•Three Days Later•
I pulled up to my parking spot and got out. The lot was empty. Only a few students had pulled up into the parking spots since the school bell hadn't even rung yet. I had to dress nicely since we had an away game today. Whenever a sport had an away game the team had to dress up to represent the school.
I wanted to show out, but not too much.
The lies you tell.
I got to school early since I had to put my stick and gear away in the sports locker room. There were two different locker rooms in this school which I found to be useful.
There was the regular one that people used for gym class and there was the sports locker room as they liked to call it. This locker room is used only by the students involved with sports.
Checking my phone, I saw that I had twenty minutes before school started. I pushed past people not bothering to say excuse me. I needed coffee. I'm not going to get through this day at the raggedy-ass school without my Caramel Ribbon Crunch. Finally getting to my car, I sigh in relief when I see I had enough time to get to Starbucks and back without being late.
I felt a soft tap on my shoulder. All the blood in my body began to boil as I was being delayed from getting my coffee.
See, I'm already raging and stopping when I don't have the time to stop.
"Bro, what the fuck do you want?!" I roared. "I know you see me rushing to get into my car trying to get my coffee. Whatever you need to say to me is not important at this moment. Move your bum ass along!" I raged, not bothering to look in the person's direction.
I do not care about anybody's feelings, especially in times like this.
"Well damn," the voice muttered from behind me.
I snapped back to see Marcus standing there with Starbucks in his hand. "I remember the first day you talked to me and you said that you can't go a day without your coffee. I wanted to thank you more for yesterday and-"
"Oh my gosh, I'm going to marry you," I exclaimed as I threw my arms around him.
He chuckled while handing me my coffee and we headed back into the building. I sipped the liquid heaven thanking Marcus, "I love you so much. Sorry for blowing up earlier," I exclaimed, his cheeks turned red at my comment.
I laughed to myself and continued to indulge in liquid heaven.
"You know if you think about it, I don't know much about you," I paused as we got to my first block class.
"I say that we're best friends, but we've only hung out once after school." He nodded his head in response but remained quiet.
I noticed in all the short period of knowing him that he did not talk much. Most of the time it would be me talking and him listening and blushing. I wanna know why he's so shy because it doesn't make sense. He doesn't look like the one to be shy, but he is, he's built like a quarterback and is hot so I don't know what I'm missing here.
"Hey-" I was about to speak as the bell rang signaling that we only had 5 minutes to get to class. Marcus turned back to me with a small smile and left, he wouldn't stick around and be late to class.

The rest of the day was a bore. We spent lunch talking like usual since we hung out at the rink we have been much closer. I mean, he's still not that into talking as much as I would like, but we're gonna take some baby steps.
School ended shortly after lunch. Practice was canceled today for some reason. I wasn't paying attention when she explained so I headed on home. I wanted to hang out with Marcus today but his practice was still on for tonight and they had a game tomorrow.
I only lived about ten minutes from the school so the drive was gonna be real chill. I have my playlist bumping, bro if I wasn't driving I would have been throwing it back in this car.
I love my car so much. I spent my whole middle school through freshman years preparing to buy a car. And I guarantee I bought the sexiest car I could find. I got me a White Range Rover, the way I dreamed to get this car when I first saw one driving one day. This car is my baby, might even name my firstborn after my car. I named my car Darius. If I'm being honest, I don't know why I did but I'm not changing it.
I pulled up into my driveway and stepped out of the car, wrapping around to the backseat to grab my bookbag. I walked to the front door and entered.
"Hey guys, I'm home!" I screamed letting the entire neighborhood aware of my arrival.
"Hi baby, how was school?" my mother asked from the kitchen. I followed the sound of her voice to see her seated at the kitchen table with a salad in front of her.
My mother was gorgeous. She has alluring butterscotch skin, a smile that brights up a room. Chocolate eyes that sparkled in the sun. Chestnut hair that stopped above her shoulders. Her hair differed from mine as mine hung in loose curls past my shoulders.
"School is school," I shrugged walking towards the fridge. My mother's laughter filled the room causing a small smile the spread across my face.
"Where is everyone?" I asked dropping walking around the kitchen.
