Before Kurin could reply the second phase gate open.

~Now~

Two people were shown. A female sitting at a sofa chair behind her was a male four-time the size of the female with a grumbling stomach.

"Thank you for waiting. How is it? Buhara, are you getting hungry now?"

*Stomach grumbling*" As you can hear, I'm starving, Menchi."

"We, the gourmet hunters, are in charge of evaluating phase two."

"Gourmet hunters?"-Leorio

"What is that?"-Gon

" Gon, a gourmet hunter search for all kinds of ingredients throughout the world to create a new cuisine. Also the hunter, themselves are good at cooking."-Kurin

"So that means the subject is...."-Hanzo

"Right, the subject for phase two is.... cooking."

"COOKING?!!!" All the people expect for some.

"Cripes! Why the hell do I have to cook after reaching this far?!"-number 255 said.

Kurin's pov

'Oh, it's cooking. The number of people passing will be less since quite a lot don't know how to cook.' I thought and only hear that if both of them say the dish is " delicious", we pass phase two. The man, Buhara order a whole roasted pig.

The forest we in, if I remember the name. It should be Visca Forest Preserve, the only pig is the great stamp. 'Wow, he is cruel from how he looks.'

The others look like it that hard when they find the pigs. I already accomplished.

"For roasting a whole pig, 72 people passed!"

'Now, will be the hard part. These people are looking down on Menchi who's a one-star hunter known as a supreme gourmet hunter. Well, I want to be a gourmet hunter so I study a lot.'

"The second half of phase two.! I'm going to order... Sushi!"

"SUSHI?!!"

I sigh. So it had to be nigiri sushi. I went and catch my fish while others still thinking. 'Kyo, you had to guess what it's Sushi. Mom can't help you.'

After catching some fish from the river, I saw others rushing to catch. 'Oh, they know. Kurapika must have remembered the book about sushi that I was reading to him.'
Others trying by going up with something different and I notice Killua and Hisoka make the same thing.

I giggle a bit. While going back to finish my sushi. Seeing this scene.

I'm finishing making mine but the number 294 spill everything out due to menchi advise him to do again.

So now menchi had to taste others with similar shape sushi. I saw Kyo go up with his but end up almost pass but he presses the rice too hard.

3rd pov

Others stopped what they were doing as they glance at the female holding her plate to Menchi.
Menchi looks at the plate with stars in her eyes and says "Wow, however, it looks decent enough but the most important is the taste."

So she tastes it. The first word out of her mouth was "delicious", she even describes the food and the ingredients that been use.

Menchi said," You pass number 43! Do you wish to become a gourmet hunter?"

Kurin replied with a nod.

Others keep trying till Menchi suddenly said, "I'm full!" They all started complaining.

"As I said, it doesn't matter. Just tell the committee what I said. Only one person pass!"

Kurin just sighs as Gon tried to ask Menchi to re-administer the test.

"No means No! This year's test is over!"

Number 255 shouted, "as I care about gourmet hunter, I only aim for blacklist hunter and nothing else."

Both Menchi and Kurin 💢💢💢.

Number 255 said, " I'm going to grab your necks and drag you to the exam committee to tell them that Gourmet Hunters are not qualified to be examiners."

"Do as you please..."

He ran toward Menchi, however, a scythe appears at his neck from behind.

"Mattaku, I'm can't allow that as well as belittle about Gourmet Hunters. Ne, can i kill you." Kurin said with bloodlust.

"Number 43, do not interfere."

"Hai!" 'Oh, Issac-Jiji is here.'

"Still, Menchi-Kun... Don't you think it's too harsh that only one person passed?"

"Eh!!" The others run out as they see a blimp with an emblem of the hunter association.

Kyo's pov

"It's been a while, chairman Netero" Menchi said.

I look at who was it, from Killua's side. Eh, Jiji is the chairman.

Jiji suddenly said, "Kurin-chan since you know me here, why don't you introduce me."

Mom came out from hiding and sigh.
"Ne, Kyo. Why does Kurin-san know the old man?"

Kurapika, as well as Killua and Leorio, also were curious.

"Well, he is my grandfather as well as Mother."

"Huh, wait does this mean Kurapika is related to him also."

"No, he not. We are not blood-related."

Mom then explains who Jiji is. Jiji also solves the problem letting all of us do the test again.

"All right... The subject is... Boiled egg!"

We were then bought to a mountain that been split in two.

Then Jiji explains what Menchi announced. When she came back with an egg of spider eagle.

I was excited along with Gon and Killua. Mom was excused as she already passes.

After getting the egg, i notice Hisoka was close to mom. I want to go there and drag her here but Menchi announced that the boiling for the spider eagle egg and normal egg are different.

Eating it, i can tell why it calls a dream egg.
