Chapter 39 :- Silk and Champagne
As the soft rays of morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, I gradually stirred from my slumber, feeling a weight on my chest. Gently, I opened my eyes to find Alice nestled against me, her head resting peacefully on my chest. But as I fully awakened, I realized she was sprawled across my entire body, her warmth enveloping me.
I sighed, gently eased her down beside me, careful not to disturb her slumber. As I settled onto the bed, waves of pain washed over my body from her weight pressing down on me.
Before I could fully contemplate the throbbing pain, Alice began to stir. Her eyelids fluttered open, revealing those captivating eyes that always seemed to hold a hint of mischief. A drowsy smile graced her lips as she stretched, her movements graceful yet languid.
"Good morning," she murmured, her voice soft and melodic.
My cheeks flushed at the sight of her, the intimacy of the moment stirring emotions within me. "Um... good morning," I replied.
But in an instant, the tranquility was shattered as Alice suddenly sat up, pushing me gently and effortlessly rolling on top of me. Her proximity sent my heart racing, her breath warm against my skin as she leaned in closer, her eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"So, what do you wanna do first?" she whispered, her voice teasing, playful and she bit her bottom lip seductively "Do you want breakfast? Or perhaps would you have me?"
When she finished, I swiftly flipped her over, reversing our positions so that now I was the one looking down at her.
A blush painted Alice's cheeks as she attempted to speak, her embarrassment evident in the stammer of her words. "I was just kidd-- " she began but her sentence was short cut by the firm grasp of my hands pinning her wrists above her head.
"It's too late now." I whispered as I leaned in to capture her lips in a gentle kiss. With her eyes closed, she surrendred the moment.
But before our intimacy could fully unfold sharp Knock at the door shattered the fragile bubble of our privacy disrupting the tender moment between us.
Knock knock
"Breakfast will be ready in 10 minutes lovebirds," the teasing voice came from beyond the door, a reminder of the world outside our private sanctuary.
She opened her eyes, let out sigh of exasperation her frustration evident at a small smile tuck at the corners of her leaves and said, "They interrupted last night too."
My cheeks flushed with embarrassment, and then we both let out a small chuckle. Reluctantly I released Alice from my grasp allowing her to sit up on the bed as I moved to join her.
"I know, but let's get ready, okay? We have a big day today," I said.
Despite the interruption, Alice's determination remained steadfast as she rose from the bed, ready to embark on the tasks of the day. With synchronized movements, we navigated the routine of morning rituals, taking turns to brush our teeth and indulge in the refreshing embrace of the shower.
As I emerged from the bathroom, clad in my own clothes, a sudden realization struck me – Alice had no attire of her own. Without hesitation, I offered her my black hoodie and jeans, a simple yet comforting gesture that spoke volumes of our burgeoning bond.
Minutes later, Alice reemerged from the bathroom, draped in my clothes with an effortless grace that took my breath away. She wore them as though they were tailor-made for her, a testament to her innate elegance and the undeniable chemistry between us.
With exchanged smiles brimming with unspoken understanding, we made our way outside the confines of our room, the promise of breakfast beckoning us to the kitchen.
There, Rachel, K, and Sho were already busy setting the table, their cheerful banter filling the air with a sense of camaraderie.
As Alice and Rachel exchanged a friendly handshake, we all took our seats around the table, anticipation mounting as Sho skillfully brought out plates laden with bacon, omelets, and toast, accompanied by steaming cups of tea. The sweet aroma of breakfast filled the room, enveloping us in a comforting embrace.
Amidst bites of delicious food and jovial conversation, Rachel, K, and Sho took turns getting to know Alice better, their genuine interest and friendly demeanor putting her at ease. I couldn't help but feel a swell of happiness in my chest at the sight of Alice seamlessly fitting in with our group, her presence adding an extra layer of warmth to our morning gathering.
As the last morsels of breakfast were savored and laughter echoed around the table, I began to rise from my seat, only to be interrupted by the insistent buzzing of my phone. With a frown of annoyance, I retrieved it from my pocket, my heart sinking as I saw the caller ID – Dr. Pervert.
