help out here, and I don't really mind the extra bonus I get from working here." She let out a chuckle. "Here are all the contracts and information I got for that company reunion we had to work on together, sorry I'm leaving this all to you." She apologized.
"Don't worry Jaehee, I know you have to get back to your Bakery, poor Min's also been working hard over there non stop."
"Yeah, I'm gonna have to get her something as a thank you." You gave her a side smile and one last hug.
"Take care, and either way I'll be heading over there for Jumin's morning coffee."
"And I'll have it ready." She gave you a wink. "See you later Y/n!" You waved goodbye as she made her way over to the elevator.
"Well, It's time to get back to work." You mumbled to yourself and grabbed the stack of papers Jaehee left you. You walked down the halls and reached your office and settled the stack of papers on your desk with a noticeable thunk.
"Looks like you've got a lot of work on your hands," Jumin said casually as he walked in.
"Morning Jumin." You greeted. "Hey, after work do you have a bit of time?" You asked. He raised an eyebrow as he took a sip of his coffee.
"That depends, for what?"
"Well, I was talking to Saeyoung and we thought it was about time we took some actions against Rika and we need your help for that." Jumin thought about it and slowly nodded his head.
"Of course, that's fine with me. I'll have the company's intelligence unit on standby for whatever decision we take." You raised your eyebrows.
"We have an Intelligence unit? You mean like in the game???"
"Yes, We've had them since the incident with V. And please do not mention that horrid game." He rubbed his temples with his right hand at the thought of how he was portrayed in the game.
"But I'm playing your route now!" You took out your phone and showed it to him. "They even got new updates." You added with a chuckle, seeing his irritated expression.
"We have things to do Y/n, please do not get distracted." He started walking away but turned to look back at you before he left the room. "And I'm much better than that Cheritz version." You let out a short laugh seeing how it would tick him off.
But the fun was cut short when you looked back at the paperwork.
"WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST EMAIL THE INFO." You complained. You let out a long sigh but then straighten your posture. "Time to get shit done." You cracked your knuckles and took a seat at your desk and started replying to the companies. Sending requests and thank you's to them as you made sure you got everything on the checklist for the reunion.
"Yes, Can I make the reservation for the 6th of April?" You took out your sticky notes to write down. "Yes, okay...we need it at 8 pm." You wrote down the address and smiled as you put a check next to it in the list. "Perfect, I'll be sending the bill in advance to completely reserve that day. Yes, full price. And thank you to you as well." You made sure you hung up and then laid back in your chair.
"At least that's done." You rubbed your sore neck before finishing the last of the details on the list. And before you knew it, you had everything done and the day was over. There was a knock on your door and you cleaned up your desk a bit before answering.
"Come in." You could see it was Jumin who peeked his head through the door and then closed behind him as he entered.
"I can see you were as productive as ever been, Y/n." He complimented with a soft smile. He went to pick up a stray sticky note that was on the floor and handed it over to you.
"Thanks." You placed it on your cork board and turned back to the CEO-in-line. "I'll have the summary for the reunion done by tomorrow and now that I've booked the place I can send out the invitations."
"Well done Y/n." He looked around your office, seeing it so colorful in contrast to his. "It's getting late, we should turn in for the night." You yawned in response, getting a chuckle out of him.
"Yeah, we should get going."
"Shall we?" He gestured towards the door.
"Sure, just let me get my things and we can go." He nodded in response and waited patiently as you gathered your things and soon enough you two were heading down the elevator and out the company building doors.
Jumin offered to take you home since either way you invited him over to discuss the whole 'How to get back at Rika thing'.
It was a quick ride there and you two started making your way up the stairs and you unlocked the door to reveal Saeyoung and Saeran arguing.
"What on earth is going on?" Jumin asked. You looked around and noticed that the Mario Kart game was on the ground along with the controllers.
"Just ignore them, that's what happens when you play Mario Kart. Do you want anything to drink?" You asked casually as if it weren't the first time you've seen them fight over a game.
Eventually, The two stopped fighting and you were sitting on the couch along with the Choi twins and Jumin.
"I called Yoosung and he said he would be here in a while, Jaehee's on her way and Zen says he'll be here a bit later." You commented as you put your phone away.
