Part 205: Compress's soliloquy
Hawks didn't know anything, and a quick survey of their other Pro friends revealed that only Endeavor had heard of it.
He hadn't thought it would matter to them, or that they wouldn't know, so he'd made no mention of it.
"I guess he's still not great at communication..." Hawks said.
"Arrogant prick," Mirko said, "You'd think he'd think to at least check in with other Top Pros."
"Yeah...you'd think," Hawks said pointedly.
They were on a roof talking about this. Mirko glared at him over the wall.
"So now what?" Hawks wondered, "I don't see what we could do to stop it."
"Stop the Originals themselves," Mirko said, "That's all we can do. We're going to find them."
She snapped a carrot in half. "And finish this."
"We barely handled a small, mostly peaceful outpost in Canada. How would you expect to handle whatever HQ they have here?" Hawks said.
"I'll find a way."
"No, you'll get yourself captured and brainwashed like that Shiogazi girl," Hawks said, "All of us could have that happen to us."
Mirko shook her head. "Likstar and West have a way to resist that quirk... Maybe they could pass that on."
"I don't think that's how abilities work."
"No, it is how theirs work," Mirko said, "They've said so. They taught the kids that. You know how that Momo girl can heal people now?"
"I thought that was just her quirk working in a different way. That's a new thing?" Hawks said.
"Yes, do your research, Birdbrain," Mirko said.
"You're really not going to be deterred," Hawks said.
"Nope." Mirko turned around. "But if you're chickening out again, go ahead. I'm not asking you to help."
"I don't doubt it. But you're going back to the League and getting them, aren't you?" Hawks said.
Mirko paused. "And?" Dangerously.
"I just don't get what you see in them," Hawks said, "other than it's edgy."
"I'm done arguing about this." Mirko clenched a fist. "Whatever your reason is, I don't want to hear it anymore."
"You know what? Whatever." Hawks gestured widely. "I give up. Good luck... Call me if you get a lead, and I'll pitch in. I guess that's all there is to do now."
Mirko walked away without another word and jumped off the roof.

When she got back to the new house (lair really didn't seem appropriate) she thought all the League would be there, but Medea and Spinner reported that Compress had gone out. And Shigaraki had gone with him.
"On a lead?" Mirko was hopeful.
Spinner shook his head. "Compress got really depressed after our little meeting about the Origi-ninja--"
Mirko glared at the name.
"I mean the ninja," Spinner amended hastily, "and he started whining about needing a drink, and then he left, and the Boss said he was going to do something dumb and went after him."
"Why not send you?" Mirko said.
"I didn't want to go," Spinner said.
"B---- a--." Mirko rolled her eyes.
"I think Compress would go to a bar, right?" Medea said, with interest, "Want me to go after him?"
"Oh, no, you don't," Mirko said, "You think you're getting away with that s---? Not on my watch. You keep your head on straight, you little pest."
"But they left, like, 3 hours ago. Where were you anyway?" Medea said.
"I was actually working. I found out a lot of heroes we know were out of the loop," Mirko said, "and that had to be on purpose. Likstar and West weren't available yet. They went on a date, but once they call back, I'm sure they'll have and idea how they knew to leave us all out."
"Oh, I think I know what they'll say," Medea said, "It's the rat!"
"Rat?" Spinner said.
"Mole, whatever he is," Medea said, "The students mentioned they don't trust the principal. He's like a bear or mouse or something."
"Of course." Mirko's ears went back. "I forgot about him...but he knows all of the UA staff and their connections, I bet. You know, I never liked him. Always weirded me out. He's a real animal, you know."
"That is weird," Medea said.
"Wait, how does he talk, then?" Spinner said.
"Illegal experimentation," Mirko said, "Surprised The Doctor's not in on that, giving quirks to animals."
"Who says he isn't?" Spinner said.
They all shuddered.
Mirko tapped her foot. "Well, I don't want to wait on this. We all need to have a serious talk."
"But why is it so urgent?" Spinner said, "So what if they kill off the Metas? It's too bad, but it's not our problem, and they might leave us alone for a while longer. This is the longest we've gone without something happening. The Boss could finish his treatment that keeps getting interrupted by all this."
Mirko winced noticeably. "And you think that would be a good thing?"
"Well, it might help," Spinner said.
