Prisoners

Wednesday has been wandering for hours now, the corridors are dark, cold, the colors are dull as if all life had been drained from the castle walls. A light fog hovers everywhere, making the atmosphere even more gloomy.

The first place Wednesday went was of course her dorm room, only to find a dusty old attic used as a storage room. This is not her Nevermore, this is not the Academy for Outcasts where she had her greatest adventure and where she finally found the piece she had always missed.

"Let's see if this works"

On Wednesday she took an axe from an ancient armor displayed in one of the dormitories. She struggled to lift it even though it was a one-handed axe, further proof that this world is not real. Her body is no longer the same, she can't run more than 3 minutes without getting out of breath, her agility is gone, her muscle memory in using weapons is gone too. Everything is gone, it's as if she isn't herself, like this is not her body. Yet this is her mind, it should be at its maximum strength.

He raises the axe with difficulty and brings it down with all his strength on the front door. A gash opens in the enormous wooden door and the axe clatters to the marble floor.

"Well, it will take a while...."

Wednesday with even greater difficulty he puts it back on his shoulders.

"But will I break down this.... Door?"

The tear in the wood is gone, the door is completely intact.

"Curse!"

Wednesday finally drops the axe on the floor and glares at the door.

Goody, in the body of Wednesday, walks the corridors of the school wearing a disturbing smile. Many of the students warned by dormitory leaders are preparing for an emrgency evacuation and everyone who passes her feels it, there is something different in Wednesday Addams, something wrong. Even when she passes by Bianca and Divina, she does not deign to look at them and as much as the two are used to being treated with enough by the goth. They more than the other students feel that there is something wrong.

"Call Enid, I smell trouble..."

Bianca doesn't take her eyes off Wednesday until the girl turns the corner. The smile she saw painted on her rival's face made her blood run cold.

"I'm already doing it... It rings hollow..."

Bianca turns to the other mermaid, panic building in her gaze.

"I follow Wednesday, you write on the group to look for Enid"

Bianca doesn't give Divina time to answer her and goes in pursuit of Addams. Divina doesn't waste time either, while she records a voice message on her friends' Whatsapp group, she heads towards the dormitories to check Enid and Wednesday's room.

When she arrives she finds a terrified Yoko in front of the room's door.

"Yoko!"

Yoko takes off her glasses, Divina misses a beat when she sees her girlfriend's eyes red and full of tears.

"I can feel her Div, her breathing, her heartbeat, the flow of her blood, they are so slow and weak, they seem like those of a person at the point of death."

Divine rushes to the handle.

"I've tried, I can't break it even with my vampire strength. I think it's bewitched."

The two hold hands and look terrified at the door. Yoko feels her best friend getting weaker and weaker, her heartbeat slowing down, her breathing getting weaker and weaker.

"Girls! What's going on???'"

Ajax, Xavier, Eugene and Kent come running in.

"I don't know what's happening to Enid, she seems to be on the verge of death and the door won't open, it seems she's been haunted"

Yoko speaks through tears and terror is also painted on the faces of the others. The first is Ajax who throws himself with all his strength against the door only to fall to the ground in pain without having had any positive outcome.

"Wait, I can try to get some of my bees in, this summer I learned to look through their eyes, at least we'll have a clearer idea of what's going on!"

Everyone nods, but is distracted by a familiar clicking sound at their feet. The familiar severed hand is there, in their midst, waving and jumping for attention.

"The idea of calling an adult hasn't even crossed your mind, right?"

Professor Silivieri stands stoically behind them, his eyes glowing a deep red, the same as the small electric shocks that pervade his body. The girls step back in fear.

"A sealing spell, huh?"

He looks around at all the boys with a creepy smile on his face, while he caresses the door with one hand. He then takes a step back so he can stretch out his entire arm and place his entire hand on the door. The red discharges begin to increase in frequency and intensity, so much so that the boys move further away from the man.

Mark concentrates harder and harder until the electrical discharges seem to become more and more ethereal and the light they emanate becomes brighter and brighter. When he closes his eyes he reabsorbs all that power into himself and the corridor that was now filled with red lights falls back into darkness.

"A stupid, ancient spell, more complicated than necessary, I could break it but I would risk hurting Enid"

The professor talks more to himself than to the kids, who can hardly believe what's happening.

"Now let's begin... Poder oscuro que impregna mi cuerpo, responde a mi petición, desbloquea la silla y abre la puerta."

A ring of red light with strange symbols appears on the door which instead glows purple. From the ring, electrical discharges appear which seem to "attack" the purple light of the door which flickers slightly.

"It's not enough for you, damn you!"

Mark reopens his eyes which are glowing with red light.

