Chapter Five - Sounds... Familiar.
Sanguine watched as Myrkr and Cedric returned, Myrkr looking troubled. Myr's not one to get troubled easily... What did she want to talk to Cedric about and not me? He then remembered that she looked troubled ever since the nap she took on the transport. Whatever it was, Cedric didn't have any connections to it, at least, no visible ones. Sanguine walked over to Myrkr. "You okay?" he asked quietly.
"Hm?" Myrkr seemed to snap out of some thoughts. "Oh. Yes, I'm fine," she murmured.
Reluctantly, Sanguine left the subject alone. She obviously wasn't alright. "We'll be rooming with one of our roommates we were on the transport with, only since males are 'more prone to violence.' Cedric and I are in the same dorm, since his old roommate left. I assume you and Shimmer, Luna, and Maple will be sharing a room?"
"Sounds like it." Luna walked over. "Have you seen the familiars they have for us? They're supposed to be a form of ourselves. Naturally, mine will be a little night dragon." Luna gestured to Sanguine. "Yours will be a small ruby dragon, and Shimmer's will be a small ice dragon. Myrkr... I've never seen your kind before. You're the only one I've seen." Cedric walked past, and he must've heard, since he snorted softly. A flick of Myrkr's ears toward the lycanthrope told Sanguine that she heard it, too. Her gaze hardened slightly. What is it? This doesn't feel like this is part of her cover, it feels real. She is really annoyed by Cedric. Maybe I can ask him why, tonight.
"I never saw the familiars," Myrkr said. "And I don't see yours. Where are they?"
"They are creating them now. Since they are a part of the students, the students need to be present." Luna pointed back where the entrance was. "Over there. But they are going numarically. Do you guys have a number?"
Sanguine nodded. "They were given to us when we go on the transport. Mine was twenty-five, I think."
"Mine was..." Myrkr thought a moment. "I believe thirteen."
"Oooo," Shimmer said. "You're unlucky." Luna elbowed her. "Hey! It was a joke, okay? Sheesh."
Myrkr looked around. "Hey, where'd Cedric go? And Maple? I know Cedric is a second year here, but shouldn't he be here to help us a little still?"
"Well," Sanguine started, "maybe we should figure out where our dorms are? Myr and I can do that." He headed to a different welcome desk and got his dorm information, which Myrkr followed him. She was silent and her eyes were glazed over. "Myrkr, are you okay?" he asked.
Once again, Myrkr seems to be jarred from her thoughts. "I told you I'm fine, Sanguine. I promise." She grabbed her dorm information, studying it, and followed Sanguine back to the others.
When they reached Luna and Shimmer, Cedric was with them again. "I got the dorm information," Sanguine said.
"You probably didn't need it, since I know where it is." Cedric laughed, as did everyone, besides Myrkr.
Sanguine watched as she mimicked a happy smile, gave the dorm information to Shimmer, and slipped away, presumably to her dorm. Her emerald mist bag for a moment was truly clear. Sanguine saw something green in it, and guessed she grabbed some emeralds before she left the Revak Feykro. Though, the emeralds had gold in them, didn't they? I swear I saw the shimmer of gold. He watched her leave until she turned a corner, out of sight. When Sanguine turned back, he noticed that Cedric had watched her leave by the quick flick of his eyes back to the group.
I have a few things to talk about with him, it would seem. "Cedric, can you show me the way to our room?" He turned to the other two. "Luna and Shimmer, I saw Myr go down a hall. Maybe she's in your room?"

Myrkr made her way down the long corridor, map in hand. As she walked, she marked the shared dorm that she, Luna, Shimmer, and Maple would be sharing for later reference. Instead of heading to the room, she found her way to the Ziixi Academey library. The Mion Jungle Tribe dominated her thoughts.
When Myrkr entered the library, it wasn't what she had expected. The academy castle itself was made of the special stone of the Ziixi Mountains, but other than the door, no stone could be seen. The floor, under the purple-red carpet, felt like stone, but was nonetheless covered. The high ceiling and walls, even though the walls were covered by the bookcases, had a pulsing, neon, digital design that made the stony halls around the library seem far away. The neon designs were energy wires, pulsing cyan, blue, purple, red, and orange as different energies pulsed.
Myrkr didn't dwell on the light show long. Rows of computers were lined up in the center, and, as she made her way silently over to the computers, she watched the door, ears alert for anyone new. The computers themselves were screen-only, holographic devices. She slipped into the nearest seat that faced the door and keyed on the computer. Since Myrkr had never touched electronics as advanced as this, she had been worried the computer would prove too complex, but it was very simple. There were a few options, and she chose what seemed to allow her to search the Ziixi database.
"Mion Jungle," she murmured as she typed it in. What came up was more than Myrkr had expected, just like the interior of the library. "Race name, physiology, classified as mutant Mythics," she mumbled, skimming the information. "Queen, I already know. Wait." Just as she was about to glance over the information regarding the queen, she noticed something. "Her name, it's Tahl'dri? She said it was Ri'Shanita..." Above Tahl'dri's name, was Ri'Shanita, deceased predecessor of Tahl'dri. "That damned..what was the race name? Ci'mehia? That damned Ci'mehian Queen," she growled. She made her way back to the search part of the program, and typed in Night dragon abnormalities when she heard the soft sound.

