Percy POV

Needless to say, I got more than a few weird looks strolling through the isles of the Target. Dirt and grime encased pretty much my whole body, and I was bleeding from a few different wounds.

I kept glancing apprehensively at the entrance, waiting for some monster or angry immortal to break in. I thought back to the angry woman who had chased me here.

I honestly didn't have the slightest clue who she was. All I knew was that she wanted to avenge some murder I apparently committed. I rubbed my SPQR tattoo nervously as I pushed past a rack of sweaters, mumbling the occasional 'sorry' as I ran into shopping carts and annoyed adults.

I ducked into the refrigerated section. I wiped a small river of blood rolling down from my temple off my face with the back of my hand, and caught a slightly horrified glance from a small boy clutching a stuffed bear. His mother pulled him closer, and tugged him down the isle. I felt a small painful stab in my chest, but turned and ignored it.

"You look familiar." My head snapped around, to see a man wearing a suit, with hi hair slicked back and shining.

"Uh, OK. Er- have a nice day." I began to speed walk away, but the man put a hand on my shoulder, which felt more stiff and threatening than comforting. My hand was held in place above my pocket, ready to retrieve my sword at any given moment.

"I'm agen-" Suit guy began, but was forced to stop when a loud screech erupted from the entrance.

"PERSEUS JACKSON!"

Oh crap.

I uncapped riptide, ignoring the screams and shouts of the mortals. It was the crazy lady again.

"Hi!" I yelled back at her, stepping forward. "How's it been going in crazy town?" She didn't seem amused, and snarled back at me. I saw her eyes flash red, and large scaly wings sprout out of her back.

"You have killed many, Percy Jackson." She growled, monster-like features overtaking her whole body. I saw claws jut out of her nails. "You have caused much pain and suffering, and it must be avenged." Something inside me clicked at the word avenged. I took in her demon like appearance, and flashes of my 12-year old self fighting my pre-algebra teacher. My mouth formed an 'o' shape, as I nodded in sudden realization.

"I think I figured out who you are." I snapped my finger. "You're her sister- Ms. Dod- Alecto's, I mean. You're one of the furies. Tisiphone, the avenger, I think." A sickly evil smile crawled onto her face, and I noticed that her teeth were as sharp as daggers. I wondered what would happen if she accidentally bit her tongue. I winced.

Get back on track, Perce. I reminded myself.

"Who knew that there was actually some knowledge hidden behind that dumb brain of yours?" The fury asked rhetorically. I heard something shuffling behind me, and flicked my head around.

I saw the guy from earlier holding a gun outstretched, and a confused expression on his face, as if he wasn't sure whether to shoot me, the completely normal teenage boy accused of murder, or the giant winged monster. I could already tell that he could see through the mist, and swore mentally.

"I'd recommend standing down." He said calmly, his eyebrows raised. I scoffed. "Or things may start to get violent."

"You foolish mortal!" The fury shouted after releasing a deep cackle. "You think that pitiful piece of metal could defeat me?"

"Probably not." I interjected. Then I uncapped my pen, and grinned. "But this can." I saw raw fear flash through the monster's eyes, and fought back a  laugh. I looked behind me, and saw that the families and mortals had mostly scattered and left, except for the suit man, who was still standing defiantly, although barely concealed shock was clear on is face. Well, I guess its not everyday you see a pen turn into a sword, or a woman turn into a creepy monster thing.

I yelled and charged at Tisiphone, my sword clutched tightly in my hand. I hacked and slashed at her wrinkled skin. She shrieked in pain as riptide scratched her arm, releasing a stream of blood rolling down her arm.

In a flash she pulled out a long whip. Flames licked at the edges as she swung it, and I barely managed to dodge the deadly strike. She hissed in frustration, baring her yellowing fangs. I held out my hand towards the water fountain in the corner, and used it just in time to create a shield around me before the fury swung at me again. I made a pair of giant watery hands, and formed one into a fist before slamming it into her face, causing her to fall back against a wall of shopping carts. The metal clanged against the wall. And, ironically, the fury's look of hatred turned to pure rage.

She lunged at me faster then I thought humanly, (or monsterly,) possible. I heard a bang and a shout, and saw a bullet streak through the air, and clash into Tisiphone, before bouncing off.

I looked to see the culprit of the distraction, and saw the mortal dude. Tisiphone didn't look physically affected in any way, but was ticked off beyond belief. She flew towards the guy, and was about to swing, but I rushed a huge wave of water in front of him, and she crashed head first into it.

"I will avenge this, Percy Jackson." She promised. "I will be back, and you will not be so fortunate next time around." Then with a flash, she was gone.

I sighed, brushing off some stray specks of gold dust off my t-shirt. "And this is why I hate Target."

"What was that?" The suit guy piped up, his eyes narrowed.

I ignored his question and moved into the light, trying to form a rainbow. I searched in my pockets for a drachma, finally finding one, and chucking it into the rainbow.

"Oh Fleecy, do me a solid, show me Annabeth Chase, Camp Half-Blood." The colors swirled, before showing me the blonde I was so eager to see. "Hey Wise Girl!" Annabeth dropped her glass of water in surprise, and had out her dagger before I could continue. I held up my hands in surrender. "Woah. Um... I don't think you're dagger will work through an IM."

Don't go to Target, kids.

Bad things will happen.

Stay cool demigods,
