Meeting in the forest
Wednesday lifts Enid up as if she was a porcelain bride, carries her to a pile of clean straw present on one side of the room and lays her gently on it.
"Well Wednesday, now let's pick up where you left off, you were doing well."
Wednesday returns in front of the professor, gives him a dirty look, and immediately the man raises a barrier on Enid in order to avoid any inconvenience. Wednesday then resumes accumulating dark energy, which is not difficult, the tricky part is figuring out whether she is accumulating energy randomly like Enid or actually imparting a purpose to it. It takes a good 10 minutes before Wednesday realizes that she has accumulated as much energy as she can, at which point knowing that Enid is theoretically protected, she releases it. From an external point of view nothing happens, but in Wednesday's mind everything happens, unfortunately her power fails to expand the search field beyond the room, but she sees everything, a terrified family of mice in a hole, cockroaches are walking in the walls, scattered pennies hidden in the dust and straw, everything her mind identifies as hidden is clear in Wednesday's mind, the only blank spots are Enid and Professor Silivieri, both protected by the barriers.
"This is unbelievable, the applications of such a spell are infinitesimal, you could easily use it to identify a thief or to find lost or hidden objects, to analyze people in front of you, it's incredible."
"Wow, what a bright smile, being with Sinclair really does you good."
And just as it arrived, the smile on Wednesday's face disappears.
"We're done for today, Enid come on let's go."
A still staggering Enid pulls herself to her feet, grabs the arm placed by Wednesday, who, once she had her companion beside her, sets off at a brisk pace for the exit.

Enid was sleeping blissfully on her bed; she had collapsed as soon as she and Wednesday had set foot in the room again. Now, however, Wednesday was deleting yet another paragraph of her new novel, not being satisfied with the result.
You won't be able to write anything as long as you are so distracted.
Thing is staying there quietly on Wednesday's desk, enjoying watching the young woman alternate her gaze every 3 seconds between the computer and Enid.
"I'm not distracted, it's just that I have no ideas, I knew very well how to start the story, I know all too well how it has to end, I've already written the last chapter and the ending with the big twist, the problem lies in the middle, I know what has to happen and what has to be there, the problem is to develop it, how to give clues about something that will happen without making it obvious, or how to develop the mystery and the case, if I just write what's in my head now, the novel will barely be half the size of the first one and most of the chapters will just be filler to lengthen the broth."
Thing is petrified, his Wednesday would have threatened him with death after his insinuation, after all he had accused her of being distracted by her feelings for Enid and instead of finding himself impaled, he was listening to his little Adams' doubts.
Then you'd better stop, you should continue when you have clearer ideas...... maybe getting away from your distraction might help....
Wednesday casts a glance at Enid who was still asleep with that sweet smile painted on her face, the young Addams also hints at a smile before getting up.
"You are right Thing, I will go for a walk."
As soon as Wednesday has left the room, Thing rushes under the girls' bed and pulls out a square wooden box that when opened reveals the crystal ball. The poor severed hand is terrified-something is happening to Wednesday, and as much as it may seem like a positive change to some, in the few bones he has left, Thing knows something is wrong.

Wednesday walks quietly through the woods, has no specific direction, just walks, looks at the woods, the little animals running around, and talks to herself.
"It hadn't happened to me yet, the Viper novel was the first one I've ever developed fully and with all this dedication, but it's certainly not the first one I've written and especially not the longest one, I've written many other stories, maybe of lesser quality, but still they were well written, they didn't need filler chapters, it's the first time that-"
Wednesday stops, has a twinge in her head, and when she gets up again, she feels the need to change direction, a whisper in her mind telling her that she must go to the ruins of the original Pilgrims' Big House.
"Wednesday! Hello, I finally find you alone."
Xavier comes from another path, when she sees him, Wednesday forgets about the whispering and the ruins, but above all, her face becomes shadowed and return as it has always been.
"Thorpe..."
Xavier slows his advance; in the tone of Wednesday's voice he clearly heard rancor.
"Thorpe? You never called me by my last name.... Why are you doing this now that we are friends?"
Another voice, this time clearer and louder creeps into Wednesday's mind, one that tells her that the boy in front of him is there to come between her and Enid.
"Maybe we came close to being friends."
Wednesday takes something out of his pocket and throws it to him. When Xavier catches it and looks at what it is, he sees the cell phone he gave him at the end of the previous school year.
"I preferred to buy my own, I have to thank you, for the short time I used that device I understood what I need a phone for. Now, however, I'm returning it to you."
Xavier is confused, he was convinced that things between the two of them were fine, he was convinced that what Enid had told him was just what Wednesday wanted the werewolf to think because she was confused by her feelings.
"I don't understand, I thought we were friends and we were close to being something more."
Wednesday sighs, she knew that indulging the messages Xavier sent her over the summer would be a bad idea.
"You see Xavier, this summer I wasn't the one you were texting with, I was being referred to some of your messages or mostly summaries, but it was Enid who was responding to you, after all she was the one who insisted on it because she cared that I keep as many friends as possible."
Xavier looks away from the girl, stares at the ground for a moment, then back toward looking at the girl with a smile of who believes he has the answer.
"Come on Wednesday, I know you felt it, there is something between us. You're only saying that because you're not used to feeling these bond between us, and I can imagine that you asked Enid to respond for you because you were afraid you were expressing yourself wrongly and didn't want to hurt me, because you know you care about me."
Xavier has reached out and taken Wednesday's hand with his own while laying the other on the girl's cheek. Wednesday is pinned down, using every ounce of her strength to stop the elemental energy from escaping her body and incinerating Xavier and the whole forest.
"You idiot brat!"
Xavier had closed his eyes and was approaching her face when Wednesday snarled at him, and without his realizing it the young psionic-guy found himself slammed to the ground by the little gothic girl who is half his height and weight.
"Thank goodness I'm using 90 percent of my physical and mental strength to keep me from killing you if not, you have no idea what-"
A howl, a loud howl echoes through the trees behind Wednesday, a howl that young Addams would have recognized even in a thousand lifetimes.
"Shit--you better run Thorpe, someone with less self-control than me is coming.... And it wants your blood. Go to Jericho, you should be safe there until I calm the waters."
Xavier is terrified-he saw Wednesday leave him after speaking to him in a tone so icy that it froze his blood to the bone-and as the girl walked in the direction of that frightening howl, Xavier gets up and starts running toward Jericho City.
