Author's POV

"Nandhu...Please stop...let me sleep. It's so cold," Kanika whined groggily, but Yadhu wasn't paying heed to her requests.

"No...I won't leave you now. You are the one who provoked and tortured me, "he said, pulling her onto him.

"Pretty please...I'm sorry...Now let me sleep. It's so coldy coldy here," she begged, unable to open her eyes.

"No way...Just open your eyes and look at me, "Yadhu gently patted on Kanika's cheeks.

"Hmmm..." she whimpered as he carried her in his arms and placed her in the middle of nowhere.

"You are bad..." she said grumpily and reluctantly opened her eyes.

"Nandhuuu.I love you so much..." Kanika shouted excitedly as she took in her surroundings. Yadhu had brought her to the blue mountain valley where the flower bloom was at its best as the moonlit night illuminated the region's beauty.

"Is this heaven?" she queried innocently and jumped in excitement as all her sleep vanished, seeing the place she wanted Yadhu to take her.

Kanika stood closer to Yadhu as she was shivering a bit due to the cold weather. It was around four in the morning. Yadhu had literally dragged her to the valley in the early morning as he didn't want his Kani's wish to remain unfulfilled. It's been a week since Kanika was rescued from Antony. From that day onwards, Yadhu was treating his wife like a princess. He took care of every single need of Kanika, which gave Arjun a solid reason to make fun of him.

"Nandhu ...it's so cold, "Kani hugged him and stood extremely close to him, rubbing her nose on his cheeks. Yadhu took the shawl he had with him and wrapped it around Kanika protectively.

"Is it too cold for you? Shall we go back? "He asked her guiltily. He wanted to see the sunrise in the blue mountains together with Kanika. But seeing her shivering due to the cold weather made him worried.

"Let's go back to the car and wait inside till sunrise," he said, massaging her arms gently.

"Okay, "she agreed to him instantly and held onto him even more tightly. Yadhu took her back into the car and made her sit on the passenger seat, and he sat on the driver's seat.

"Sleep, Kani, there's still time for sunrise," he said, turning on the heater in the car and adjusting the temperature.

"Nandhu..."Kanika called him in one of her mischievous tones.

"What happened, Kani? Are you hungry?" Yadhu asked her with care. Suddenly he found Kanika jumping on him and straddling him.

"Nandhu, I want to sleep on your chest," she said as she buried her face on his chest and started rubbing it with her nose. Yadhu felt sparks flying through all of his body as Kanika tortured him with her closeness. He controlled his emotions whenever Kanika would try to get intimate with him.

"Kani...I will adjust the seat for you, or better, you can sleep in the back seat comfortably," he said to her softly as he changed the passenger seat to a lying position using the automatic control button.

"Nope...I want you, "she said stubbornly and slid her hand inside Yadhu's shirt erupting a volcano of sensations inside Yadhu's body. He was trying hard not to lose control, but Kani's actions were not helping him either. At that point, all he could see was an innocent seductress in his cute wife. All these days, he readily gave in to her innocent pecks and kisses like an obedient child without losing control. But today, he saw her in another light as she roamed her hands inside his shirt and kissed his lips to her content. The man inside him yearned to make himself complete. Slowly the emotions inside him rose to the peak as he started kissing her back fervently. Kanika added fuel to his burning desire by taking his palms and placing them on her bosoms. He slowly placed her on the passenger seat and kissed her neck while she pulled him close to her. As time passed, it started raining heavily outside. Kanika and Yadhu did not notice the change in weather outside as they melted into totality. Nature and the heavens witnessed them raining on each other... As the first rays of sunlight hit the earth, two loving souls became complete in a bond that will hold them united forever in the future.

"Kani ...Is it hurting? "Yadhu asked Kanika as he helped her wear her clothes. Strangely Yadhu did not feel guilty for what happened between them; instead, he was happy.

"No...Can we go out and see the mountains?" she asked excitedly, totally forgetting what passed between them almost an hour earlier. The rain had stopped, and the sun was starting to rise.

"Are you sure, Kani? "Yadhu was still concerned about her well-being though he had cared not to hurt her even when they were lost in heightened passion.

"Give me the mobile," she demanded, getting out of the car. Yadhu gave her his mobile and watched her take funny selfies in different backgrounds and sometimes pulling him along with her for the selfies. A smile always remained on his lips as he enjoyed the time with Kanika. Yadhu felt content for the first time in his life, and he knew that the reason for his satisfaction was Kanika. After spending some more time there, he took Kanika back home.