Cedric tried to open the stone door quietly, but the creaking that came from it proved the action useless, even though it was too silent for a normal human to hear. Too bad he wasn't trying to sneak up on a human, but Myrkr.
Giving up on his attempt at stealth, Cedric opened the door. He didn't see her. But her scent led here. I still smell it, but this place is dead silent. Is she hiding? He closed the door. If Myrkr was hiding, he would find her. That is what he had been asked to do, after all. He followed her scent over to one of the computers, and saw it was active. Nothing was on the screen, though, but the search bar from the search tool. Myrkr's scent, too, was on the chair and computer, but that was where it ended.
"Damnit, where'd you go?" Cedric muttered, wondering what it had been that he interupted. Louder, he called to the seemingly empty library, "Myr, it's Cedric. Come on, I know you're in here."

Myrkr heard Cedric call, alright. She stayed where she was, on the lights over the library that she hadn't noticed before. They were sturdy, and easily held her weight. The lights were only over the computers, and she was above the computer she had been at. Myrkr had only seen the lights when she looked around for a means of hiding from the newcomer, which turned out to be Cedric. People, and Mythics, hardly ever look up, she thought, triumphantly. Then a thought struck her. Why am I hiding from Cedric? She shook her head, clearing the thought. Whatever the reason was, she had made it. All I can do now is focus on getting out. Good thing he didn't suspect that my path went up, since my scent will gather there on my chair.
"Myrkr, this isn't funny. Come on out, will you?"
From her perch, Myrkr watched Cedric through her cool, feline eyes. I'll do nothing of the sort. Why? I don't know.
The door creaked open again, and Myrkr noticed that Cedric looked toward it. She, however, crouched down to be hidden by as much of the light as possible, going as prone as possible. She couldn't see the newcomer.
"Hello, Cedric," a feline voice purred. Maple?
"What do you want?" Cedric asked, for some reason more collected than before.
"I heard you were looking for your new Ci'mehia friend, Myrkr."
"And that has to do with you why?" Myrkr heard his teeth were clentched.
"You remember what I talked to you about on the Cloudy Skies before we were let lose in the academy. You know, how Myrkr needs to go to Mion." Soft footsteps told the hidden Ci'mehia that Maple was pacing. "I intend to obey Queen Tahl'dri. You are a Ci'mehia, part of Mion, so you are requested to, too."
"What could I gain from this?" Cedric asked. Are you going to betray me?
"You could get reinstated as one of the Queen's Elites, and Lord. The hunt will end," her voice was soothing and convincing.
Cedric didn't seem taken by her voice. "Go back to the queen."
"Oh? Or else what?" Maple stopped pacing.
"You'll end up a memory, cat."
"You never could best me. Bring Myrkr to the courtyard tonight. We'll all go home." Maple's footsteps sounded again, and the door creaked. Cedric stood in silence, and Myrkr stayed where she was.
"Home?" Cedric murmured wistfully. "Reinstated Elite..." He walked out of the room as well, and Myrkr was alone.
"By the Immortal Oak, what in the Isles is going on?" She got down from the light silently and went back to the Mion Jungle data. "News... Lost Mionian Ci'mehians... Presumed noble status... Myrkr Mkhoal. Dammit. Well, seems I'm not the only Ci'mehia they are looking for. Not that I really care."
With nothing left to see about the Ci'mehia and the Tribe, Myrkr shut the computer off and left the library.

When Myrkr got to the dorm, right as she was about to open the door, Cedric opened the door. "Myr?!"
"This is the room I'm sharing," she replied, dryly, placing her hands on her hips.
Cedric closed the door behind him. "But you-- I couldn't--"
Myrkr snorted. "Find me? Yes, I noticed. I didn't like being snuck up on." She passed him by and shut the door, heading to her bed, and soon falling asleep with the murmurs of Luna and Shimmer barely registering.
