(No Art) Some Story Ideas?
Hey guys, so now that Awoken is finished, I want to throw out my ideas for some new books that I'm planning on writing, in three different fandoms. I'm not a person who can write several stories at once, so I want you guys to pick the storyline/fandom that you like best, and I'll start on that one.
Also feel free to throw out some ideas for post-Awoken oneshots into the comments, as I'll be starting my short stories book soon.
The first idea would be a single book, involving some canon characters from Miraculous Ladybug, since I've been into that show for a while now.
I came across a writing prompt somewhere on the Internet that involved taking a character that you dislike and writing about them in a way that makes you like them a little more.
Something that I really hate about Chloé Bourgeois is how she lacks independence; she always depends on other people to do her bidding and rescue her from situations that she got herself into.
This, though not very 'Miraculous' related, is what I came up with:
It started out as a peaceful end-of-the-school-year class trip to the beach... And Chloé Bourgeois is certain that this is just the chance she needs to win over the famous Adrien Agreste , once and for all. The location was perfect, she looked amazing in her new designer bikini; no boy could ever resist her charms. This was they day when she was going to stop being single.
Then Marinette decided to go swimming. Leave it up to that clumsy girl to ruin Chloé's perfect day at the beach by nearly drowning... And guess who comes to her rescue? None other that /her/ Adrikins!
Little does she know, Chloé Bourgeois has much more pressing matters to worry about than moping around about this clumsy peasant girl stealing her crush. Namely the person who decides that a ransom for the mayor's daughter would be a high price — one that her father would surely be willing to pay.
For once, Ladybug and Chat Noir can't save her. For once, her precious daddy can't come to the rescue. For once, Chloé Bourgeois needs to count on someone who she has never put trust in before — herself.
Shitty description, I know, but that's the main idea of it. I haven't thought the story all the way through, so there may be some changes needed. I suppose it's not very superhero related, which is kind of the whole point of the show but.... Well, you get the idea.
Secondly, I was inspired by Journal 3 to start a Gravity Falls fanfic series that details the adventures of Ford Pines in the time that he spent on the other side of the portal, gathering information on Bill Cipher. The result resembles Doctor Who-Style story, where Ford travels across the dimensions, with each book containing his adventures in one dimension (most likely without a long-term companion like the Doctor). I relate to Ford Pines a lot and feel like I could write him somewhat convincingly. Not quite sure yet without trying, though. Anyways, here's the description for what would be the first book (Contains spoilers for Journal 3):
It had been 14 years since Stanford Pines landed in the Nightmare Realm, and his search for Bill Cipher's weakness seemed endless. Though new information made itself clear every now and again, it had been months since the last major breakthrough, and the scientist's determination was beginning to waver. Dimension after dimension, Ford's travels weren't turning up anything special. Would he ever find a way to slay the dream demon? He had been certain that it was possible, but he was becoming unsure as the days went by.
Then he falls into dimension 49'\. Quite literally, falls into it. On his face. As if that isn't a strange enough entrance, Ford slowly begins to realize that he has arrived in yet another dimension parallel to his own- with one major difference. Well, two actually. Turns out this dimension is behind the timeline of his own dimension... 14 years, to be exact.
Normally, Ford would be smart. Normally, Ford wouldn't interfere with the happenings in a dimension other than his own... But there he was, shoving his Bill Cipher project to the side, in hopes of stopping his alternate self from suffering the same fate as him ... But he may have forgotten about one minor detail.
Bill is inside the mind of his alternate self too... And now that he knows of the presence of his former ally, the demon will stop at nothing to finish what he started.
Again, lame description, yes, but I swear, the idea sounded way better in my head and would probably sound much better written out in story form.
As for the second difference in this parallel dimension, that is meant to be a plot twist and shall not be revealed ;)
Last but not least...
Okay, I know it's been years now since the game was released and the Portal fandom is probably pretty dead, but I absolutely love the game and the fanfiction "Blue Sky" (READ IT ITS SO GOOD) inspired me to plan my own post-game fic.
It would strongly help if you've played the game (which you totally should because it's amazing), but since I know a lot of my readers have not, I would be willing to explain everything fully so you'd be able to read without previous context.
Plans for that:
It's been several years since the catastrophe in Aperture Labratories, and Chell is quite enjoying life outside the nightmare facility. No tests, no psychotic A.I. telling her what to do (or attempting to end her life, for that matter)... Man, everything was going great.
The former test subject had scored herself a job at a space station, doing odd jobs such as cleaning and serving refreshments to the other employees. Though it wasn't her dream job, it was a hell of a lot better than Aperture, and she enjoyed the company of friendly people for once.
Until she begins to notice the disappearances. People all around her were slowly beginning to go missing, and all of the clues point back to a very specific location on the map — one that others may not have found suspicious, but to Chell, it was her worst nightmare.
After years of a peaceful life, the poor girl is forced back into the mess that she once tried so hard to forget, in order to save the new people that she's come to love from falling victim to the torture she had been put through.
And all the help she has... Comes in the form of an idiotic blue core, who, after the last incident, is definitely less than trustworthy. Why couldn't he have stayed in space?
I hope it sounds somewhat original. I fear that I have become too far attached to Blue Sky to make up my own original ending. Hopefully this doesn't sound too close...
Honestly I just really want a chance to write Wheatley, he's so adorable okay
And it seems really easy I mean all you have to do is make a sentence, then add as many words as you can to make it a billion times longer than it should be. And add in 'mate' and 'bloody' a couple times. Can't forget that.
Also, for all three ideas, should I write in third or first person POV? I really enjoy writing in first person, yet at the same time, I'd like to get more familiar with third. Which POV would be better for each idea?
If you have suggestions for other fandoms that you know I'm in that think I'd be interested in writing about, leave them in the comments and I'll take them into consideration.
I apologize for the three shitty descriptions but I put them together in like 20 minutes and the real thing will be a billion times better, I promise.
I'm sorry if you follow me just for MLP stuff, but I've become increasingly less interested in the show, and I feel like the only thing that kept me writing Awoken was my love for Glaze's music and my own OCs. Can't say that series was very MLP related anyways, other than being in their universe.
Anyways, choose whichever you'd like to see from me, and I'll get started on it when I have time. Thanks.
