Ponyboy's POV:

"Let's go meet some other guys from our group," Liam suggests to me, after receiving a "help me" look from Olivia. What was that about, I wonder...

"Okay," I respond, my thoughts eating me away.

What was that look? Does she not like me?

God, she's pretty.

She has green eyes.

We aren't going to work.

"Do you know anyone from the group yet?" Liam asks me. I shake my head.

"Just you. Don't even know the counselors," I respond.

"I think the counselors are James and Phillip," he responds. I can tell by the sound of his voice that he's questioning his own words.

"Have you met them yet?" I ask him.

"Just James. I think he was the one that told me that the other guy's name is Philip, but who knows, that could be totally wrong," he says with a laugh. I nod in response and quietly follow him.

"Hi," A girl says, walking in front of me with golden-blonde hair and ocean blue eyes. She has lots of freckles.

"Hi," I respond.

"What's your name?" She asks, smiling.

"Ponyboy. Yours?" I respond.

"Amelia. Amelia Clark," she beams. "I live in California, but I was born in Oklahoma and come to this camp every year," she brags to me. I just nod, not really caring one way or another.

"Are you new here?" She asks me, actually sounding like she thinks she's superior to me. Full of yourself, aren't you? I nod in response to her question.

"Yeah. This is my first year," I tell her.

"Like I said, I've been going here forever, so if you have any questions, ask me. I know just about all there is to know. I'm going to be a counselor here next year," she brags.

"That would be cool." I really don't care, it's not like I want to be here anyways.

"It'll be amazing," she says.

"I'll be getting paid to go to camp! Although, it's not like I need the money. My daddy runs a big company, that's how we have enough to send me out here every summer. I also get a weekly allowance, and weekly packages from them filled with food and other good stuff," she brags. I just nod.

I really do not like this girl.

"Amelia, I hate to do it, but I have to go. Liam over there wanted to introduce me to some people. Sorry," I say, finally getting away. She nods her response, looking a bit stunned.

People don't just walk away from Amelia Clarke, do they? Well, not until now, I guess.

I walk over to Liam, to find him entranced in conversation with three guys.

"Hey," I interrupt.

"Oh, hey, Ponyboy. This is Daniel, Chris and Peter. Guys, this is Ponyboy. He and I sat together on the ride here," Liam explains. They nod, wave and say hello to me, then go back to their conversation on some TV show that they watch. I walk away to find some other people to talk to.

I walk around to find no one interesting, until I walk right into Olivia.

"I'm sorry," I say, watching her fall on the ground. She sits there for a second, stunned.

"Are you okay?" I ask, offering her my hand to get up. She takes it, and then suddenly she's laughing hysterically. I laugh along with her, and after a moment ask her, "So you're sure your okay?" She nods.

"I'm fine. Thank you," she responds with the flash of a cute little smile. Her teeth were pearly white and perfectly straight, the way you could tell she had just gotten braces taken off.

"Olivia, I want to get to know you," I say suddenly, just as she starts walking away. Immediately, she turns around.

"Okay... What do you want to know?" She asks quietly. I think for a minute, suddenly realizing I have no answer for that.

"I'm not sure... Just about you," I respond. She nods.

"Okay, sure. Only if I can get to know you too," she says, her voice a slight squeak.

"Yeah, I'd like that. When?" I respond. She shrugs.

"I'm not sure when we'd really have any time. I mean, I don't have any idea as to whether or not we have any kind of schedule..." She says. Well, that's good, because neither do I.

"Maybe if we have some free time tomorrow or something?" I suggest.

"That sounds good," she says with a nod.

"Okay. I'll let you know if I find anything out about the schedule," I assure her.

"Same with me," she says, then walks back over to go talk to her friends. I go back over to Liam.

"How'd it go with my sister?" He asks, his eyebrow raised in suspicion.

"I think I just asked her out..." I admit.