After excusing myself from the breakfast table, I retreated to the sanctuary of my room, where Elizabeth's voice greeted me through the phone, her words laden with a sense of urgency and authority.
"Alvin, there's a big party at my mansion," she began, her tone serious and commanding. "Many important guests will be in attendance, and I need you to act as security. Keep an eye on everything – there might be cops and unwanted guests. I'm counting on you to handle them."
Well, she certainly doesn't know that today I'm playing dress-up as one of the cops!
With a calm demeanor, I replied, "Okay, I understand."
"Good," Elizabeth affirmed. "The party starts at 7 pm, so arrive a little early, around 5. I need you to be prepared, there will be a uniform waiting for you in Alice's room make sure to get it."
"Yeah, I'll be there," I assured her before she bid me farewell and ended the call.
This time, there were no quirky nicknames or playful banter – Elizabeth was clearly preoccupied with the preparations for her event.
Stepping out of my room, I relayed the details of the party to Rachel, K, Sho, and Alice, their expressions shifting to ones of determination and readiness. With a shared nod of agreement, we silently pledged to play our respective roles to perfection.
As we gathered in a huddle, fists bumping together in a show of solidarity, a surge of determination coursed through our veins. Elizabeth may have thought she had the upper hand, but little did she know, we were ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead.
Elizabeth is going down that's for sure.
---At 4 pm---
As the sun dipped low in the sky, casting long shadows across the bustling streets, we descended from our apartment onto the hot pavement below. It was a motley crew, comprised of myself, K, Sho, and Alice. Rachel had dashed ahead, her presence urgently required in the mansion's kitchen.
"Good luck, Alvin. Do your best," Kevin offered, a hint of encouragement in his voice.
I nodded in acknowledgment, his determination evident. "Yeah, I will. Try not to cause trouble for DCS."
Shoyo chimed in with a playful tone, "Yes, we won't. And Alvin, if you need our help, don't bother calling. We won't pick up."
I shrugged, accustomed to these teasing banter. "Fine."
With that, they dispersed, each heading off on their own path. Alice and I were left to navigate the maze of the city streets alone, the heat and the traffic pressing in around us.
Half an hour later, we arrived at the imposing gates of the mansion. Inside, the atmosphere buzzed with anticipation as preparations for the evening's festivities were underway.
As we stepped into Alice's room, a sense of anticipation hung in the air, mingling with the soft glow of the evening sunlight filtering through the curtains. My uniform, neatly pressed and waiting, stood like a sentinel in the corner. It was more like a bodyguard uniform.
But before doing anything, Alice turned to me with a request. "Help me choose a dress for tonight," she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
The room was adorned with an array of dresses, each more exquisite than the last, as if vying for the chance to adorn Alice's graceful form. We sifted through the selection, considering colors, styles, and fabrics with meticulous care. Thirty dresses passed through our hands, each sparking a brief moment of consideration before being gently set aside.
Finally, amidst the sea of choices, we found it: a sky blue dress, reminiscent of a tranquil summer sky. As Alice disappeared into the changing room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the transformation that awaited.
Minutes passed like fleeting whispers, and then she emerged, radiant and resplendent. The dress clung to her like a second skin, accentuating every curve and contour with effortless elegance. I found myself momentarily breathless, struck by her beauty and grace.
She quickly took a seat and sat in front of the mirror.
Regaining my composure, I stepped forward to assist her with her hair and makeup, each stroke of the brush and twist of the curler a delicate dance between artist and muse.
In that moment, surrounded by the soft glow of the dressing room and the intoxicating scent of perfume, I felt a connection that transcended mere duty.
After the final touches of makeup were applied, Alice adorned herself with a pair of medium hoop circle earrings, which were my favorite, their delicate glimmer adding a touch of whimsy to her ensemble.
With a playful smirk, she caught my gaze, her eyes twinkling with mischief, causing a rush of warmth to flood my cheeks in a blush.
I picked up my bodyguard uniform and headed towards the changing room. After putting it on, I stepped outside to show Alice.