"Where did you take my sister early morning?" Arjun asked, scanning Yadhu suspiciously with his eyes the moment he and Kanika stepped into the house.

"Excuse me ...She is my wife...I can take her anywhere, and I don't need your permission...Go and bother your wife, "Yadhu replied, trying hard not to get caught red-handed.

"What?...When?...How did this happen?" Arjun asked dramatically, raising his brows.

"Kani, sweetheart...where did he take you? "Arjun asked Kanika, sitting beside a curious Shreya who had by now stopped working on her laptop.

"Nandhu took me to see the blue mountains, and you know what, Arju, Nandhu kis..."

"She meant we took selfies there...isn't it right, Kani...Don't you want to show them to Arju and Shrey?" Yadhu cut her off abruptly and distracted her by giving her his phone.

"Something is cooking between you and Kani..., and it's definitely not the breakfast. Don't worry, bro...I will find out soon," Arjun said, smirking at Yadhu and walked towards the kitchen. Yadhu sighed in relief as the topic was diverted, or he would have been embarrassed to death by none other than Arjun if he even got a hunch of what transpired between Kanika and him.

"Shrey...What happened? You look tense," Yadhu asked, looking at a tired Shreya.

"Nothing...the usual accounts of our hospitals...I'm unable to tally the accounts...This is so frustrating, "she vented out.

"Take a break, Shrey. I know you can do it," Yadhu tried to encourage her.

"Here, have this coffee," Arjun said to Shreya as he came there with a tray of coffee and hot chocolate for all of them.

"Thanks, "Shreya said as she started drinking the coffee.

"You should have studied MBA instead of becoming a doctor" Arjun laughed.

"True ...I have to finish it by today, and I have no idea how to do it," she said as she pushed the laptop to Kanika's side and got up in frustration.

"Don't worry, Shrey. We will help you," Arjun and Yadhu assured her together.

"Thanks, dears...What will I do without you both?" She said lovingly to both of them but shrieked, suddenly noticing Kanika doing something on her laptop.

"Kani..".she almost cried." Please stop playing with the laptop. I have important documents in it," Shreya practically begged her.

"Sorry..."Kanika said, looking up from the laptop meekly, and she moved away and started playing with her dolly.

Shreya ran and took the laptop in her hand and frantically looked into it.

"Don't blast on my Yami...I mean, Kani, if some of your documents are lost. We can retrieve them by giving them to a computer expert," Arjun bailed out on Kani.

Yadhu, too was stressed seeing Shreya's expression as she stared into the laptop like she had seen a ghost.

"What is it, Shrey?" They both asked her.

"How did she do it? "Shreya blurted out in amusement, looking at the laptop and Kanika.

"What did she do? "Yadhu implored her.

"Kani solved my problem. My accounts are tallied ...but how?" Shreya was half laughing as she again stared at Kanika, who was busy playing with her doll.

"Kani...I love you. You just solved my biggest headache. How did you do it?" Shreya hugged Kanika.

"I don't know, "she answered, still busily playing.

"Who taught you this? "Yadhu asked, trying to get something out of Kanika related to her past.

"I have helped Priya aunty," she answered promptly and continued to play.

"Who is Priya aunty? "Yadhu asked again, to which Kani started thinking hard.

"Stop bothering her, Yadhu, "Shreya said suddenly as she heard the name.

"Exactly," Arjun supported her immediately.

"But we still have to find her father or anyone related to her; I promised her that," Yadhu said, remembering his words to Kanika.

"Just leave it, for now, "Arjun tried to distract Yadhu, who was lost in his thoughts.

"Amazingly, she solved Shrey's problem...Maybe she is an MBA graduate," Arjun opined. And both of them stared at Arjun.

"Why do you both forget that I'm a neurosurgeon? Though Kanika has only memories of her childhood, the things she learned will remain in her mind and resurface eventually. Maybe seeing your accounts, her ability to solve the problem may have resurfaced," Arjun explained with a grim face. Shreya gave him a knowing look as they both exchanged glances.

"Does that mean she is going to get her memories back soon?"Yadhu asked with expectation.

"Hmmm....Maybe," Arjun answered with a bit of distress in his words.

"And I pray to God that her memories never return," Arjun muttered, audible only to himself.
