Annalise's POV

One fateful day, it all began.. Anna was invited to her friend, Letti's party. Letti had just been accepted into a very prestigious school and to celebrate, her family and friends decided to throw a little party for her. As Anna arrived, she hopped out of a mutual friend's truck and happily walked up to the door, knocking before calling out to her friend behind her.

"Hey, Noah! You slowpoke will you get your butt over here already, they'll open the door any minute!" She smiled and greeted Letti's mother, before going inside and greeting all the other guests and seeing how the party has pretty much already begun. She helped herself to some snacks and watched as two boys we're hogging the television in the living room.

"Mortal Kombat X? That's awesome, I didn't know the new game came out.."

"Hey Anna."

Her attention was grabbed and she looked over to where the voice was calling her from. She saw her friend and immediately hugged her.

"I'm so proud of you Letti!! I can't believe you're going off to college without me!"

"Me either! Who knew I would pass?" They laughed it off and rejoined the others.

"Oh hey, these guys are having a tournament for the game their playing, you can join if you want."

Anna seemed amused and signed herself up. "Alright sure, I've always wanted to play this game but you know my mom, she never lets me do anything."

A few rounds went by as Anna waited for her turn, finally her first match left as soon as it came, leaving her victorious on the first round. She had gotten pretty riled up by the excitement of all the other kids she couldn't wait to face her next opponent. In an hour, she managed to beat all the other players except one: Letti's stepbrother. He was the strongest player from the others from what she could see and he seemed to be very competitive. She knew, this would be no walk in the park.