"Your dad ran to go get some dinner since he didn't feel like cooking tonight." I giggled at this.
My dad is y good cook, but he didn't like doing it unless he was grilling.
My mother is an exceptional cook, but she didn't like cooking all the time which is understandable.
"Your brother is gonna be out of town looking with all the scouts he has looking at him." My brother has played football all his life so it's no surprise he has so many people looking at him. I'm happy that he's getting the opportunities that he deserves.
I nodded my head and began to turn and leave, pausing when Marcus's face came into my head.
"So, I didn't tell you this before, but I made a new friend." I turned to her with a bottle of water in my hand. Her eyes widened a bit at my statement.
"Oh, that's great baby! What's her name?" I chuckled a bit before moving to the chair next to where she sat.
"His name," I added, her smile grew even more. "And before you interrupt me, his name is Marcus and he's sweet, but he's also shy."
"Aww, that's so cute, when do I get to meet him?" I thought about Marcus for a minute, would he like to meet my mom already? I mean, I know that we met, but hanging out would be so much easier if she knew who he was.
"I'll see if he would mind coming over some time." She rose her eyebrows suggestively and gave me a sly grin. "Mom, I know what you're thinking and we are friends. Sure he is very cute and very sweet, but we may just stay friends."
"Ugh, you're no fun! I know you'll fall for him. He sounds like a nice guy and I can't wait to meet him!" I rolled my eyes at her statement of Marcus and I getting together. It would be nice, but I know it will never happen.
"I'm gonna go chill in my room, call me if you need me!" I called as I made my way to the stairs and up to my room.
My room, for the most part, was average. The majority of the things in my room were white. Once high school hit, I did away with the multicolored room and switched for a more simple look.
My bed sat in the corner of the room, white sheets covered the bed as my open MacBook laid in the middle. Smaller, knit, grey blankets lay scattered across the bed. Fairy lights hung from the wall over the grey bed frame, enclosing the bed under it. A white dresser was placed next to the bed. Light grey walls surrounded the room to help with the influx of the white that filled the room.
Across the room, a white vanity stood. A tall and skinny shelf stood connected to the vanity, which I used as extra shoe storage. My makeup lined the table, scattered from this morning's rushed departure. A couple of pots of greenery sat atop tall dressers and open spaces to add color to the room. My pictures of family and friends lined the walls. Filling the room and adding more life to the already colorless walls.
A circular, small, white fluffy rug hung sticking out from under my bed and a couple of feet past it. Dark wooden floorboards stretched the entirety of the room. My field hockey gear sat in a neat corner away from everything else in the room to keep for easy access. To me, my room was
amazing.
I dropped my bag at the foot of my bed and climbed to lay on the soft comforters. I scrolled through Instagram. Going through different pages and find more and more people.Ugh, I'm already so done with the people here!
I stumbled upon the school's page and scrolled to try and find out more about this weird-ass school. Sports were a big thing here. It looked like everyone and their mom playing some type of sport. I found a group picture of the football team last year.
The boys stood smiling on the field. The coach was holding a plaque that read "2018-2019 State Champions". My eyes immediately found Marcus standing in the back with a soft, shy smile plastered on his face.
How adorable!
Wonder what he's doing right now. I glanced at the time and it read 4:35. It's not late and I'm going to die of boredom. I clicked the photo and the members of the team were tagged, just my luck. I clicked on Marcus's profile, he had nothing posted, but a decent amount of followers.
I slid up to his DM and waited for a response. He texted back responding to my greeting. A smile formed on my face as I continued to text him.

The already present smile on my face grew as I got up and prepared to hang it with Marcus. I changed out of the clothes I wore for school and into something more comfortable. I grabbed my keys and went down the stairs. "Hey, mom I'm gonna go hang out with Marcus for a little bit.
Is that ok?"
She looked up from the book she was reading and smiled.
"Yeah that's fine, but don't walk up in this house pregnant. I'm too young to be a grandma."
I rolled my eyes, kissing my mom on the cheek I head over to my car and started on my journey to Marcus's house.
We're gonna have some fun!
Saya's outfit to Marcus's house.
