My mind still hadn't processed that weird dream when I opened my orbs and glanced at a mascular figure leaning on the bed. He had sat on the chair, his hands grabbing mine. The darkness surrounding in the room made it impossible to glance at his face. Yet I knew, who he was but I had the urge not to accept it. Because accepting it would mean, accepting him as human. It would make me to show kindness towards him and I couldn't afford it. He was a criminal, the most wanted criminal.

The slight flash of thunder, sparkled a hint of light in the room. Giving a slight glimpse to his face. We were in close proximity on various incidents but I had never glanced at his face, carefully. His dominating, arrogant presence never allowed me! He would always be so intimating to even allow me to glance at his face with a clear mind.

He was handsome and I never doubted on it. But handsome wasn't a only characteristics that attracted me towards male gender. He needed to be more than just good looking. Kind, fragile, friendly, caring, understanding. Human! And Mr. Oberoi was anything but human? I highly doubted on that concept yet as I glanced at his face. The sleeping figure gave glimpse to his inner self. The fragile, exhausted self. The one who was exhausted with his life, tired and was carving to rest.

I shook my head at my weird thoughts! He was a criminal and I had to remind myself about it. Criminals weren't human. They destroyed people! They killed people and they should he hated and should vanished from the world. Or they would make the world a living hell!

I attempted to get my hands out of his grip. I despised his touch, it made me feel disgusted. But his grip was tight, the hold was tight. My struggles turned useless before his strength. He hissed in disapproval as I had succeeded in pulling away from him. His orbs opened, his eyes on alert, scanning the room in danger until it came and rest on my features.

Those high-alert orbs soften as his orbs found me. That exhausted face signing in relief. He grabbed my palms in his, his large ones rubbing my soft ones. "Why are you so cold?" He wasn't asking me but questioning himself. He seemed different at the moment, he seemed scared, frightened, nervous. He seemed human as he was staring at me in concern.

"Leave me..." I jerked my hands from his grip.

His face devoid of emotion stared at me. Those black orbs staring at me in arrogance. The Mr. Oberoi was back! He stood from the chair and without wasting a second walked out of the room.

"How are you?" Diya was staring at me in concern. "Does it still pains?" She was staring at my bandaged arm.

I denied while passing a smile at worried Riddhi. She hadn't attempted to move towards me. She stood at the corner, grabbing the edge of Diya's kurti as if she was scared of getting near me.

"Riddhi," I called her. I couldn't glimpse the worry written on her face. I felt the need to wash off her anxiety, "come here..." I gestured her to move towards me.

"No," she muttered in fear. "I won't, it will cause you more pain." She mumbled, the pain was visible in her tone. "Dada had said to not trouble you."

"You're not troubling me," I stared at her in adoration. She was so understanding at such a small age. "Come here," I gestured her to come towards me. "Your presence fills me with peace dear, you can never be a trouble for me."

She hesitated for a minute before taking a step towards me. "Are you sure?" She raised her brow in worry. I gave her a nod in assurance. "You promised that you won't leave me again, right?" Her beautiful set of black orbs were staring at me with hope.

"I won't ever leave your side," I promised her. I had promised it to myself. A promise that I won't leave her side no matter the situation. I won't allow Mr. Oberoi to destroy her life.

"Why did they fired those bullets on you?" Riddhi inquired, her orbs were filled with fear. "There was so much blood around you, so much..." I could visualise how terrific it could be for her. To witness that event, the chores happening around. Her shivering fingeres came and rested on my palms as her huge-large orbs were staring at me with unknown fear.

"Dada was so mad at them," her orbs were frightened. "He was yelling at them, shouting. I called him, thrice..." Riddhi was stammering, she was horror stricken. "He wasn't listening.... He grabbed you in his arms and walked away."

"Riddhi," Diya came and stood next to her. "Dada was so occupied with Mumma's injury, he couldn't hear you. Such a chores was happening around and you had your Nanny and Ronald Uncle by your side." Diya was attempting to assure Riddhi anxious heart. "At that moment, your mumma needed the uttermost attention, a bullet was fired towards her and she was bleeding."

"But, still..." I groaned in displeasure. "Mr Oberoi shouldn't have left her behind, there was danger awaiting for her."

Diya spared me a look that yelled that I better shut my mouth. "She wasn't left alone, her nanny didn't leave her side for a moment." She paused for a moment, "and danger wasn't waiting for her but you. I guess, you will believe that they want to harm you. If their target was her, you wouldn't have being harmed," Diya rolled her orbs at the end.

I acted as if her statement hadn't affected me. I attempted to keep my attention locked on Riddhi's cute blabbering but my mind would walk back to those incidents. How was I to believe that someone was targetting me? Someone was trying to harm me or they wanted to kill me.

