Ten years later

With the sound of my alarm going off I slap the snooze button and rolled over shadow was sleeping on his pillow with Casper laying next to him, they both lifted their heads and looked at me. "I know, I know time to get up." I said smiling as I flipped the covers back, stretching and yawning I got up and headed to the bathroom. After brushing my teeth and showering I got dressed, heading to the kitchen with Shadow and Casper brushing against my legs "alright, so what will it be today?" I said looking down at Shadow as Casper leaped onto the counter "lady's choice then." As I feed them waiting for the water for tea to finish, I checked my email and answering machine as I eat a bagel. "Hello this Michelle Newmark from Bowman general hospital I'm calling about your father James Smith. He hasn't paid his last bill and we haven't be able to reach him if you can call me back my number is 734-667-7894, thank you." I sat staring at the machine.

I haven't seen or heard from my father in years yet he had my phone number, i wonder if he knew where i lived as well.

I feed casper and shadow, "OK guys no parties while I'm gone." I said grabbing my bag and keys." I locked the door and headed toward the stairs. "Morning Carrie." said Mr. Stanton as he sweep his porch off "heading to work?" " yea do you need anything? " i asked as i stopped at his gate "just some orange juice if you don't mind." He said smiling "no problem, see you later." I said walking up the street to the bakery. I walked in and stood at the end of the line, i looked at the clock " hey so what can i get you?" Luke said once i reached the counter "just a small black tea and two scones." I said looking down leaning my bangs fall forward " one black tea and two biscuits." He said smiling "um so i was wondering." I looked up at him as he placed my tea and scones on the counter " there's this um.. antique auction this Friday, would you like to um.. go with me?" He asked

as i hand him the money for my breakfast "um i don't know i have to work." I said as he hand me my change "oh OK, well let me um know if your free. " he called out as i walked out the door. When i got to the shop Mrs. Wands was waiting at the door "Good Morning Carrie , how are you?" she said as i unlocked the door "Good." i said pushing open the door flipping the sign from closed to open. i moved towards the behind the counter setting my bag under the counter. "Dear do you still have that beautiful mirror frame, i was wanting to get it from my granddaughter's baby shower?" she said looking around me to the shelves "Yes it's in the back, excuse me." i said as i walked into the back and pulled the frame from the shelf over the computer, i was planning on buying it for myself "well sorry my friend guess your going home with someone else today." i said as i walked back to the counter "yes you still have it." she said smiling as i placed it on the counter "would you like to have it wrapped?" i asked pointing to the wrapping paper on the wall behind me "yes thank you." she said i picked it up and placed it in a box,putting the lid on " what kind of wrapping paper would you like me to wrap it in?" i said as i moved to the wrapping paper wall "ooh the pretty pink and blue flowery one." she said pointing to it. i pulled down the length i need to wrap the box. After I finished wrapping the box, I ring up her "Thank you, now you have a nice day." she said heading towards the door "You,too." I said as the door closed I sighed moving from behind the counter.

Just as I headed to the back to take my break, I heard the bell in the front door jingle "Excuse me?" said a female,"How may i help you?" i ask turning around to face a tall, brown hair, slightly older female. "I'm looking for a wedding present for my daughter, I emailed you about it three weeks ago." she said looking and walking around
