Chapter 22: Ask for help damn it
“It’s a good thing they let you out today.” You mentioned as you wheeled Jumin into his office.
“Yes, but that’s only after the argument I had to have with them.” You chuckled awkwardly, remembering that very uncomfortable moment as you moved his normal swiveling chair for his wheelchair.
“Jaehee and I-” You were cut off mid sentence when you heard the door open.
“Good morning Mr.Han, Good Morning Y/n.” She greeted formally in her uniform with her hair tied in a cute ponytail.
“Jaehee! Perfect timing. I was just about to tell jumin about his schedule for today.” You laid out the black leather folder in front of him and took out all the important papers.
“Since the hospital said that you couldn’t stress yourself out too much,” She began.
“For now all you have to do is sign these papers and we’ll inform you about what’s next.” You finished Jaehee’s sentence with a smile which she gladly returned. It was good to know that even though you had double or even triple the amount of work you had before, you surely worked well with Jaehee.
“Only signing papers? What am I, a child?” He responded in a somewhat of a rude tone.
“Oh, um, This is only for now since you just got out of the hospital.”
“It’s only for now.” Jaehee emphasized. Jumin scoffed and took out a pen from his drawer.
“Fine, leave me to finish this and you two start researching that new business my father was talking about. Go.” You were somewhat shocked seeing him act like this but decided to let him be.
“Sure, see you later Jumin.” You said as you took your things and started exiting the office with Jaehee.
“He’s not taking this very well.” You said as you walked down the hall.
“Don’t worry about it too much Y/n,” Jaehee tried to reassure you as she placed a gentle hand on your shoulder. “He’ll go back to his normal self soon enough.” You smiled at her kindness and put your hand on top of her’s.
“Thanks Jaehee. You know, maybe he should get a cat.” You pondered on the thought of a beautiful white cat with blue eyes. Jaehee lifted an eyebrow.
"No. You're not turning him into some cat freak like in the game."

“Ughhhhhh.” You whined as you flopped onto Saeran's couch. He was also in the living room but on his computer probably editing some kind of advertisement.
“So how was work?” He asked.
“UGHHHHHHH.” You whined louder only making him chuckle and close his laptop.
“Not so good?” He joked trying to lift your spirits.
“GUESS WHO HAD TO ATTEND 12 REUNIONS IN JUMIN’S PLACE.”
“Jaehee?” You narrowed your eyes at him and threw one of the couch pillows.
“ME.”
“Would you like M&M’s?”
“Yes.” Saeran smiled and headed for the kitchen while you took out your phone.
Y/n:
Hey babe, anything new?
Almost immediately he answered.
Saeyoung <3:
Not really, Rika hasn't contacted me since
that last time when we were at the hospital
like 2 months ago.
You sighed seeing that there was no progress.
Y/n:
Okay, just stay alert and don’t do anything reckless.
See you tomorrow after work.
Saeyoung <3:
Sure thing, see you tomorrow.
You could see he was stressed when he wouldn’t call you by any nicknames or send emojis.
“Trouble in paradise?” Asked Saeran before handing you a bowl of M&M’s. You gave him a side smile and started chowing down.
“Not really, just trying to figure out a few things, you know, about Jumin’s accident.”
“Don’t you want me to help look into that?” He asked. You shook your head in rejection.
“I’ve got my friend Celest on the case and Saeyoung’s looking into it too. I don’t want to risk you getting in trouble.” You said honestly.
“Okay.”
“Really?” You cocked a brow.
“Yeah. Why?”
“You complied way too quickly. I expected some disagreement.”
“Nah.” He shrugged, reaching into your bowl and scooping a handful of M&Ms.
Dropping a couple in his mouth. “Well, I gotta get back to work.” He walked over to his computer. “By the way, I ordered pizza.”
“Great.” You said half-attentively, tossing a single candy into your mouth, thoughtful.
~
“Today you have to attend these meetings.” You're given a whole file filled with companies names and their financial information.
Taking in a deep breath, “Thanks, Jaehee.” You take the file with a meak smile on your face.
“Don't worry, Y/n, this is just until Jumin gets better. I'll be taking care of everything from here. We'll all get through this.” She said as she opened the door to Jumin's office.
“For the love of-”
As you two walked in, Jumin had just dropped his pen and was struggling to get it off the floor.
You hurry over to help and as you bend to reach for it.
“Don't.” He commanded. “Don't touch it.”
“Jumin, let me help.” You insisted.
“Y/n, do your job and leave me to mine.” You couldn't just let him struggle and potentially hurt himself further by falling over so you simply crouched down and picked it up for him.
Jumin took the pen from your hand and without a word got back to work.
“You're welcome…” You muttered low enough for him not to hear.
“Mr.Han, please understand that we're only trying to help you.” Jaehee tried to reason with him.
“I know, I know, what have you brought me Y/n?” He asked, never looking up from his desk.
“This is the summary of the reunion I just attended.” You handed over a black folder. He took it and examined it with an eyebrow raised.
“We're lending them money?” He asked you in somewhat of an angered tone.
“Yeah, Jaehee and I investigated this company and they might not be doing very well now but with the loan we think they can be really beneficial for C&R.”
“Think?” He questioned.
I should have been there to make that decision.
Jumin thought as he glared at the contents of the folder.
“Jumin?” You said trying to catch his attention.
With a sigh, Jumin closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose. “It's fine Y/n, but please refrain from loaning money or anything of the sort until I can attend the important meetings.” You thought that decision was for the best and nodded in agreement.
“Sure Jumin.” You heard your phone beep at your side and noticed the notification telling you to 'Hand in documents.’ “We’d better get going. If you need anything please don't hesitate in asking us Jumin.” You said before leaving.
Jumin on the other hand let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding and his serious expression fell to a more stressed and depressed one.
He looked down to his legs and glared at them.
Reaching out to his phone, he starts dialing the o-so-familiar number. It rang a few times before they answered.
“Hello?”
“Saeyoung, I need to ask you a favor.”
