Olivia White - 1994

The mall massacre, 1994
"It began as a prank and ended with murder... fantastic choice, I love this one," Heather Watkins said as she was serving a customer. "It's trash, low-brow horror, it's for my step-daughter," the lady who was buying the book from Heather replied.

"Uhh, that will be $2.95," Heather replied dryly as she opened the cash register. "Thank you for shopping at B. Dalton's," Heather replied while handing the lady her book, "and have a nice night," she continued with flipping the lady off as the shopper walked away.

"Attention shoppers, the shadyside mall is now closed, the shadyside mall is now closed" a female voice came over the speakers. This was none other than Olivia white, who works with Heather at B. Dalton's but occasionally does the overhead announcements.

Heather turned off the lights in the store as she started to clean up for the night. Until the phone started ringing, she sighed as she answered it, "Hello, this is B. Dalton's. We're closed," she said to the person on the phone. "Okay, since when do you work late? Isn't Olivia the one who usually does the night shifts?" Ryan Torres, one of Heather and Olivia's friends, said on the other side of the phone.

"Since my mom used her last paycheck on scratch tickets instead of the gas bill," Heather replied, "And besides, I don't like the idea of Olivia here alone, so" she continued, but the line shut off suddenly without a reply. "Hello?" Heather asked, "Ryan?" She asked again, but no reply. "Ryan? Are you there?" She continued, "Ryan? Hello?" But she was still met with beeping, so she hung up the phone and walked outside the store to find him.

A noise startled her as she turned around, only to be met with the janitor, Martin "Night," he told her as he kept walking.

Suddenly, a loud noise came from behind her. "Jesus Christ," she yelled as she turned around, finding Ryan standing there with a naked blow-up doll. "Ryan! What the hell, dude?" she said as she slowed her breathing. "Ryan, what are you doing to my girlfriend?" They heard a voice from behind them.

Ryan turned around only to find Olivia walking towards them. "Forgive me," he smiled at the girls as Olivia walked up to Heather, kissing her and turning back towards Ryan. "Yeah, whatever, dork," Heather replied, taking Ryan's drink from him. "You're still taking me home, right?" Heather asked her girlfriend, "Yeah, of course... or you could stay at my house?" Olivia replied with a smirk, "That sounds nice." Heather blushed as Ryan gagged.

"Before you two do that, could you give me a ride too?" Ryan asked Olivia, "Yeah, whatever, I don't want you waking out alone anyway, so yeah sure," Olivia replied as Ryan smiled, "great, just give me and uh jasmine here 15 minutes to close up," as he held up the inflatable naked doll, "you gave her a name," Heather said to him. "Yeah, I thought uh 'big tits' was kind of deflating her ego," he replied as he fondled the doll's fake breasts.

Heather and Olivia both rolled their eyes as they went to walk back inside the bookstore. "Be here in 15," Olivia yelled back to him. "Will do," he said back as he turned around. "What?" he suddenly asked the two girls turned around, giving him weird looks. "We didn't say anything, weirdo," Heather replied to him.

Heather pulled down the shutter to the store as Olivia sat on the counter, except it wouldn't shut all the way, so she just turned around and left it

The girls were stacking books, each on opposite sides of the shelf, while they spoke to one another, "Do you think Ryan tries to fuck that doll?" Olivia asked, "Oh, definitely." Heather laughed until she heard the noise of a book falling. Looking over to one of the aisles, she saw a book in the middle, so she got up. "I'll be right back," she told Olivia as she walked towards the book. "Okay," she heard back.

Heather picked the book up and put it back on the shelf with a sigh until she heard someone running down an aisle. "Olivia," Heather's voice called out, "What?" Olivia asked from behind the shelf that the girls were stacking before, Uuhh, nothing, never mind," Heather replied as she walked towards where the sound came from.

Only to see another book on the ground, picking it up, she heard another sound similar to a drink falling over. "Okay, very funny, Ryan, you asshole, I'm spooked, okay, you win," she called out as she walked near the top of another aisle, only to see Olivia. "What are you on about?" She asked as they both looked down at the drink spilled on the floor.

