Varma group of Industries, Bangalore

"Madam...Mrs.Anjali Harsh is constantly trying to get an appointment with you," the personal staff of Mrs.Priya Varma informed her.

"I'm not interested in her or her business ideas, even if she makes money from the air. Just ask her to stop bothering us," she waved off her staff in annoyance.

"I have better things to do than handle a bitch like her. She thinks she is the best in the business field. Tell her that I deny her proposal downright," Mrs. Priya snapped.

"Ok, Madam ...I will inform her right away," the staff left, and she closed her eyes in deep thought.

"Priya...How are you, my child?" The voice of her lawyer, who was also their family friend, brought her back from her thoughts. It was Mr.Sharath Nambiar, the legal advisor of the Varma group.

"Stressed...as usual...What made you remember me, Sharath Uncle?" she asked, pointing towards the seat in front of her table.

"I thought you would be yelling at me for barging into your cabin without permission," he chuckled.

"Uncle, you are the only person who has the right to come and meet me anytime, "she smiled genuinely at him.

"Hmmm...time for some serious talk now. I want to talk about Nanda," he said firmly.

"What about her?" Priya queried.

"Did you find her?" He questioned Priya grimly.

"Yes ...she is in safe hands," she answered promptly, not wanting to give any other information.

"Why are you not bringing her back here then? Have you any idea what will happen when the investors find about Dev and Nanda?" he panicked.

"I have kept my brother's accident and Nanda's missing a complete secret.No one will ever find out what happened to them. And rest assured, Uncle, I have handled these people before. So I can handle them now as well," she huffed.

"Of course, child, I know you love Nanda and how much you have struggled to make this company number one. This old man was supposed to retire long back, but Dev and you made me handle your legal issues till now. Don't you think it is high time you hire someone else?" He smiled playfully.

"Who said you are old? You are still young, "she teased him.

"Go ahead tease me and make me do all your work, "he scoffed, and Mrs.Varma laughed her heart out.

"It's been long I have seen you laugh this heartily," Sarath mused.

"Don't you think you should tell the truth to your..., "he started, but Mrs.Priya cut him off abruptly.

"No...not here, uncle. Even the wall has ears. And there's still time to reveal the truth," she jeered.

"Did you find out who caused the accident?" He asked suddenly.

"I have an idea, and my PI's are gathering the evidence. Once I have them, I will destroy the person who tried to harm my brother and Nanda," she snarled.

"I think you can take a rest now that you have found Nanda. You have trained her well enough to handle the Varma Group, right. Moreover, you and Dev have transferred the shares in her name. I know Nanda; she can manage the business and her enemies like a piece of cake," Mr.Sarath Nambiar reminisced.

"Soon...my Nanda will take care of this business empire, but there are many hurdles as of now," Priya sighed.

"Hurdles? Is Nanda ok?" he asked with concern, and Priya briefed him.

"Who is she with now? Is she safe?" The old man was worried.

"She is with..."Mrs.Priya was about to reply when her PA rushed in, panting for air.

"Madam...Dev Sir is awake. There was a call from the hospital. He is asking for you," her PA informed.

"Let's go. Come with me to the hospital, Uncle," she said to Mr.Sarath and walked out hurriedly.

Yadhu's POV

"Kani...Please stand properly. Stop moving now,' I said sternly, but who am I kidding. Kanika was having fun splashing water on me and giggling nonstop. After finding her drenched in blood in the attic, I noted that she had her monthly period and was totally scared. But the ordeal was convincing her to take a bath and clean her privates.

"Nandhu..." she squealed as she kept on drenching me in the water while I desperately tried to bathe her. After getting into the bathtub, not even bothered by her nakedness, all she did was try to make me fall into the water.

"Kani...If you don't let me bath you, I will go away and never come back, "I used the last weapon in my hands.

"Sorry, Nandhu..." she shrieked and pouted, falling silent all of a sudden. Taking the opportunity, I bathed her quickly and dried her using the towel while she stood lost in thought. I then made her wear my T-shirt and gave her the sanitary pad and her underpants. She looked at the pad like it was an alien thing and gave it back to me with a shrug. And then it struck me that she had no idea how to use it. Cursing myself for being an idiot, I helped her use it.

After that, I asked her to go out and lay down on the bed for some time until I change my clothes, to which she meekly agreed. As I came out of the washroom, I found her curled up on the bed, clutching her tummy.

"Kani...Is it paining?" I asked with worry.

"Hmmm..." she whimpered.

"Nandhu ...Am I going to die? she cried.

"No...it's your monthly periods, "I said, not knowing how to explain it to her.

"Hmmm...Do you get this too? "she asked innocently.

"No...only girls get this, "I said, sitting near her.

"Why?" she asked, taking my hands in hers and placing them on her stomach.

"Because girls are special, and God gave them this gift so that they can bring a new life to this earth, "I said, caressing her stomach.

"A new life?" She looked confused.

"Babies," I cleared her confusion.

"Babies?... Does that mean I'm too going to have a baby after this is over?" she asked her doubts.

"No...You will have babies once you grow up. Now go to sleep," I tried to convince her.

"Nandhu...Will you sleep with me?" she asked, looking at me hopefully.

"Of course, after you drink this porridge," I said, pointing towards the hotpot I had filled with the porridge that I had made earlier.

"Ewww...I want chocolates," she pouted stubbornly.

"All your teeth will be gone before you know it if you keep on eating chocolates. You have lost so much weight roaming here and there. Don't think I will fall for your antics," I said curtly.

She looked away angrily and unwillingly sat up on the bed. A small smile graced my lips as I saw her childlike face. I fed her the porridge, which she ate quietly with a pissed-off look.

"Good girl," I praised her when she finished the entire bowl of porridge. Then I gave her some painkillers, which she swallowed with a disgusting look adorning her face.

"I wish Arju were here. He is the good doctor who always gives me chocolates," she vented out her frustration.

"Yeah, right. He is the one who spoilt you rotten," I chuckled, tucking Kani inside the comforter.

Before I could do anything, she pulled me down, making me fall beside her on the bed.

"You promised you would sleep with me," she said expectantly.

"Woah, tigress...That I will," I said, pulling her to my chest.

"Nandhu..."She called.

"Hmmm..."

"Will you give me a kissi kissi here?" She asked, drawing circles with her finger on my chest.

I kissed her forehead without bothering where she asked me to kiss her. She often asks me for a kiss, and it has been a routine for me now to kiss her forehead.

"Not there," she growled.

"Then where does my Kani want a kiss?" I asked teasingly.

"Here..." she said, sitting up on the bed and pointing towards her lips.

"What the hell? Who taught you this?"I almost yelled at her angrily, and the next instant regretted it as she started crying badly.

"Kani...stop crying. I didn't mean to yell at you. But stop being childish and don't ask for a kiss on the lips...It isn't good," I somehow managed to speak out.

"No...You are lying. It feels good when you kiss me. Why does it feel all the time like I want you to touch Kani's whole body?" She whined, looking at me anxiously.

"Kani...don't think of anything else. It's ok ...Go to sleep now. You are tired, "I comforted a weeping Kani as she laid down on my chest again and drifted off to sleep slowly due to the effect of painkillers.

As soon as she slept, I placed her on the bed and got up quickly as a strange fear started engulfing me, making me spent the rest of the night restless. I desperately wanted to talk to someone regarding Kani's current condition.
