Son and Dad Night
Anonymous: You're going back to Nevermore Wednesday, are you sure you want to do that?
Wednesday: You showed up again at the end.
Anonymous: Did you think mine was just a joke? I would never joke about your life.... Or about your death.
Wednesday: You know this is not going to end well for you, right?
Anonymous: We will see Wednesday Addams, we will see it.
*Hanging Wednesday's Gift*
Wednesday continues to stare at the gift with her caricature swinging with a noose hanging around her neck.
"Hey Willa who are you texting with? Is it Xavier again?"
While Wednesday is sitting with her legs stretched out, leaning against the headboard, Enid is leaning against Wednesday's chest almost completely lying down.
"No, my stalker has turned up again."
The she-wolf snapped to attention, pulled herself up and took the phone from Wednesday's hands, reading the chats.
Raven seeing Enid so focused on scrolling through even the oldest chats, she picks up a strand of hair between her fingers, now there is no trace of the platinum blond or the colored tips, her hair is back to a light brown, Wednesday loves to turn it between her fingers, it is so soft and silky and its smell is so intoxicating to her that she sometimes estranges herself from reality by smelling it.
"Willa? Willa? Wednesday!
Enid had to call her companion back with some emphasis because as usual she was lost playing with her hair.
"Why didn't you tell me anything?"
"I had something more important to do and think about."
Wednesday's looks make it very clear to Enid that it is her, but when they are one step away from exchanging a kiss, Wednesday's cuckoo clock chimes indicating 8 pm.
Enid startles as the Wednesday snaps to her feet, heading toward her desk.
"My writing hour has begun, End I would like to ask you to disturb me as little as possible, Viper has just arrived at the scene of the massacre in the sanctuary, it is a crucial and most delicate moment, I have to be able to describe the setting leaving crucial clues but until they become such the reader should not even understand that they are crucial parts of the plot.
Enid doesn't retort, she too gets up slipping on her pink flip-flops and sets off to leave the room, but not without first leaving a kiss on the cheek for Wednesday, who of course remains impassive watching the laptop turn on, Enid already feeling all her writerly gears turning full blast.
Once she leaves even the stairs of the tower Enid feels free to breathe, she knows how difficult it was for Wednesday to find inspiration for the new novel and now that she has gotten into gear she has no intention of disturbing it, she knows how important writing is to Wednesday and how happy the early positive reviews of her book have made her. Although no publisher had agreed to publish it, Raven had been persuaded to publish it on a site for fledgling writers, the work would be available for free, but publishers often fish out these very sites for emerging authors and have them take their work down online and republish it in print. If the publishing world had not yet realized the immense talent of Wednesday Addams, Enid is sure that the people of the Internet will instead.
"Good evening Morticia, what plant are we tending tonight?"
Enid has gone to the place she loves most in the Addams household that is not in Wednesday's arms.
Morticia smiles at her, immediately understanding why the young she-wolf came to visit her in her greenhouse.
"My dear Enid, I had hoped that Wednesday would soften a little by being with you but alas it did not."
Enid smiles amusedly,
"That's not true, Wednesday is the sweetest and most loving person I've ever met."
Morticia is petrified, slowly turning around with her eyes wide, the girl's serious tone not allowing her to tell if she is telling the truth or just teasing her"
"In theory already this I have broken a clause in the relationship contract that Wednesday made me sign, but really Morticia, in public she will look like the same Wednesday as always, but one thing she made clear to me from our first kiss was that I would never have to worry about not feeling loved by her, and if the price of this love is a daily hour that she spends estranged from the world writing her novel I am more than okay with that.
Morticia sheds a tear, takes two quick steps and embraces Enid vigorously, holding her against her own body.
*** Dense forest of the Addams estate ***
"Dad I found the trail, he went this way."
Puglsey is investigating footprints in vegetation while carrying a military precision rifle larger than himself.
"Very good son, now that grizzly won't get away from us again."
Father and son sling their twin rifles and following the tracks of the huge bear continue into the forest.
"If he got away from us the first time it's only your fault Dad, you wanted at all costs to try that poison grenade to try not to ruin the fur and luckily he escaped as soon as he inhaled some gas, did you see what it did to those trees! What kind of poison melts wood? I didn't even think it was possible to melt wood.
Gomez reflects on this and actually admits that the grenades of his own creation were not exactly the best for this type of hunting.
"Honestly son, I just played with your Uncle Fester's chemistry counter, don't think wrong I am a master in chemistry, but the expert in poisons is your mother I dabble more in explosions."
Gomez smiles proudly as Pugsley smiles at all the memories of him and his father related to their explosions.
"Yes I remember, my favorite is the Highway 14 bridge, there is nothing left of it but dust."
The son's dreamy eyes move Gomez, who gladly recalls the event.
"Some magnificent flames, too bad it was late at night, yes the lights were wonderful, but not a single person was hurt."
Pugsley thinks about this for a moment.
"You had proposed to do it at peak time, but Wednesday insisted on doing it at 3 am. in addition to the lights, also because he hoped that by violently killing someone at witching time we would summon some kind of demon."
Gomez smiles at how naive her little daughter was as a child, yes 3 am. is the perfect time to summon demons but there are complicated and precise procedures if not there would be demons everywhere, strange that her daughter didn't know this, after all she had started studying demons at age 3.
"Daddy stop! Here it is....."
The two crouch behind some vegetation as they watch the huge grizzly as it devours a deer.
"Here is Pugsley, the Union County demon, to his credit he has the killing of more than 40 head of cattle, about 20 domestic animals and the one to which he owes his fame, the killing of 13 hikers in a single night."
Gomez's eyes sparkle, what he has before him is a ruthless creature that unlike normal predators delights in killing, in fact he notices that in addition to the deer he is eating two others have landed disemboweled.
"Come on son point the rifle and be sure not to miss this time."
The boy rolls his eyes, knowing full well that his father will never admit he has failed to kill prey. Pugsley slings his LYNX, a military sniper rifle, which more like a cannon than a rifle, he has never fired with it yet, he knows well that he will not miss, the bear is twice the size of a standard specimen of his species and thanks to being downwind they have managed to get quite close, what worries Pugsley is the recoil of the weapon.... But he doesn't think too much about it, slinging his rifle better he aims at the animal's chest and fires.
"Well.... Yes... After all, it's her little son's first grizzly, Morticia won't have anything to say if her new fur has a hole through it the size of a bowling ball..... Pugsley? Where have you gone son?"
While the huge rifle remained next to Gomez, poor young Addams is a couple of feet behind with a black eye and a hopefully only dislocated shoulder.
*** Addams Castle***
"With this I also finished the third chapter..... Man if I continue at this speed I might finish before the Rave'n"
Wednesday almost feels like throwing up, having used that stupid dance even as a quantifier of time turns her insides inside out; Enid's influence is growing heavier.
After coming to her senses the raven stows the laptop on its now-appropriate shelf and throws herself into what is now her regular evening reading.
"Very well dark grimoire let's see if I can translate more."
So far what Wednesday had extrapolated from Goody's secret grimoire are a couple of dark spells, one for torturing prisoners in the worst way to the point of leading them to suicide and one under development for mind control. The one she was translating on those evenings appears to be a sealing spell.
"To block the spell..... No..... to seal with the spell..... You need a lock, an object bound to or derived directly..... from the creature you want to seal. This...makes no sense.... The padlock remains disconnected from the spell as it is only a guide of the essence that is to remain confined, the mere removal of said object from the place of confinement leads to the weakening of the seal.... Oh no."
