Author's POV

Priya was going through some old files when she came across a photo of her lovely Kanika. Seeing it, she remembered a conversation with her lovely Nanda.

The conversation

"What are you looking at, Priya madam?" Kanika grinned at her aunt playfully.

"Nothing..."Priya tried to hide the photo in her hand, but Kanika snatched it from her hand.

"Hmmm...so this is happening without my knowledge," she smirked.

"How dare you admire my future husband without my permission?" Kanika furrowed her eyebrows with fake anger.

"Humph...future husband? Show your attitude to him, not me. And don't forget to be arrogant when you confess your love to him," Priya taunted her niece.

"What to do, my dear aunt? Whenever I see that moron, my legs shiver. And I hide," Kanika confessed, hugging her aunt from behind.

"But what about you. Don't you think you need to confess as well," Kanika mocked.

"Kanika..."Priya scolded her.

"Wow, from Nanda to Kanika...what a transition?... Are you trying to be my mother-in-law? Just wait till I get my hands on my Nandhu. Then this Kanika will rule him and his mom," she said with a fake smirk.

"What a wonderful dream, my darling...Keep working hard," Priya teased her.

"But trust me, aunt. If he marries someone, it would only be me. Or else I'm going to break his legs and make him bedridden and then marry him. After that, I will take care of him my whole life. Simple, isn't it?" Kanika winked her eyes at Priya.

"What a master plan? Where do you get such ideas? Don't ever show your brain in the sun...all your intelligence will be vaporized, "Priya slapped her forehead. (A/N...It's a Malayalam dialogue we usually tell our friends...I translated it to English because I found it funny😜😜😜🙏🙏🙏.).

"And also I will make him take all my deliveries.... he will deliver all our five babies. After all, he is a doctor. Why go to another doctor and waste money," she chuckled.

"You are mad. What should I do with this girl, God?" Priya huffed.

"And by the way, your Nandhu is a cardiologist, "she added.

"I don't care. Before taking that specialization in cardiology, he should have thought that in the future which field is more useful, "she shrugged her shoulders, and Priya laughed her heart out seeing her niece's childlike behavior.

Priya smiled, thinking about Kanika and where her life had brought her in the end, and started searching the files again.

"What's your plan, Priya?" Dev Pratap asked his sister, walking into the study.

"It's time for you to make your appearance in front of Saran Krishna and his family, brother, "she smirked.

"We have enough of their shares to take over both Saran group and RK group," she continued.

"I'm waiting to see their faces when they lose everything, Priya. But I want you to be there with me," Dev Pratap gave Priya a meaningful look.

"I want Kanika to be OK first. Then I will give them all the shock of their lives, "she grinned evilly.

"Saran can protest against us taking over the company because it is still in his name," Dev reminded her.

"No...it's not in his name...It was in his first wife's name but now in his son Yadhu's name. Since he is your son-in-law, you can claim it without any regret, "she winked at him.

"Yeah, right, Yadhu is just my son-in-law. What about you? What is he to you, Mrs.Priya Nandini Varma?" he asked her sarcastically.

Priya gave her brother a distressed look as she reminisced her painful past.

The past

Priya Nandini was the youngest daughter of the Varma family, an influential and wealthy folks. She was pampered by her parents Pratap Varma and Satyabhama Varma. She was the apple of her brother Dev Pratap Varma's eye. But soon, everything changed as rivals attacked Priya's parents, and they died in a bomb blast in their own office. The rivals snatched their property away from them, and the brother and sister didn't know what to do or turn to whom for help. Priya was only 16 when her brother decided to ensure her safety by placing her in an orphanage, hiding her name and identity. For the people in that orphanage, she was just Nandhini, an unfortunate orphan. And Dev Pratap Varma went on a ruckus to gain back whatever that belonged to them. It was not easy and was a real struggle for him. But he also made sure to keep an eye on his beloved sister. He was still struggling when he learned that Saran was after his little sister. He knew that Saran's family was highly respected and was righteous. Even when Priya protested, saying she needed time, Dev was desperate to make his beloved sister safe, and he believed in Saran's love for her. So he consented to Priya's marriage with Saran as Priya also had developed an affection for Saran by that time.

Things were going fine after Priya married Saran and Dev was happy for his sister's married life. Though the siblings never revealed anything to Saran and his family, they waited for the right time as rivals were still after Dev Pratap and his sister. Yadhu was born one and a half years later, and Priya had taken her husband's family business in her hands. Dev had gained back almost half of his family property by then, and he was struggling to strike back at his parent's murderers. He wanted to reveal his sister's family background to Saran's family, but by that time, differences between Saran and Priya were mainly due to Saran's insecurity. Saran started drinking with his best friend, Rajeev Menon. Devika was Rajeev's sister and a good friend to Nandini.

More problems arose between Saran and Nandhini due to a new manager named Varun Raj, who Rajeev Menon appointed.

