Topic 20. Many developing countries require aid from international organisations to develop. Many people think that this aid should be financial, while others think that practical aid and advice are more useful. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
There are some different points of view on kinds of foreign aid. In my essay, I would like to discuss views whether international financial or practical aid and non-financial support is beneficial for poorer nations, and state my own perspective is that international practical help is not as useful as international the one in the monetary form.
I believe that financial aid is necessary for the third world countries to meet basic necessities. To begin with, financial support from international organisations can make great contribution to the national resources for social life. To cite an example, developing countries can invest in constructing better infrastructure or organising liberal education systems to serve people life thanks to international financial budget. Furthermore, international financial assistance somehow is more useful and valuable to supporting local residents whenever a natural catastrophe takes place. The national governments can allocate disaster relief funds provided by rich countries to donate food and clothing to the victims and reconstruct devastated their housing.
However, another school of thought proposes that practical aid and advice are more instrumental in enhancing developing countries. Firstly, the supporters of this viewpoint believe that practical aid would be an available resource for constructing and enhancing effective education and training medical systems. For example, first world countries such as America or France have some policies to guide and orient Vietnamese educational and medical systems towards the down-to-earth quality. Secondly, those who are for this proposal think that advice, instructions and experience from other developed countries would help poorer nations to improve their own ones. Apparently, Asian developing countries such as Vietnam, Cambodia or Laos have a tendency to allow their well-rounded citizens study and work abroad to accumulate skills, knowledge and experience to modernize their mother country.
In conclusion, while some people argue that foreign aid given to poor countries should be non-financial, it seems to me that international monetary support is more sensible and appropriate for those countries to escape from poverty and underdevelopment.