Another sound came behind them, so they both turned around, seeing someone in a skull mask with a cloak on who stabbed a knife into the book Heather was holding. Both girls started screaming as Olivia grabbed Heather's hand, and they both started running.

The girls struggled to scramble under the shutter, but Skull Mask had grabbed one of Heather's feet. "Give me back my girlfriend, asshole," Olivia yelled as she pulled Heather's arms. Heather ripped her leg free, and the girls started running with their hands interlocked.

"Ryan," Heather called out. "Ryan, help!" Olivia yelled too "Ryan!" The girls yelled as they reached his store. Running behind the counter, Heather picked up the phone, calling 911. "911, what's your emergency?" the lady on the other side of the phone asked. "Hi, umm, I'm in the Shadyside Mall, um" Heather told her as Olivia saw Skull Mask getting closer, "hello?" The lady on the phone asked as the heather scrambled away.

"Are you still there, ma'am?" The lady asked again, "Is someone hurt? Ma'am, if you don't answer..." the lady on the phone continued as Olivia cut her off, "Help us," she whispered and crawled away after Heather, but not before seeing Skull Mask enter the store.

The girls stuck close to the wall as they looked around, trying not to be seen. Heather looked beside her and gasped, seeing a skull displayed on the wall. "Shh, you're okay," Olivia whispered as they continued to stay close to the wall.

Unbeknownst to them skull mask was one of the many skulls on the wall. He came up behind them and got Heather into a choke hold as he kicked Olivia's back, knocking her to the ground, and he sliced Heather's stomach, trying to stab her again when Olivia got up from the ground, punching him in the face, knocking him off of Heather as the girls started running towards the changing rooms, hiding in the aisle near it and putting Ryan's blow-up doll in the changing room.

Skull mask walked up to the room, stabbing what unbeknownst to him was the doll, as Heather whacked him over the head with something off the shelf, as the girls ran out of the store screaming for help, reaching a classmate's body tied to a chair.

They started screaming more as Skull Mask approached them. He caught up to the girls and stabbed Heather in the back, knocking her down as Olivia turned around, screaming, only to be stabbed in the stomach, "Fuck you!" She screamed out as she punched him while Heather stood up trying to get him off Olivia, only to be elbowed in the nose, temporarily knocking her out.

Skull Mask swung his knife towards Olivia's throat, slashing it, but not to the full extent. She immediately brought her hand to her throat, trying to stop the blood as it cascaded down her shirt. He stabbed her in the stomach and knocked her to the ground.

He grabbed a now-conscious Heather and flipped her over onto her back as she screamed. He stabbed her in her chest over and over again as she screamed, "Stop it!" Olivia tried to scream, but her voice came out with splurging blood. Heather ripped off Skull Mask's mask to reveal Ryan.

"Ryan?" Heather asked, sadness, pain, and betrayal in her voice, "Please! It's me, it's us, it's Heather and Olivia, stop," she said to him as Olivia got the courage to stand and push him off with one hand, the other still on her throat, "fuck!" She croaked out as she turned back to Heather, both of them slowly dying as Olivia fell next to her girlfriend.

"I love you, Heather," Olivia told her as she looked over. "I love you more, Olivia," Heather weakly replied as the life drained from her eyes.

"No!" Olivia cried out as she pressed a soft, bloody kiss to Heather's head, but suddenly Ryan stood up, about to finish Olivia off, but was shot in the head from behind, falling beside the girls. Olivia looked over at Sheriff Nick Goode, who had shot her girlfriend's murderer, and smiled and mouthed 'Thank you' as the life drained from her eyes and she collapsed right next to Heather, her hands falling together.

-2025 Author: This is edited purely grammatically. I did not edit the actual story at all because if I did, I would have deleted the entire thing. So I decided I'd just attempt to edit the spelling and grammar, but that was a struggle, so idk when I'll edit the other chapters. -Alyssa
