Kyungsoo's POV

I hate coming out during the day. Lucky for me it was a cloudy day so I didn't have to worry about sun burn.

Yes, I am a vampire.

No, the sun does not burn me to ashes but I'm very sensitive to it.

I hate how we are portrayed in movies as if we are weak beings who can't handle the heat of the sun.

The worst assumption was that we turn into bats and sleep in coffins.

Firstly, I have nothing against bats but really (rolls eyes).

Secondly, coffins are for the dead and we are undead but we also appreciate the comfort of a bed when we rest.

No one enjoys cold hard surfaces. I might be cold blooded but I like to keep warm and comfortable.

Anyways back to serious business.

There has been a report of rouges terrorizing this area and it's my duty to set them straight. Or kill them. It's their choice at the end of the day. If they will listen to reason or not.

Rouges are usually stubborn and violent so I'm sure it will just be one problem down in the end.

So far I haven't met a rogue that listens to reason.

If they weren't so close to the city I might have left them alone.

MIGHT.

I caught their scent. It was disgusting and easy to identify.

No. I don't hate werewolves or think they stink. It's rouges I have a problem with.

They were 3 and that wouldn't be a problem.

As their scent got stronger I put my game face on. It was time to switch to beast mode. Fangs and all.

I was about to jump out when I spotted a fourth person. I paused wondering who it was and why I had not caught their scent.

He was small and even from afar I could see he was beautiful. Finally catching his scent I realized he was an omega and the way he hugged himself showed his fear.

Hearing what they were saying I became furious and just wanted to rip their heads off. Omegas were meant to be protected not taken advantage of.

At that moment they attached the small beautiful boy but before I could make a move he took one man down in his human form before taking the other down in his wolf form.

The way he switched from defensive to offensive amazed me. He was stronger than he looked.

Then the idiot on left locked his neck in his jaws and I knew it was my time to step in.

Baekhyun's POV

Just when I was about to lose consciousness I felt the earth shake beneath me.

I guess hell was already opening its doors for me. I always knew heaven would shut its doors considering I was no longer worthy.

All of a sudden my neck was free.

I was able to breathe again as my vision cleared.

I looked around to attack but all three rogues were now dead. I know I didn't kill them and at that moment I locked eyes with a very beautiful man.

He had black hair and heart shaped lips that gave me a comforting smile. He wasn't tall and I assumed we were about the same height and age.

Only when he walked towards me did I panic and move back.

"Hey little guy don't run away I won't hurt you" he said and even his voice was comforting. I felt like I could trust him so I stood still.

"Can you shift so that we can talk?" He asked and I immediately shifted back to my human form. He handed me his oversized jacket which covered enough.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Ba...Baekhyun," I stuttered in response. I took a deep breath. I was tired of being weak.

"I'm Kyungsoo but all my friends call me D.O." he introduced himself and only awkward silence followed.

"What are you?" I asked. I knew he was not human but his scent was unfamiliar to me.

"I'm a vampire," Kyungsoo responded with a grin. That's when I saw his fangs.

"Wow...but why did you help me? Don't vampires hate werewolves?" I asked, remembering how my parents used to tell me to be careful when associating with vampires.

"Only those who keep grudges from wars and disputes that happened centuries ago. I only hate rogues. Which reminds me. I have to thank you for weakening those assholes for me. You made my job much easier. You are pretty strong for an omega." He gave me his heart shaped smile and it must have been contagious because I felt myself smiling back.

"I'm the one who has to thank you. If you didn't come in when you did I could have...," I couldn't even finish my sentence thinking about how close I was to death. Moon Goddess thank you.

"Don't worry. Let's just say we helped each other," he said and I nodded with a smile.

"Tell me where you stay so that I can take you home to your pack," Kyungsoo said and I couldn't help but frown.

"I don't have a home. My pack was killed," I said looking away as my tears flowed thinking about my family and what happened to them because of me.

"Who killed your pack and why?" He asked and anger was evident in his voice.

"I don't know. I was young at the time and I have been on my own since then." I had to lie. I couldn't get him mixed up with Cyrus. He was ruthless and dangerous. By now he must have ripped apart all surrounding lands looking for me. I shuddered at the thought.

"It's okay...shhhhh...don't cry," he said as he wiped my tears and hugged me.

I just let out all my grief. It was the first time I had been held and comforted in 3 years. I felt safe and finally could grieve over my family, friends and whole pack.

Over the suffering I had endured for years under Cyrus. Over every horrible and unspeakable thing that had happened to me.

He held me tighter.

"You will never be alone again. I got you." Those were the last words I heard before losing consciousness.
