Chapter cuatro
Hello my wonderful readers!
THIS BOOK REACHED 1K! THANK ALL OF U SOOOOOO MUCH!
Percy POV
I watch as Tony and Steve's mouths drop to the ground. I smirk, and swing my legs over the edge of the bed. "The greek gods, specifically."
"Liar." Tony states, crossing his arms stubbornly. I snort.
"Believe me, I wish I was lying. But unfortunately, it's all true." I intertwine my fingers, and pace the floor. I nearly slip on the wood floor because of my socks, but manage to pace unharmed.
"So, what are you, a god?" Steve asks, shooting Tony a look.
"No. I almost was, but nah." I explain. At this point, the pair looked incredibly confused. I laughed.
"Well, what is this, some sort of guessing game? Spit it out, kid." Tony complains, narrowing his eyes.
I sigh. "I said I wasn't a full god. The truth is, I'm half and half."
"Like the iced tea?" My uncle smirks.
"No. Half god, half human. I'm a demigod. Or a half-blood. Which ever you prefer." I shrug, and look at the two avengers in front of me. Both have a mixture of fear, awe, disbelief and confusion in their faces.
"So you're related to a god?"
"Yeah. My dad." I respond curtly, taking out riptide. "Poseidon, god of the seas." I puff out my chest dramatically. "I've saved Olympus, killed some primordial, you know."
Tony scoffs. "Prove it."
I roll my eyes, and stare at the glass of water on my nightstand. The water lifts up into the air, slowly making it's way to Tony, who's eyes are wide as saucers.
The water collapses on his head, instantly soaking his hair. But my uncle barely seems to notice.
"I can also control earthquakes and hurricanes." I say. The ground shakes for a few seconds before coming to a standstill. He comes towards me, and starts poking me with his index finger.
"Hey!" I exclaim, drawing away. "What was that for?"
"Making sure you were real." He says, face still awestruck. He walks around me, studying me like a test subject. "What blood do you have then? What in your body let's you do what you do? Man, if I could get you to my lab..." Tony muses, a look of excitement lingering on his face.
"Stark!" Steve shouts, blasting Tony out of his thoughts. "That's your nephew, he's not a test subject!" I nod along with every word. Steve has been acting more uncle-ey than Tony so far. He probably cares more about my well-fare than my uncle does. It's really nice to be cared about...
Stark sighs. "Well, I should probably tell Fury abo-"
"Woah, whoa, whoa. Hold it Stark." I cut in, fear coursing through my veins. "You can't do that."
"Why not?" He asks, irritated.
"Your boss is part of some secret government. His whole job is to find and 'examine' people like me. I don't necessarily want to be dissected in some fancy lab." I say angrily, throwing my arms up. "Just because I'm only half-human doesn't make me any less humane!" The sink from the bathroom in my room explodes with my tantrum, wetting the floor.
Tony's head snaps to the flood.
"Dude, first my head, now the floor? You haven't even been here for a day yet!" He complains.
"Both of you, stop!" Steve shouts. "Your uncle won't tell, Percy. I'll make sure of it. There's no need to flood the place."
"Fine." I sigh, and the room and Tony's hair dries. "Let's just not mention this. No one else will know about me or my, say, 'secret'. Ok?"
"What about the rest of the team? Shouldn't they know?" Tony asks.
"Nope." I say shortly. "You guys weren't even supposed to know. If it weren't for your stupid security cameras, you wouldn't."
"Stupid? Those cameras..."
3rd Person POV
He spun around in his chair as the two bickered. Smart retorts back and forth for a while, whilst Rogers kept interfering, trying to break up the quarrel.
He hadn't known that Stark had a nephew. Nor that this nephew was the son of a greek god.
Percy Jackson was surely a threat. There was no doubt about it. Anyone who could control water and earthquakes could not be allowed to roam freely.
He had to be attained. He swiveled around in his chair once more, thinking. It was clear to him that under all of Iron man's layers, he did truly care for the boy. Anyone trained to the same extent as him would know that.
So as Fury gazed into the screen, watching the trio argue, one thought stuck in his mind.
Percy Jackson had to be attained.
Tony Stark/ Iron man POV
I pick at my pizza, glaring across the table at Percy. He rolls his eyes, and shoves his fourth slice in his mouth.
Natasha sighs.
"You two need to relax." She says, setting down her fork.
"Why?" I ask, blinking twice.
"Well, Percy here is going to be staying here for a year. At least try to get along." I open my mouth to retort, when a thundering noise erupts in the room. The power flickers, and suddenly Thor is standing in front of us.
"Greetings, Avengers." He says, raising his hammer.
"Wow, dude. You really have a flair for dramatic entrances." Percy says, nodding his head approvingly.
Thor has a confused look on his face. "Who would you be, boy?"
"Percy Jackson, at your service." Percy salutes, and continues eating his pizza. "Who are you?" He asks with a mouthful of food.
The thunder god's eyes fly wide. "Percy Jackson? Son of-"
"Heeeyy, buddy. Before we go out giving all my very, very, very personal information to you, why don't you tell me who you are?" Percy laughs nervously. I look down at my plate. This isn't going to go well.
"Thor Odinson." Thor says blankly, still staring at Percy. "God of thunder."
"God of say what now?" He asks, moving his chair backwards. "You know man, why don't we take this outside
Thor grunts in assent, and Percy stands up to leave. But before they can go anywhere, the elevator doors slide open, and Fury steps out. Followed behind him are five armed soldiers. My stomach churns. The security cameras...
"Perseus Jackson, you are under arrest."
xXxXxXxXxXxXx
Yup, they know.