I really felt uncomfortable wearing that uniform it was tight and I didn't liked wearing coats or uniforms at all.
As I stood before her, awkwardness enveloping me like a shroud, Alice's gaze pierced through the veil of uncertainty, her applause a balm to my self-conscious soul.
She was wearing blue heels and helding a blue purse too. Perfect match-up.
"You look handsome," she declared, her words a gentle reminder of her unwavering support.
"Thanks, shall we go?" I murmured, my voice betraying the unease that coursed through me.
Before we could take another step, Alice halted me with a radiant smile.
"Oh, I just got a call from Elizabeth," she chirped, "and guess what? You'll never believe it! They've arranged for me to be accompanied by a young, cute, handsome bodyguard at the party!"
My heart sank a little at the mention of a "young" and "cute" bodyguard. How could she say that to me?
"Um... okay. Just be careful. I'll be around. " I managed to reply, though the bitterness in my tone was impossible to conceal.
But then, in a moment that caught me off guard, Alice reached out and took my hands in hers, her touch sending a warm shiver down my spine.
"And that's you!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "Change of plans. Let's go to the party."
Hold on but what about my role that I am supposed to play in the mission after all I am going to be the one to catch Elizabeth.
I couldn't help but blush at her words, feeling a rush of relief and joy flood through me. I allowed her to lead me out of her room, a rare role reversal in the typical dynamic of boys dragging girls. Yet, in that moment, it felt perfectly natural.
Then we went inside elevator. As the elevator doors closed behind us, enveloping us in a cocoon of anticipation, Alice gracefully smoothed down her sky-blue dress, the fabric hugging her curves in all the right places. Her blue heels clicked softly against the floor as she adjusted her matching purse, a perfect complement to her ensemble.
Meanwhile, I fidgeted with my uniform, feeling self-conscious under her gaze. Caught in the act, I glanced up to find her eyes fixed on me, a mischievous twinkle dancing within their depths. Before I could react, she closed the distance between us, her slender fingers deftly straightening my tie.
"You don't know how to wear a tie at all!" she teased, her voice carrying a playful edge that made my cheeks burn with embarrassment. Yet, her touch was gentle, comforting even, as she meticulously adjusted the knot.
Caught off guard by her proximity, I found myself lost in the intensity of her gaze. Her fingers lingered on my collar, the warmth of her touch seeping into my skin. And then, without warning, she leaned in, her lips brushing against mine in a fleeting, electrifying kiss.
Time seemed to stand still in that moment, the world fading away as we were consumed by the heat of our connection. When she pulled back, a soft smile graced her lips, her eyes alight with a mixture of affection and desire.
In the hushed intimacy of the elevator, with only the faint hum of its machinery to accompany us, I couldn't help but feel as though we were the only two people in existence. And as the doors slid open, revealing the promise of the party awaiting us on the top floor, I knew that whatever the night held in store, I wanted to experience it by her side.
The top floor of the venue pulsated with energy, resembling more of a chic nightclub than a traditional party. The air was thick with laughter and the thumping beat of music, mingling with the chatter of guests and the occasional clink of glasses. Security guards stood at strategic points, ensuring the safety of the lively crowd.
Navigating through the sea of people, Alice and I eventually found Elizabeth, who greeted us with a warm smile before introducing us to her relatives. As Alice's impromptu bodyguard, I stood by her side, silently observing the whirlwind of activity around us.
Suddenly, a figure clad in a crisp white coat approached us, his confident stride cutting through the crowd. With a charming smile, he introduced himself as Ron, Elizabeth's nephew. His eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief as he addressed Alice.
"Hello, I'm Ron," he began, his voice smooth and confident. "Elizabeth is my aunt. It's a pleasure to meet you."
Alice returned his greeting with her own polite smile, he was making her uncomfortable, her eyes curious as she took in his appearance. Ron's casual demeanor belied a magnetic presence, and there was an undeniable aura of charm about him.