"Yeah, It's best if we have everyone pitching in so we can get more Ideas." Added Saeyoung.
"And do you have any Ideas already?" Jumin asked to no one in particular.
"Well..." You began, gaining the attention of the three men. "I was thinking since, apparently, Saeyoung can't go back to the psychiatric ward anymore because the people there think he wouldn't help V get better. Maybe I could go?" It ended up more like a question than a statement.
"And how would you get in? Isn't it only for family members?" Jumin asked wanting to know more details as he placed a hand on his chin in thought.
"Saeyoung, Saeran or even Celest can help me out in hacking the system." You said simply.
"Wait but how-" Saeyoung was cut when he heard the door. "I'll get it." Said Saeyoung as he walked over to the door. You stood up thinking it was yoosung but you were a bit surprised to see
"Zen? Min?" You go walk over to them, wondering how they got here so fast. They rushed through the door and into the apartment. You looked at them and they looked out of breath with worry and concern etched into their expressions.
"What happened? What's going on?" You asked nervously, anxiety slowly rising, probably not wanting to know the answer.
"Y/n." Zen began, his tone completely distressing knowing he would have to break the news to you. "Celest's gone missing."
You froze in place, not sure if you heard right. All the while you could feel everyone's eyes were on you.
"What?" You asked, not sure you heard him correctly.
"We went to her apartment and her door was forced open and her phone was still there but she was gone," Min explained. You blinked a few times to register what was currently happening.
"Y/n?" Saeyoung spoke up, cautious yet calm. Seeing you were unresponsive he said "I-I'll start the search and we'll find her soon, it's going to be al-" His voice faded and you only looked forward feeling your body get heavier and heavier.
She's gone?
You thought as tears started to fall down your cheeks.
"Y/n, please don't cry." Zen was the one to speak up and went to wipe away your tears. You're mind started racing with horrible ideas.
Captured.
Tortured.
Sold.
Killed
Left for dead.
It was getting hard to breath and your hands were shaking.
"Y/n." Saeyoung tried to get through to you.
Celest was always there for you, for so long. She was the one that helped you when you ran away from home, when you needed a place to stay, to find a way to study, to find a job, and now she just up and vanishes? You were with her just a day ago and you left her.
"Please say something." He begged. You tried to compose yourself to speak.
"Please, find her." Was all you managed to say before walking into your room, not wanting to cause a scene.
Everyone watched as your left quietly. "What are we gonna do Saeyoung?" Asked Zen. He had an arm wrapped around Min's shoulders. Celest is also a very close friend of hers and Zen knows it, she wasn't the type of person to cry just to show a brave face and Zen didn't want her to stand alone knowing she must be hurting just as much as you were.
Meanwhile, Saeyoung was thinking of endless possibilities as to how he could track Celest down.
"Saeran get me my laptop. Min, please tell me the last thing you remember about what Celest was up to and what she was working on, maybe she was working for someone and something went wrong, I need all the info you can give me." Min nodded and so the search began.
While they got to work, you were in your room with your head low, hands holding each other, trembling. Saeran decided to check up on you while the others were working.
"Hey." Saeran spoke up.
"Hi." You croaked.
"How are you holding up?" He asked taking a seat next to you.
"Just barely." There was a moment of silence. Saeran didn't know if you wanted a friend to talk to or some space, he went with the ladder and started making his way towards the door.
"Please don't leave me alone." You spoke softly. Saeran stopped in his tracks. He found it ironic yet sad at how the tables have turned. Now you were the one that needed company. You stayed where you were as he sat down again, this time placing an arm around your shoulders in comfort.
The hours went on and Saeyoung was still looking up information with what Min could give him. It was pretty late and the others decided to head home. Saeyoung would stay at his computer and was determined to find something. His eyes would get tired and decided to take a small break and check up on you.
He quietly opened the door to see you there with his brother sound asleep. He chuckled to himself and quietly walked over to you. He wiped away the tear stains on your cheeks and place a kiss on the crown of your head.
"I'll do everything I possibly can to get your friend back. I promise." He moved the hair from your face and started walking out, not before you spoke up and said.
"Thanks Saeyoung. Love you."