"Oh, sure," Mirko said, "It might help who, Spinner? You? You think if that Doctor gets into Shigaraki's head, it's going to end well for you?"
"Well...uh..." Spinner faltered.
"And he totes will," Medea agreed, "just like Kurogiri. And what if he tries that on the rest of us?"
"I thought that's why the Boss was doing it instead," Spinner said.
"And you're really just gonna let that happen?" Mirko was utterly disgusted.
"Why does it bother you? You're not one of us." Spinner was salty.
"I might not be, but I pay my dues. Letting that happen to someone who provided me a place to stay and protection and all the rest, would be a despicable thing to do," Mirko said.
"But you're not that different from us in that way, and you haven't stopped anything," Spinner said.
Mirko got a strange look in her eye. "Uh huh...but you act as if it's nothing."
"What could I do about it even if I think Ujiko is shady as frick?" Spinner said, "I mean, he does remind me of a supervillain in a comic a little too much..."
"Nerd," Medea said.
"Twit," Spinner shot back.
"Shut up, both of you," Mirko said.
They eyed her silently.
"So you don't care about anyone other than yourself, huh?" Mirko said slowly, "What did I expect? The Metas are just enemies too, huh? I'm not a fan of them either, but they were people. At the end of the day, that's who I'm supposed to protect. And they're being persecuted by the ninja just for having quirks, same as the rest of us. Is it really a win for the heroes or the LOV if that happens? Less people to oppose the Originals that way."
Spinner looked down.
"I'm going to go find them," Mirko said, "Any idea where they'd go?"
"Probably just the closest they could find," Medea said, "Underground, anyway. Sure you should go alone?"
"Nah, not really," Mirko said, "but someone has to. That idiot Compress shouldn't be exposing himself like this... Is he the type to drink himself into oblivion if he's depressed?"
"Well...he has gotten a bit tipsy in the past when he had the chance, but I wouldn't say he's a heavy drinker," Spinner said, "but he's been so down about Silk leaving, he could do anything."
"And Boss Man won't stop him," Medea said, "I seriously doubt he's ever even seen that before. Heck, for all I know, he thought Compress was going to investigate a lead."
That did sound like Shigaraki's typical cluelessness about normal stuff.
"Yeah, someone has to go," she said, "Spinner, how about you help?"
"Me? Why not Twice?"
"Do you really think Twice can pull that off?" Mirko said.
"Twice is talking to himself in his room anyway," Medea said, "not very lucid... He's so scatterbrained these days."
"Fine, I'll go," Spinner sighed, "but I'm only doing it for the Boss. I think Compress is being a real pansy about this."
"That makes two of us," Mirko sighed.
[Big talk coming from two people who've never experienced it, just saying.]

While they were looking, Shine did call her back.
"Your message said it was urgent. Sorry, we were out. Music was loud."
"Well, no one's dying--that we know," Mirko said, "but..." She explained while she was hunting Spinner down the street.
He came out of a different place and motioned her over. He'd finally found the right spot.
"Oh my gosh...how horrible," Shine said.
"Yeah...be honest with me--is this our fault?" Mirko said.
"You're asking me? I thought you'd be the first to say it wasn't."
"I can't tell anymore. The ninja tricked us so many different ways already."
"It's not our fault, Rumi. We fought our own battle. They're fighting a different one. We happened to make it easier. This stuff happens in war, but the Metas picked on Hawks first. I pity them though. My people have a history of making peace with our enemies after war, and this is sad."
"Not all of them might have been killers," Mirko said.
"I'd say most of the ones they're picking off now wouldn't have been," Shine said, "Unable to call each other for back up... If we'd intended this, it would have been a brilliant though heartless tactic on our part. But even so...well, will the League really wish to help?"
"I have no idea if they'll give a d---, but they'll be involved one way or the other sooner or later, so we're going to have to talk about this," Mirko said, "At the very least they're not going to get in our way... Of course, Magic Man had to pick tonight to go out and get hammered over a breakup."
"Oh no... Was someone with him?"
"Yeah, Shigaraki. Worst person."
"No, there's worse. But not good," Shine said, "Be careful, Rumi. If Compress goes off blindly, it would be bad. I'm not sure he's the type, but people are so different when they're upset."
"And not sober."
"Do you want us to help?"
"No, a couple of light weights like you are no good in a situation like this," Mirko said, "but I gotta go. Spinner found them. Once we get this handled, we all need to talk."