"I couldn't resist coming over here when I saw you," Ron admitted, his tone playful yet sincere. "You're certainly stealing the spotlight tonight."
Once I knock you out and after giving you a stylish black eye, you will share the spotlight too.
Alice's smile widened at his words, her interest piqued by his bold approach. As Ron continued to speak, his words weaving a captivating spell.
"Well, I'm glad fate brought us together tonight," Ron concluded, his gaze never leaving Alice's face. "You've been on my mind since the moment I laid eyes on you."
When he said that I didn't want to punch him nu-uh. I WANTED TO BREAK HIS NECK AND KILL HIM RIGHT NOW!
Alice responded with a soft, fake chuckle, her eyes dancing with amusement. "Oh, really?"
"Absolutely," Ron murmured, his gaze lingering on Alice's shy demeanor.
"There's something about your shy demeanor that's incredibly alluring. It's like you're hiding a wild side underneath that polite exterior."
Yes of course you are right I am hiding my wild side, if I showed to it you, your pants will get wet.
As he leaned in closer, his breath warm against her cheek, But before his lips could meet hers, I swiftly extended my hand, gently but firmly pressing against his chest to create a barrier.
"Sir, kindly maintain distance," I urged, my tone conveying both politeness and assertiveness.
I wanted to say DIE! But I didn't.
Taken aback, his expression shifting from anticipation to sheepishness. "Okay, sorry for being so close to her," he mumbled, a blush creeping up his cheeks.
Alice maintained her professional demeanor, acknowledging his apology with a gracious nod, but I could clearly see in her eyes that she wanted to slap him.
"I appreciate the offer, but I'm actually in a committed relationship," she explained, her words carrying a gentle firmness.
Ron's surprise was evident as he processed her revelation.
"Ah, is that so?" he replied, a tinge of disappointment coloring his tone. "Well, he must be a lucky guy."
A soft smile graced Alice's lips as she nodded in affirmation. "Yes, he is," she confirmed, her gaze unwavering.
Undeterred, Ron's grin widened, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"Well, if he ever lets you out of his sight, I'd love to show you a good time," he quipped, his voice laced with playful intent.
I fixed him with an intimidating look and firmly stated, "Sir, kindly refrain from getting too close to her, or I'll have to resort to other methods."
Ron stepped back and said, "I am sorry once again."
I AM NOT GONNA LEAVE HER SIGHT AT ALL! SHE IS MINE! ONLY MINE! NO ONE CAN HAVE HER!!!
Alice remained steadfast, her response unwavering. "Thank you, Ron, but I'm completely devoted to my boyfriend," she stated firmly, her conviction resolute.
Ron's grin faltered slightly at Alice's steadfast response, but he quickly composed himself.
"Oh, okay. I understand," he conceded, his tone tinged with disappointment as he retreated in defeat, leaving behind an air of lingering tension.
As Ron departed, I could feel the heat of anger rising within me, my fists clenched tightly at my sides. But before I could voice my frustration, Alice's gentle touch enveloped my hand, her comforting presence soothing the turmoil within.
Alice tilted her head, her expression curious as she asked, "Are you mad?"
I replied with a surge of frustration, "Of course I am. That jerk got too close to you. I would have confronted him right then and there, I should've kicked his ass."
With a reassuring tone, Alice responded, "Look, it's okay. Everything is resolved now." Her words carried a sense of relief, tinged with a hint of gratitude for my concern.
"Anyway, wanna dance with me?" Alice's voice was like a soft melody, its warmth washing over me, melting away the remnants of resentment I held towards Ron.
"I don't think we should dance," I murmured, my self-doubt creeping in. "I promise I'll step on your dress. I'm not good at dancing."
But Alice simply smiled, her confidence unwavering. "Just follow my lead," she reassured me, her voice a gentle whisper against the backdrop of the music.
With her guidance, I let go of my apprehension, allowing myself to be swept away by the enchanting melody and the warmth of Alice's embrace. As we danced, the world around us faded into the background, leaving only the two of us lost in the moment, united by the simple joy of moving together in perfect rhythm.
And then suddenly lights out.
