(Chapter Three.)
(Jaycee)
I couldn't stay at school—it was two hard. I walked into my house, rubbing snot across my sleeve as I walked in. My parents looked stunned as I walked in and they quickly got up, coming over to me.
“Jaycee, what's wrong?”, my mom asked. “And why are you home, it's only twelve o'clock.”, she said as she put her arm around my shoulder and pulled me into comfort me.
“Yeah.”, my dad said, putting his hands on his waist. “Today was the first of the days where we get rid of you and Jace for a couple of hours.”.
I knew my dad was only joking, trying to lighten up the mood, but it didn't make me feel any better. My mom hit his arm and told him to shut up. She rubbed my arm, “Sweetie, seriously, tell me.”.
“I don't want to talk about it.”, I said, crying. “I just want to go die.”,
I bundled myself closer to my mom and she put her arms around me, rubbing my back as I cried against her shoulder. I was a little bit taller then my mom, so I missed be able to only cry on her chest. I can't believe Hermes said that to me! He broke my heart and I only knew he was back only in a couple of hours! Why is he such a jerk? Where's my good loving caring Hermes?
I felt my dad hand go around my arm and he pulled me into his chest, so I couldn't cry there. My mom continued to rub my back and they kept asking me to tell them what's wrong, but I couldn't. Not now, it was to painful to talk about. I was never one to cry, I don't cry often unless it was a sad movie or book, so it was strange for them to find me crying.
I could finally crawl back into bed after they gave up and my dad told me he couldn't stay, he had to get to work, but he wants to know why I'm crying when he gets home. My mom made me tea, but I only took a sip before I just stared at the wall, feeling so empty. I haven't felt this way for a long time.

After school, I walked into my house and dropping my bag into the couch. The house cat, Sage, ran over and jumped into my arms. I scratched his black fur on top of his head and he purred as I walked into the kitchen where my mom was cooking herself something to eat.
“How was your first day?”, she asked, not looking up at me as she finished making her salad.
I couldn't tell her, Oh, it went horrible. There's werewolves in town and apparently, I'm destine to be with one of them. Other then that, no homework! “It went fine.”, I lied.
“Great.”, she said, popping a cherry tomato in her mouth as she finally looked up at me. “Lucinda called again.”.
I groaned, making a face, “I keep telling you, if you don't want to put a spell on the phone, block the number.”.
“No, that's rude.”, she said. “I still don't know why you broke up with her, she was a nice girl.”.
“She was crazy, ma.”, I said, giving her a 'duh' look.
“You dad said the same thing about me.”, she said. “And yet, he loved me.”.
“I don't need to hear what you and dad was back then.”, I said. “And Lucinda, she's literally crazy. She lets magic go to her head and she was insanely jealous.”.
“Her family was mix with white magic and her family bloodline is strong—like really strong.”, she said, giving me one of her disspointed look. She never would tell me she was disappointed that I broke up with Lucinda, but her looks say enough. “Would of have beautiful grand-babies.”. Us witches and warlock didn't start off born with magic, they started out as turning to the magic, but when two of them mate together, the children powers would grow stronger and with each generation, we only got stronger and we were born with the powers. My family is stronger, but Lucinda's was stronger and my mom was hoping I'll stay with her and we'll get married and have kids and blah, blah, blah.
I half-sighed and half-groaned, “Mom, not that again. I get it, but I'll find someone who's bloodline is stronger, I'm a gorgeous man, I'll find someone.” I cockily said.
She pursed her lips and sighed, “I just want you to be happy, Hermes.”.
“I know, but I was not happy with Lucinda.”, I told her and turned around so I could stop talking about my psycho ex. I jogged upstairs to my room and laid Sage on my bed. I laid down and he crawl up to around my neck. He always did that, ever since he was a kitten. He got so much bigger, so it was a little heavy on my neck. But hey, he's the master. We witches and warlock praise cat, they're so much wiser then us.
He sniff my shirt and hissed, making me chuckle, “Don't worry, Sage, I'll be staying away from her. Don't worry.”.

My mom knocked on the door before she came in, “Dinner ready.”.
“Not hungry.”, I told her. I was to upset to eat. My back was face towards her and I was scratching at the wall with my pointer finger.
She walked in towards me, “Sweetie, it's not healthy to be stuck inside your room all day.”, she said, sitting down next to me at my legs. “Should I lay with you until you feel better like how I did when you were little?”
“I'm not a baby anymore, mom.”, I said, just wishing she would leave so I could go back sullen in my own misery.
“Not true,”, she said, rubbing my legs to try and comfort me. “You'll always be my baby.”.
When I didn't say anything and think she would go away, I was wrong. She crawled up behind me and put her arms around my waist, holding me tightly in her arms. Some of her light brown hair fell over my shoulder and she smelt like my dad.
After a moment of silent, she asked, “What happened today in school?”.
I squeezed my eyes shut when tears started to form, thinking all the tears dried out, but they didn't. She was trying hard to not break and cry, she wanted to be stronger then this. Since when does she ever cry for some stupid boy? It's dumb. But it still hurt her. “He hurt me.”.
