Hello to all fellow readers. This October 2022, I'll technically be in Wattpad for ten years now. I started writing back in 2012 and now, I do have 2300+ followers. My advice to all of you? I saw a member of a Facebook Wattpad Group who was complaining that a chapter was boring and was just a filler in her opinion. It's only her opinion. What if it really is important for the person who wrote that chapter? 

Back in 2016, I remember writing a story wherein my male lead loses all his memories including his past love interest. After that, he met another woman who's a princess with whom he falls for. I remember that a reader began insulting the princess as a witch since he's all for the past love interest. I wrote all my best to make the princess likable but to no avail. I gave up and killed the princess. That was when I chose to leave the story for a while since I cared too much about the opinions of my readers. I always regret not following my original plot. Why? The story became what the readers want, not what I want.Should you care too much about the opinion of your readers? There are readers who could give you constructive criticism but there are also readers who would rather complain just because of their belief that a chapter is boring and nonsense.For the past ten years, I've seen a lot of those readers. Should those readers allow you to change too much? Would you choose to be depressed because of their complaints? Are books the same as cooked food? No. Books aren't like cooked food. You're constructing your world and you're meticulously making sure that it's good enough for you. A book is a written painting. It depends on how beautiful it is to the one looking at it. You're a painter. Paint what you want. Write what you want to share. You're merely sharing a part of your soul. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. After doing all your best constructing your world, the first person who should approve what you created and be satisfied is you. There will be others who won't like it but there are others who will like it. Be careful listening to bad reviews. Not all of them are constructive. Thank you.