Saran started accusing Nandini by taking Varun's name, and Nandini would retaliate strongly because she was a woman who held her self-respect above everything else.

Nandhini was tired of Saran's day-to-day accusations. She was only a little girl,barely 20,taking responsibility for a whole family, business, and little Nandhu. Despite their differences, Nandhini tried her best to save her married life as she loved Saran unconditionally.

But things took a different turn when she found out that someone was leaking the business details to their rivals. And soon she found that it was Varun Raj who was the mole in their company. She tried to inform Saran, but he refused to believe her but instead blamed that she was the one helping him.

But that didn't stop Nandhini from finding ways to expose Varun Raj. The day she planned to catch him, redhanded backfired because Varun threatened her with her Nandhu showing videos of him playing in the garden while he was being watched. Varun had planned to run away with the company money when Nandhini caught him red-handed. He threatened Nandhini to accompany him or else his men will shoot her young son. Nandhini had no other way but to obey him. She had no means to contact Saran, but luckily she had informed her brother Dev Pratap about Varun's treachery. Dev was on his way to help her when he found Varun taking his sister forcefully with him. He followed them a kept a close watch, but soon the car toppled over, losing its control shocking him.

Dev found his sister unconscious near the toppled car, and without wasting time, he took her to the hospital while Varun's car was engulfed in a flame.

Dev Pratap's PI's gave him complete information of what transpired in Nandhini's life, and he regretted neglecting his sister. He found out how Saran mistreated Nandhini, and his heart clenched in pain. He blamed himself for his sister's current state. Soon Nandhini slipped into a coma, and Dev was immersed in guilt and sadness. He was about to inform Saran about Nandhini, but he found out that Saran had branded her sister as a whore who tried to elope with his manager to the whole world. Dev was both angry and devastated that he took his sister to Bangalore and continued her treatment there. In the meantime, he learned that Saran had married Devika in just six months and was leading a happy life. He was disgusted at Saran by that time and swore to keep his sister away from him and his family. He wanted his sister to decide what to do with her life and her son. He was worried for his nephew Yadhu, but much to his relief, he found out that Krishna Ram was taking care of Yadhu with so much love and care.

Nandhini woke up after almost a year, and she suffered from various ailments due to coma for a prolonged period, including depression. She was in pain when she found that Saran had moved on in his life with Devika just in a short span after her proposed death. She cried every single day, thinking of Saran's betrayal. Also, the pain of being separated from her son ruined her health. But she was scared to go back to her son as she knew there was a master brain behind Varun, and that person had his eyes on Saran's property. She didn't have any pieces of evidence with her to prove her innocence. Also, her pride didn't allow her to return to a man who had already remarried another woman and had shared a bed with her. In her words, she loathed used things. But she kept an eye on her Nandhu from far, and she was sure that her father-in-law took good care of her son. She used to take Yadhu's pictures secretly and filed them. That's how her naughty niece developed a crush on Nandhu from an early age. Dev Pratap married a year later after Nandhini woke up from a coma to Suvarna, a sweet orphan girl, after much pressure from his sister. And a year later, Suvarna gave them happiness in the form of Kanika. Nandhini forgot her pain by taking care of Kanika. She had taken over Dev's business and led their company to the number one position by that time. But she never came out to the public. With success comes rivalry, and yet again, disaster struck them when rivals plotted to kill Dev. But Suvarna fell pawn to their plan and died in a car accident which was planned for Dev. But Nandhini stood firm for her brother and her niece and ever since became the pillar of the Varma family. She buried her past pain and humiliations and took care of Kanika like her own mother. But deep inside, she was dying every single day and blaming herself for not being a good mother to her Nandhu.

But until recently, she didn't know how Saran had treated her son like trash, and she couldn't bear her son's humiliation. She had misunderstood that though he had accused her falsely, he wouldn't mistreat his son. But hearing about how he ordered a DNA test and then the Anjali marriage drama made her blood boil.

to the present

"My son, brother... He is my son Yadhunandhan ...Priya Nandhini Varma's only son. I won't let that bastard's name be attached to my son's name anymore. I know maybe my son will hate me for not taking him with me. But I know he will forgive me after knowing the truth. And I know his love for Kanika. Soon both my children will be here with us, and I will make sure Saran, his illegitimate wife, his bastard, and his bitch daughter in law rots in hell. Well, I will give special treatment for that bitch, Anjali. She dared to harm my Nanda and my grandchild," Priya's eyes flamed in anger as she banged her hands on the table.

How was the chapter?

So past is revealed...Yadhu is Priya's son.And  Kanika is his cousin.Those who can't accept cousin marriage please know that it is accepted mostly in South India .Though I don't prefer it much it does happen even today.

Yadhu owns everything now.What will Anjali do now?Should I get her married to yadhu again😝😝😝🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️...just kidding😌😌😌