“Who?”, my mom asked, her voice sounded like a panic. “Jaycee, who?”.
“Hermes,”, I said. “He's back in town and he doesn't want to be with me.”.
“Oh.”, she said, sounded settling and I gasp out in shock. I turned in her arms and she pushed some of my hair out of my face, “Jaycee, I'm sure he didn't really mean it. I'm sure he's just surprised to see you.”.
“He isn't really.”, I said. “He showed no emotion when he saw me and he's a total jerk now. He isn't the same, mom.”.
She pushed my hair behind my ear, “He's handsome, huh?”.
I blushed hard, “Not the point.”.
She chuckled, “Handsome guys can be jerk.”.
“Dad wasn't.”, I pointed out.
She chuckled, sounded more giggly, “No, Jaycee, he wasn't. He was a total sweetheart, I was more of the mean one in the beginning, but not the point right now. Hermes is just a teenager, he think everything about him and himself only right now.”.
“It hard to picture that without me in it.”, I admitted, rubbing my hand under my nose where snot was still coming out. It was so gross, but I didn't care. “I always thought when we see each other, we'll be so excited and go into each other arm, telling each other how much we missed each other.”.
“Jaycee Russo, who knew you were so romantic?”, she asked, sounding surprised and grinned. “Totally get it from your dad.”.
“Mom!”, I whined, feeling a little embarrassed now. “I'm serious, I don't know what to do.”.
She was quiet for a moment, “All I can say is,”, she said, “Is to let it hurt. It's going to hurt so much right now, but he'll come around. You just have to make him see what he's missing.”.
“I'm impatient like you though.”, I reminded her. “And not to mention, totally stubborn.”.
“Believe me, Jaycee, once he gets to know you again, he'll be in love. Your likable person, you just don't talk to much people other then Jessica and Louis and family.”, she said, cupping my chin and kissed my head. “Now come on and eat. You'll need your energy. I want to meet this Hermes guys, finally get to see who my baby other half.”, she said as we sat on.
“Oh great.”, I sarcastically said, not sure if I’ll ever be ready to introduce Hermes to my parents. I know that'll be one interesting day.
(Hermes)
I was trying hard to escape my dream since I was in the King's hallways and I was coming towards Jaycee. I was telling myself I had to walk away, but I couldn't. She was standing near his locker in what she wore today. She defiantly did dress differently then most of the girls there. Her back was to to him and when he got to the locker, she turned and smiled up at him.
“I missed you.”, she said, stepping up on her tip toes and wrapped her arms around my neck. It was like slow motion as she leaned her head towards me. I felt nervous—which was strange. I haven't been nervous since my first when I was twelve. She bit her bottom lip for a second and when she was only an inch away, she paused.
My eyebrows came together and then I heard her wicked laugh. I cursed and rolled my eyes. I grabbed Jaycee's arms and unwrapped them around my neck.
“Who's she?”, Lucinda suddenly appeared, eying Jaycee as she circle her..
“Get out of my dreams, Luce.”, I told her. “Before I put that bind spell on you to leave me the hell alone.”.
She stopped and grinned, “Babe, if you really wanted that, you would have done it a long time ago. Or you just haven't learned it yet or not strong enough like me.”.
I glared at her, “Shut up and get out of here, I'm warning you.”.
“Why?”, she asked. “It's fun being in your dreams, but I have never seen her before.”, she said, playing with Jaycee's hair and I smacked her hand away. She looked surprised for a moment before pursing her lips, “You know her, don't you? What makes this normies so special for you to dream about?”.
“Doesn't matter.”, I hissed. “Get the hell out, leave me alone. This stalking.”.
She laughed, “Babe, it's the only way I can see you.”.
“Well I don't want to see you.”, I told her for the hundredth time, turning around to go somewhere else then here.
“Fine, but I'll just see who she is then—whoa!”, she chuckled when I quickly turned back around and stopped her from touching Jaycee. If she touched Jaycee, she'll see what I saw and I wasn't prepared for that. Lucinda crazy and I don't want her to find out. That'll be dangerous for both me and Jaycee. “Quick, aren't we?”.
“Leave.”, I told her sternly.
She snatched her arm out of my hand, “Who is she?”, she hissed back.
“None of your damn business.”, I said, closing my eyes tightly, trying to wake myself up. Come on! Please! Wake up!
She laughed just like a dark witch and it was starting to scare me, “I'll find out, Hermes. It's something you really don't want me to see and now, I'm just as more eager.”.
“Back off!”, I yelled, opening my eyes. “It's over, Lucinda!”.
She looked angry and pissed, “I'll say it's over when it's over!”, she said.
My eyes snapped open as I woke up and I quickly sat up, my chest rising and falling quickly. I took my blanket off me and sat on the edge of my bed, bring my hand up to my mouth. “Damnit,”, I said. This isn't good. Lucinda may come from a family of white witches, but she's has more like a dark witch. Black magic is dangerous and I have caught her a few time using it, one of the main reason I broke up with her. If she find out what Jaycee is and what I am to her, it's not going to end up pretty.