"Yeah, we'll be on standby. Good luck."
Mirko hung up.

Shigaraki hadn't been really clear on what "drowning my sorrows" meant until Compress had gone into this pub.
The setting itself was nothing that shocking to Shigaraki. After the other messed up things he'd seen, he took no notice of it whatsoever, but what was disturbing was Compress unraveling.
The way Compress unraveled wasn't really so sad as it was melodramatic.
"When my love swears that she is made of truth,
I do believe her, though I know she lies,
That she might think me some untutored youth,
Unlearnèd in the world's false subtleties,"
he muttered to himself.
[Which is from Shakespeare's sonnet 138. It's rather fitting for their whole relationship. Can read whole sonnet here: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems/50386/sonnet-138-when-my-love-swears-that-she-is-made-of-truth]
What the heck was he saying?
"Have a few, Sir," he said blandly, "It's poor entertainment to sup alone...always..."
Shigaraki didn't get what he meant by that either, but Compress was kind of lowkey scaring him, so he obliged... It wasn't pleasant.
[Proof Shigaraki is always doing stupid things because someone in the League says it's a good idea, I notice.
Also this is peer pressure at its finest, if any kids are reading this. Don't drink because someone tells you it's a good idea.]
"Don't you think it would be better to leave...?" he tried in vain to reason with the performer.
"Why?" Compress sighed, "What does it matter? One place is as good as another."
"Lady troubles?" the bartender, who seemed rather nice for someone working at such a shady establishment, asked congenially.
The place was crawling with lowlifes, so no one had looked twice at them. And no one did now.
"Frailty, thy name is woman." Compress couldn't keep off the Shakespeare references.
[That one is from Hamlet, by the way.]
"That's rough, buddy," said the bartender, "Too bad. She dump you?"
"She left me. Without a word of explanation," Compress said.
"That's cold, sir." The bartender shook his head. "Maybe you're better off without a broad like that. I had that happen once--ghosted me for months. Then they come back to you when they're bored."
"No, that's not very likely," Compress said.
"Well, you know, eventually you can move on and find someone new," the bartender said sagely.
Shigaraki didn't get what they were talking about... He had of course, some vague idea that Compress was sorry about Silk, and that they'd been close, and he sort of knew, after Medea's little talk, what dating was, but he hadn't the faintest inkling of emotional intimacy between couples or why it would upset Compress this badly...or why apparently it was a common enough experience for the bartender to have had it also.
And not just him--a guy at the counter next to them joined in uninvited. "Women are the worst, aren't they? I just got dumped too, man. It sucks, doesn't it?"
"I didn't expect it to end so abruptly," Compress said forlornly, "I knew it would end at some point, but I thought, you know, we'd mutually agree on it. Not just...be cut off. Like nothing more than rubbish."
"I hate it when that happens," the guy at the counter agreed, "though it can be worst, too. She could have left you for someone shinier."
"Perhaps she did," Compress said.
"It's so hard." The guy at the counter started crying. He was pretty wasted.
"It truly is," Compress agreed, downing another shot.
Shigaraki found this disturbing...and he was starting to feel kind of weird himself, though it hit him later, maybe because of his enhancements. He felt confused, mostly.
"I don't know what you're all so upset about," he said, "People ditch you. It's nothing that unusual. Just look at Dabi."
He shouldn't have said that out loud...but it was too loud in there for them to have heard him that well, and they didn't take any notice of it.
"Eh, listening to you, I can tell you've never had a girlfriend," the bartender said.
"Eh, look at him. You think he would have?" the other guy laughed.
"Perhaps he's better off that way," Compress said, "Women are nothing but trouble."
"True," the bartender said.
"So are men," a woman a little farther down the counter said coolly.
The counter guy looked at her. "Break up?"
"Yeah," she said, "I hate men."
"At least we don't play games," the guy said.
"Oh, yes, you do," the woman said, "Stop passing the buck. Maybe you just didn't treat your girls right."
"Maybe you didn't treat your man right," the bartender said coyly.
She shrugged. "Maybe. At least I'm thinking about it. You all are are bunch of sadsacks. Makes me sick to listen to you." She huffily turned away.
"I think women treat men the worst," the counter guy blathered on, "and they think it's okay because they're cute."
"Eh, let's not get carried away," the bartender said, "Don't start a fight. People around here itch for a fight."