I wasn't someone people admired or were fond off but I was certain that I hadn't committed any such sins so they hate me. Realising that someone wanted to harm me, someone despised me to such a level that they wanted to swipe my existence off the earth was concerning, very concerning.

Though I was lying on the bed, sleep seemed far off. I wasn't in a position to argue over the matter over me being transferred to Mr. Oberoi's room. I was very much occupied with things happening around. Why someone wanted to kill me? I couldn't swipe the thought away. Mayur? Was it him?

I knew Mr. Oberoi's presence beside me. He was lying on his side of bed, not attempting to inch closer. He hadn't uttered a word as he entered the room. He was aware that I was awake yet he had acted of me being invisible. I was glad he wasn't testing my patience unlike other times but providing me with the peace.

"Why they want to harm me?" I allowed the silence between us to break. I hoped, he had answers to my question. "What I had done to them?"

I met with silence I had given up on getting an answer when his rough voice filled the room. "Sometimes it's not our fault but people feel we are dangerous to them so want to swipe us off." I frowned at his statement. Why could my presence be dangerous? How could I be harmful?

The silence settled around us. "Do you know who they are?"

"I have my doubts," he trailed off.

"Like?" My heart was accelerating at highest speed. I had doubts too!

"It could either be due to me or again due to me..." He whispered, I turned to glance at him. His face devoid of emotions as he was staring at the ceiling, his head rested on his elbow which was placed on the pillow.

"What do you mean?" I inquired, he spared me a glance.

"Are you still obvious to the fact that I mean danger?" His orbs glaring at my direction. "Danger attract danger" his words were simple.

"And you're going to do nothing about it?" I stared at him in disbelief.

He frowned at my words, not understanding what I meant. "Your occupation is putting people connected to your life in danger and yet you're adamant to continue it!" I could just stare at him in utter horror. "What if I wasn't with Riddhi, they would have killed her just to destroy you!" I expressed my horror at the mere thought of it.

"They wouldn't have touched her," there was a huge confidence in his statement.

"They were going to kidnap her," I was attempting to put some sense in his dumb brain.

"If they wanted to kidnap her, they would have." He shook his head, as he averted his gaze back towards the ceiling of the room. "They had numerous chances to harm her but their target was you," he hissed at the end.

"Why would they target me?" I stared at him in disbelief. "I was mere wedding planner, you hadn't spread the fake rumors about us being married back than?"

He kept quiet not answering my confusion. I kept staring at him for answer, "it will be better if you go to sleep."

"I won't!" I argued, "I deserve to know stuff concerned to me." I met with silence, it was testing my patience. "I said, I want to know..." I almost yelled, he acted as if he was deaf. I was shooting daggers at him, he was least bothered about it.

"You're going to exhaust yourself," he spared a glance. "Go to sleep," he repeated his words.

"I won't!" I passed him a determined stare, he sighed as he moved towards me.

"Stop arguing..." He whispered as his face leaned towards mine. His warm breath fanning my soft senstive skin. His lips touching my earlobe. "And go to sleep, rose." That words were back. That nickname! It did something to me. It made me experience something I couldn't express. I couldn't put into words! Something weird yet beautiful.

He was so close, our nose touching eachother while his black orbs were staring mine. Being in such proximity with him, made me nervous.

"I want to go to my room," I whispered, my words rolling out in stammers. I hated the effect he had over me.

He sighed, his orbs moving to glance at my face before averting back to my orbs. His hands reaching to my face least bothered with the words I had uttered. Those rough fingers caressing my cheek while my orbs unlarging in horror. "Mr... Oberoi..." I was attempting to bring words out of my throat.

"Yes..." He mumbled as his intense orbs were fixed on me. Those black orbs conveying things his tongue wasn't expressing. The was it soften, made me feel things I wasn't planning to experience.

"Leave me..." At my statement, his grip over my waist, tightened.

"I am not allowing you to disappear from my sight even for a moment," his orbs had the determination. "Until I find the culprit," he promised as he leaned towards my face. My heart accelerating at the highest speed on the smallest peck on my forehead. His lips stayed a moment longer on my skin before I heard him sigh and moved away.

He wrapped his arms around my waist in a manner that it won't harm my injured shoulder. "Stop torturing your shoulder," he mumbled. "And go to sleep," he hummed as he nuzzled in my hair.

I attempted to calm my racing heartbeat. "Mr. Oberoi..." I pleaded, "please maintain some distance," I urged as my body was reacting weird to his touches. The logical part of me was yelling at me that this was inappropriate but I wasn't feeling uncomfortable under his proximity rather weird enough I felt safe.

He didn't paid heed to my request, his grip on me not planning to leave me any sooner. "I had an exhausting day, stop struggling and go to sleep," he mumbled as he placed a kiss on my earlobe.