"El poder oscuro viene a mí, rompe las cadenas que bloquean mi camino y me libera del camino"

A new ring of red light appears surrounding the previous one, the discharges emitted by the two magic circles are much more intense and begin to burn the purple light until it dissolves into purple and red sparks along with the rings.

Yoko doesn't have any problems, she passes the professor and rushes into the room next to a milk-white Enid.

"Enid! Enid! Wake up!"

Yoko shakes the werewolf, while behind her, Professor Silivieri and the other kids make their way into the room. Mark with his red eyes scans the room for other spells or witchcraft, but the only one he finds is a sleeping spell on Enid.

"You won't be able to wake her, she's been hit by a sleeping spell...."

Yoko caresses her face, but Enid doesn't react, the others also pass the teacher and gather around Enid's bed.

"Was it Wednesday who did this?"

Yoko's eyes are now a mixture of anger and desperation. Xavier looks down at the name of the gothic girl. Eugene can't believe what he's hearing and looks shocked at Yoko, not believing that her best friend could do something like that to Enid. Divina and Kent exchange a puzzled look, they had also had that thought, but they didn't want to believe it.

Bianca is about to speak, but Thing throws himself onto Enid's bed, starting to jump on the spot and squirm.

"As Thing says, that was Wednesday's body but the one controlling it was not her"

All eyes return to Professor Silivieri.

"Wednesday was possessed by her ancestor, Goody Addams. She returned from the afterlife where she had been locked away.... To exterminate the normals and create a world of outcasts. Before any of you think that would be okay, let me tell you that it would be better to live in hell than in a world under the tyranny of Goody Addams."

No one dares to speak. They watch Professor Silivieri lean toward Enid and close his eyes again. He holds out a hand in front of him, over Enid.

" Revela lo que mis ojos no pueden ver "

A wave of faint red light starts from Mark's hand and reaches Enid's body, envelops it entirely and then vanishes.

"As I thought, it is not a normal sleeping spell, it is the kiss of death. A dangerous dark spell that puts the body into a state of lethargy and slowly shuts it down."

Yoko gets up from Enid's bedside and approaches the professor.

"How does it break? What is true love's kiss like in those bullshit movies? What is Wednesday or Goody or whoever the hell turned Enid into Sleeping Beauty?"

Mark looks down, he doesn't seem to have good news.

"We can say yes, only someone deeply attached to her can shake her enough to wake her up. The situation here is worse, this magic usually causes the death of the body to follow natural cycles, at the minimum of its activities a human body can resist a maximum of a month without food and water. Goody however has accelerated things, if we are lucky we have a few hours left"

Yoko looks at him in terror. The looks of the others are pure desperation. The vampire finally throws herself on Enid and begins to shake her violently.

"Enid wake up! You stupid girl, wake up! You understand, you stinky dog! Wake up!"

Yoko bursts into a loud cry and the others slowly begin to cry too.

"There is no need to despair. The only one who can free Enid is Wednesday, who is now in a mental limbo, but if we can't bring Wednesday to Enid, then we will have our wolf go looking for her."

Mark heads over to Wednesday's side of the room and starts grabbing random things and smelling them. Yoko continues to cry at Enid's bedside while the others watch in confusion as the professor scans Wednesday's side.

The light in the room begins to dim and the patter of the rain makes its way through the only sound of Yoko's crying.

Bianca watches the professor sniff anything that might belong to Wednesday, but it's only when she hears him mutter "Too weak" and "Clean" that she understands what he's looking for. At that point she turns and sees a sweatshirt too black to be the wolf girl's draped over Enid's backrest, she grabs it and hands it to the professor.

"Try this one"

The understanding smile on Bianca's face gives the man hope, and he grabs the sweatshirt and sniffs it.

"Perfect, thanks B"

Bianca is surprised by the nickname, but she shrugs it off. Mark holds the hoodie under Enid's nose and her eyes light up red again.

"Escúchame lobo, escúchame quien soy hermano, escúchame quien soy sangre, encuentra a tu compañera, sigue su olor entre los mundos y encuéntrate con ella y savato tu mitad."

Wednesday's sweatshirt lights up red, a light that then turns to fog and creeps into Enid's nostrils. Professor Silivieri leaves the sweatshirt on Enid's chest and moves away from the bed.

"What do we do now?"

Yoko seems to have calmed down even though she doesn't get up from Enid's side.

"We wait and hope"

While everyone is focused on Enid, Xavier feels uneasy, he feels watched, he feels an all too familiar sensation. He slowly turns his gaze towards the large glass window of the room, outside there seems to be only darkness, until a lightning bolt illuminates the sky and casts the enormous deformed shadow of what Xavier knows all too well is a Hyde.