"Let them come at me. I'm ready," the guy proclaimed.
"Ah, shut up," someone behind them said.
"You want to go---?" The guy began to curse him out.
The person got up and took a swing at him. The guy ducked, then retaliated.
In about 5 seconds flat, half the room around them was up on their feet and joining him.
The bartender rolled his eyes and ducked behind the counter.
Compress didn't really take any notice of what was going on until someone made him spill, then he just turned around and turned pretty much all of them into marbles.
Shigaraki rubbed his head. "Was that really necessary?"
"It was getting too loud to hear myself think," Compress slurred, "You know, I think I've got it. It's simple when you think about it. Men, women--it doesn't matter. Some people will just use you no matter what and spit you back out, and the whole world is like that..."
"Yeah," a lot of people who were listening to him, now that he'd shrunk half the room, agreed.
"They don't really care who they hurt, if they get what they want," Compress went on.
"Yeah!" they all agreed again.
"So I say, if they're going to treat everyone how they wish, they should get it back to them twice as much," Compress said.
"Yeah!"
"They ought to see that people can't just be ignored and tossed aside. We have feelings," Compress said, "and if they want to treat us like animals and take a shot, they should not miss, because there is nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal."
More cheers.
"And we'll bite back," Compress added.
More cheers--and then people started fighting again.
Compress didn't seem to care this time.
Shigaraki leaned away as someone was flung into the counter next to him. "This is fine mess you've started, Compress," he said. He felt kind of hot and tired now. "How are we going to get out of here through that?"
"Oh, they'll tire themselves out eventually..." Compress leaned on the counter. "It isn't of much significance. It's a good curtain call..."
"Another round, gentlemen." The bartender resigned himself to the situation.

"What in the blue blazes...?" Spinner said, when he and Mirko came into to an all out brawl, "This...this wasn't like this two minutes ago. I thought Compress was just talking."
"Maybe he started a riot." Mirko ducked as a bottle flew over her ears. "Figures he couldn't even drink without being extra."
"I wasn't ready for this," Spinner whined.
"Oh, grow a pair, Spinner," Mirko said, "This is nothing--not as bad as a cage fight, lots of places to move around. Just follow me. I'll take few of these morons out on the way."
"But you're a Top Pro." Spinner blocked her. "If someone recognizes you, it'll be bad."
"They'd probably run," Mirko said, "They don't have guns. If they had guns, they'd be using them by now."
"Well...I guess," Spinner said.
"But just in case, how about you find a back entrance. Usually there's one by the bathrooms," Mirko said.
"How do you know that?" Spinner said.
"You think I've never been in a place like this before?" Mirko snorted.
She started making her way through the crowd, shoving people aside into tables or just jumping over them.
Sure enough, people began to notice her, and most of them booked it when they did.

"Hi," Mirko said in the tone every teenager dreads.
Compress and Shigaraki looked up.
"Can I help you?" Compress said, "You want to be a marble too?" He lurched at her.
Mirko dodged easily and smacked him into the floor. "Idiot," she said.
"What are you doing here?" Shigaraki said.
"Why do you sound...?" Mirko eyed the counter. "Oh, for the love of---Both of you are morons. Is this your idea of keeping a low profile?"
"Can I help you, ma'am?" the bartender asked.
"Yeah, you can go die. Save me the trouble," Mirko said.
The bartender did a double take. "I'll let you handle it." He backed up to the far end of the counter.
"Tell him, girl." The one lady from before toasted her.
"Someone shoved me..." Compress whimpered.
"Get up," Mirko said, gesturing at both of them, "We have s--- to do. Not that you're going to be in any shape to do it, but there's no time."
Someone lurched at her from behind. She back-handed them without even looking. "Move."
Shigaraki actually got up rather obediently for him. Compress didn't. Mirko grabbed him.
"I'll compress you, b----..." Compress said.
"Touch me and you'll be regretting it for weeks." Mirko gave him a rough jolt. "If you were sober you'd think better of it. But since I trust you not at all," she shoved him in front of her, "march."
"You can't make me do it!" Compress said, "I don't have to listen to you. You're not one of us."
Some people began looking their way.
"Compress, shut up," Shigaraki spoke up.
"I wasn't saying anything that wasn't true," Compress said, "Don't you agree?"
Mirko rolled her eyes. "Didn't miss this part of not going to college..."
