*Amy's pov*

I woke up with a pain in my chest. It's confirmed. Shadow is my mate. If your away from your mate to long it hurts. I jump out of bed and get dressed in a black t-shirt, blue jeans, and running shoes. I said bye to everyone and ran out of the house. Then I realized something. I have no idea where he lives.

My wolf form should know where he is. I changed and let it take over.

When I get back in control I see a nice house. I walk up to the front door and knock. I heard foot steps coming and then the door opened.

"Hello. Who are you?" asked a young hedgehog who looked no older than ten. He's orange with black circles around his blue eyes.

"My name is Amy. I'm here to see Shadow," I told him. He looked at me wide eyed.

"Your the alpha!" he said amazed. "Wow. Never thought I'd meet you! Especially at my house. My names Aron." He said backing away from the door to let me in.

"How do you know this?" I asked. His smile reached his ears.

"I was admitted last ceremony when I was 4. It was so weird. Mom and dad told me not to tell Shadow and Maria." he said.

So that's why they don't know anything... "Well may I see Shadow?"

"Of course. You are his mate. Let me get him," he walked off to the stairs. "SHADOW! YOUR MATES HERE!" He yelled then smiled at me. "I'll leave you too alone." he ran into a room that looked like a study.

Then a moan came from the stairs. "Who's here?" Shadow asked. Then he looked at me and his face brightened up. "Oh, hey Rose. Sorry, I've been in a bit of an achey state." he said. I smile and let out a small chuckle.

"That's just because mates that aren't mated yet have a tendency to be attached and can't be apart to long." I said. He looked shocked.

"We're mates? What does that mean?" He asked worriedly. I laughed, took his hand and looked into his eyes.

"It means I'm your other half, the second part of your whole. Your my yin and I'm your yang! We just fit," I told him holing both his hands then giving him a kiss on the cheek. "And nothing can separate us." He smiled and leaned down and kissed my lips tenderly.

"Then we should go do something, yang." We laugh and walk out of his house and down the road, hand in hand.

"What do you want to do?" I asked him. He looked at me and then the ground.

"Have you ever riden a horse before?" he asked. I looked quizzically at him.

"Yes, I have. I actually own a horse." I say to him.

*normal pov*

"When you said riding I thought you meant english not western." Amy yells at him. She was on a bay thoroughbred (yes, that's a type of horse color. Not just a random word.) in a western saddle. He laughed.

"You should have told me you ride english then!" Shadow yelled back. He was on a gray lipizzan.

She gave a nasty look then sighed. "Let's ride." she told him.

*after the ride*

"That was fun," Amy said. Shadow smiled at her. "But I still like english better." He groaned.

"You jerk." he told her. They laughed and put the horses away.

"My turn to choose what we do." Amy said. She smiled widely at him.

"Should I be scared?" He questioned her, not trusting the look she gave him.

"You'll be fine, you baby!" Amy said. She took his hand and pulled him away from the barn to the forest. "We're just meeting the pack!"

Shadow gulped. "The wolf pack," he asked nervously.

"Yeah. You were going to have to meet them eventually and now is a good time." She replied back to him.

He sighed and said, "Fine, lets go..." Amy smiled and changed into her wolf form.

*shadows pov*

We reached the edge of the forest and Rose transforms. Wow. She's beautiful. She's a white wolf with bright green eyes and a black nose. She's also really big. She bends down and gestures for me to get on. When I did I noticed she was very soft. She gently lifted up and started running. She had a long lopey stride. After about 20 min. we made it to clearing with small houses in it.
