Signs.
Ruby jumped at a knock at his door. He touched his head, making sure his hat was on and nothing was revealing before going over.
"Hello?" Sapphire's voice was led by a squeal as she barged in.
"You're ok!" He tensed up when she hugged him. Managing a soft smile, he spoke.
"Yeah... I'm alright." She pulled away before seeing the tense stance.
"Are you sure?" He nodded as he grabbed his head, making it seem normal.
"Just a headache. I was going to get some water-" She paused before sitting him down.
"I'll go get that for you. Stay." He smiled before she went down. Thanks to the animal ears, he heard a conversation from downstairs.
"How is he?"
"Headache... But he tensed up like I was being too loud. He was also quiet..."
"He did that yesterday too! He also hasn't left since yesterday!"
Oh shit. He gulped before laying down, holding the ears flat to his head. He didn't want to make it obvious that something was wrong in case one of Kari's friends were lurking. He sat up when Sapphire entered with the water.
"Here." He smiled as he took it from her, keeping a grip on his head.
"Thanks." She hummed as he sipped the water.
"Are you sure you're alright? Your parents have seen you acting weirdly." He smiled as he placed the water down to wave her question off.
"Yeah, I'm alright. It's just a headache." She hummed as he paused. "I should take a nap. I'm not going to get better moving around." She sighed before she stood up.
"Well... I'll check on you later. Rest up."
He nodded before she went out. Finally- He instantly moved and closed the door. Then he changed the curtains to his blackout curtains before closing them. Lastly he grabbed a hoodie and pulled the hoodie over his head, helping his hat cover his ears. After that, he got comfy under his blankets and glanced at his phone. Nothing from Blake yet, but he knew the young inspector would solve this.