Shigaraki seemed to notice the hostility in the room.
Thinking less clearly than usual, perhaps, he grabbed Mirko's arm before she could stop him.
"She is one of us, Compress. Stop talking nonsense. It's time to get out of here," he said.
Compress huffed, but with great false dignity he said, "Fine. But I'm only doing this because of your insistence, not that woman." He stalked towards the door unevenly.
Luckily Spinner was waiting and able to grab him and yank him outside without further incident.
They followed.
"You can let go now." Mirko jerked her arm.
Shigaraki let go.
"Both of you are so stupid!" Mirko shoved both of them against the wall. "On top of this being a stupid idea, we had actual serious matters to attend to tonight."
"Go away..." Compress said.
"You shut up," Mirko said, "You can just keep it buttoned up till you sober up."
"Should we try dashing him with cold water?" Spinner really just wanted to pay him back for that trashcan incident.
"Maybe we should just find a lake and shove him in," Mirko said.
"Oh, I saw a bridge on the way here," Spinner said.
"Perfect," Mirko said.
Now normally that would have been an idle threat, but they weren't nice enough for that, and they actually followed through on it.
Compress was not happy, but the cold water did shock him a bit into being more alert.
"What on earth was that for?" He was mad.
"You know." Mirko crossed her arms. "Now if you're ready, let's get back to the house and pray no one noticed us."
"Why did you come in at all?" Compress grumbled.
"Why did you?" Spinner said.
"I don't want to hear if from you, Spinner. You cold hearted, cold blooded reptile," Compress said.
"He's mean drunk." Spinner was unmoved.
"And you're dumb sober," Mirko said.
"Hey!" Spinner cried, "I helped, didn't I?"
"Oh, yeah, so much. Just get him up," Mirko said, "I hope Medea's in bed already..."
Shigaraki had been stumbling quite a bit on the way and hitting Mirko in the process, though she ignored it with surprising patience, but now he slipped on the bank of the stream's downhill slope.
"Hey!" Mirko grabbed him and yanked him back. "Knock it off." She spun him around. "This way, Stiff."
Shigaraki was pretty mellow about this whole process... He just stared at her blankly.
"Hello? Something wrong?" Mirko gave him a slight jerk.
"Why are you always angry?" Shigaraki asked, not as if he really cared that much.
"Wha--?" Mirko was caught off guard. "I--because people pull dumb s--- like this."
"Sorry," Shigaraki said meekly.
Spinner shot Mirko a weird look like, "Is he drunk?"
Mirko returned it with an "I don't know..." shrug.
"Whatever. It's mostly Compress's fault," she dismissed it. She let go.
"Just stop tripping, literally. And stop staring."
"Your eyes are red," came the next random comment.
"No, they aren't." Mirko put a hand to her face. She hadn't been crying today, unless she got dust in them or something.
"Yes, they are," Spinner said, like she was crazy.
"What? Oh, wait, you meant the color," Mirko blinked, "It's more pink...like a white rabbit. Wait, what's the big deal? Yours are too."
Shigaraki didn't elaborate. He seemed already to have gotten distracted by Compress trying to stumble away from them.
Spinner grabbed him. "He's like a big child! I'm never doing this again, Bunny Girl."
"Oh, shut up," Mirko said, "Just keep walking."
* * *
Medea wasn't in bed.
"Oh, wow..." she said, "Well...are they going to be ready to meet?"
"I don't know, but at this point, we're just lucky if the cops don't show up here," Mirko said.
Compress slunk away to put on dry clothes.
Shigaraki just sat down meekly.
"He seems...oddly calm," Medea said.
"I guess that's the effect it has on him," Mirko shrugged, still weirded out by before, "Better than him going nuts, I mean, with his quirk... I saw a bunch of marbles in there. Compress got a little carried away. Let's just hope he didn't bring any uninvited guests home with him."
That would have been one weird thing to have happen in your bedroom or bathroom...
Shine and Wally arrived not too long later. Though they were thinking it might be a bad time.
"Geez, I didn't know Compress was that depressed," Wally said, "I guess you should just start calling him Depress instead."
No one laughed.
"Well, if you're ready to hear it, we did have one idea," Shine said, "but it's not how we usually operate."
"Can I just do the usual? I'm asking you for help so you're allowed," Mirko said.
