Life is just death knocking on the door waiting to be let in. You can't start living until you leave the house.

Look at what people made. Then look at what God made. I'd say God wins.

Tonight, I sat outside for a little and just watched and listened. No words (Ok, maybe some song lyrics), just me and my mind. I came up with the following thoughts, and felt some of you could use these words as a message.

My dog was on the chain we have in our yard to prevent him from running away. Our cat was simply sitting on the sidewalk.

I sat on the front porch for a little and then slowly moved (barefoot. Can't stand shoes) across the soft grass to the large tree we have out front.

Years ago, around when we first moved in, part of the tree fell onto the ground. When that happened, all the neighbors said we should cut it off; get rid off the branch which ruined the tree.

That branch is still alive today.

There is something to be learned from this branch. Something most people don't pick up while going about in the day-to-day lives.

We can be the branch. We are the branch. So long as we allow ourselves to be different and thrive as such.

As long as we allow ourselves to become something that's not afraid to be different, even when others wish to cut you down.

The fireflies are out.

There are hundreds. Thousands. All lighting up the yards like a neon light show. When one glows, another glows with it. Fireflies are never alone in the glow.

They are an insect, yet most, even those with deadly fears of six legged creatures, find them beautiful.

Be like a firefly.

In an ocean of bugs, there are few all people can treasure. The firefly has a special quality about it which draws people in.

It is itself.

Fireflies glow at night and some even remain in the day. In the day, they are often hunted, because there is no darkness to shine their lights.

Those of you who say you are stuck in the darkness can learn from this...

Those of you who say you are stuck in the place where you're screaming yet none hear...

...Be the firefly.

Let the darkness be defeated by the light you pour out. Let the screams of your head become the light of which all can thrive in the glory.

Let yourself be seen for all that you are so that all may witness the beauty of truly letting yourself be free.

Don't be a dog on a chain.

The chained dog is ruled by those who put him on the chain. He cannot run; he cannot be free, for he is chained.

This chained dog is but one more entity in a fool's belief of winning. The dog loves his master, so the dog goes on the chain. The dog loves the outdoors, yet he only sees what he can from the chain.

The chain holds you back.

The chain breaks your spirit; takes you out of the habit of running, so that if you are released, you have no choice but to come back.

Because all that you know is the chain. And the master who puts you there.

Be not a snake, but the prey it chases.

Snakes are cunning creatures. The use the most drastic ends to achieve their goals. Most of the time, they win because none can stand against them.

But you have these rare creatures. The creatures that fight back. That refuse to be the snake's next meal. Instead, preventing it from harming those dear to it.

Be the rat who saved its child.

But do not be afraid to be the baby rat. We all need taken care of sometimes, and we can't always defend. Defending is great; but you must step back sometimes, and let others lead where you may not have succeeded.

Don't fear death.

But don't embrace it either.

Death is not a tool for the hands of men. Death should not be controlled or decided by those who don't understand it, or those who want out. Death cannot be controlled, and will often play you the fool. But it will not be you who suffers. It will be those close to you.

A life for a life.

A tooth for a tooth.

We've all hearing the sayings, but they all have truth.

You can't control forces outside your power.

I recommend you learn what matters.

The people around, whom you see everyday.

They're the ones who care and can't push you away.

It's a simple thought full of simple words.

But in time each word is full of what it has earned.

I beg of you, don't take your life.

For if you do, the ones to pay the price.

Will be the ones you wish you never hurt.

People live their lives, knowing they're going to die.

Yet we often try to make the most of it.

We believe in a world full of purpose. Where everyone is equal and accepted.

But that is impossible.

People have different thoughts and beliefs. You can't control the human mind no matter your machinery.

You can try for everything, yet change nothing. It happens more than most believe.

Not everyone will accept what you think they should.

In today's world, that's just impossible to do.

Too many opinions, too many thoughts. We can't all get along, so we just decided to altercate. By choosing that path, we forge a destiny greater than man knows, yet condemn ourselves to an eternity of doubt.

Wow.

Okay...

So that happened.

Anyway, I had some random thoughts tonight and wanted to see what you all made of them. Some of these I believe to be the truth more than anything.

But I do admit that I had a poet's mind for the last two, but it only showed the first one. I kept wanting to rhyme on the second yet didn't.

I'll probably add onto this. Tell me, what do you think of what goes on in my head?