"That out of the way, do you remember that one time you captured a ninja?" Shine said.
"Yeah, and she spilled about--" Mirko broke off. "Uh, about a lot of stuff she shouldn't have known about."
"Yeah, her. Karen, remember?" Wally said, "I mean, I didn't know her real name, so that's what I called her."
"Hmm, it's too good for her," Shine said, "Spoiled, bratty, selfish, and whiny, but Karens aren't cold blooded killers."
"Oh, maybe they are." Wally made a face.
"What's a Karen?" Mirko said.
"I guess you're too old for that...or too young. Depends," Shine said.
"Old? I'm not old," Mirko said.
"I know what it is." Medea raised her hand. "It's like a super uptight b----."
"Language," Wally said.
"Dude, I don't give a frick," Medea said.
Shine fixed her with a stern look. "Watch your tone, young lady. You want to be part of the grown up discussion, you act with respect and maturity, or you can go to your room."
Medea looked at her is disbelief, then looked at Mirko.
Mirko shrugged like, "Whatever they say."
Medea bit her lip. "Whatever," she said by way of agreeing.
Shine gave Mirko a really smug look like, "And that's how it's done."
"Anyway," Shine gestured as if to move on, "so we never tried to find her again, but I'm thinking maybe she's not shrouded. The kidnapped victims always are, but that could be on purpose. By now, I might be building up a tolerance for it anyway. So there's a chance. If she's alive and with them, I'd bet money she'd know about all this. Even might know about Silk. But it's a long shot."
"Sounds worth it," Mirko said, "if you could get her to talk."
"If we can't, I'm sure one of you could," Shine said, "and if that doesn't work, well, I don't know. Normally we get our answers."
"It's the only idea we got," Wally said, "How else will we track these guys down?"
"Then, yeah, do it," Mirko said.
"I'm for it," Spinner offered, "Uh...if we're involved here... Are we involved, Boss?"
Shigaraki looked up. "Involved in what?"
"Maybe you should run this by him tomorrow," Shine said.
"You know, he's kind of funny like this," Wally said.
Shine smacked his arm. "Wally!"
"What?" Wally rubbed his arm. "I mean normally he's all like 'I hate you all!' and now he's just chill."
Even that didn't get a response.
"An interesting point," Shine said, "Your inhibitors are removed by alcohol for most people, so many of them get meaner, if they're normally fake nice. My dad becomes absolutely impossible to rein in, and he's mean already." She shook her head. "But if you're not that type, then you can just be in higher spirits. Some people are quite congenial. It's interesting psychology."
"Why do you find a way to make everything about that?" Mirko said, "It's weird. And boring."
"I think it's fun," Shine said, "but I don't really take it all that seriously. It's like a game to me."
"Well, you are really good at it," Wally said nicely, "It's cool, huh?" This to Mirko, Medea, and Spinner.
"Very intimidating," Spinner said by way of a compliment.
"Why aren't you a therapist?" Medea asked.
"I didn't like the idea of not being able to be honest with people about what I thought of them," Shine said.
"Wow..." Medea said, "But Cece is--"
"The exception. And that's why she's fun." Shine said.
"She's rude," Mirko said.
"And you aren't?" Wally said, "Just saying."
"I'm not a therapist though," Mirko said, "and I would never be one."
"Never say never," Shine laughed.
"I guess we should go, then," Wally said, "Unless you guys want us to stick around."
"You totally should watch a movie with us," Medea said, "We've got a ton of American films on here."
She turned on the TV.
"Oh, cool, Die Hard," Wally said.
"Boring," Shine and Medea both said.
"The Princess Bride! Now there's a classic," Shine said.
"As you wish," Wally said, "At least it's got a cool sword fight."
"And a giant," Shine added.
"Well, it doesn't sound so bad," Mirko said.
"You'll try to stay awake?" Shine made some kind of joke she didn't get, but Wally cracked up. "Thanks for the vote of confidence."
"Cool." Medea settled in.
Medea fell asleep halfway through the movie because she was exhausted from training.
Mirko thought she'd be bored with all the true love crap, but then the suspense got to her, and she ended up wide awake for the ending.
Spinner actually stayed in for it too and rooted for the Spaniard.
Shigaraki sat there, but whether or not he was paying attention was hard to say.
[You think they'll find the Karen?
Well, that and more drama coming up in the next few chapters.]
