Yeol's POV

I was feeling a bit anxious about being separated from my mate. I know it hasn't even been a week since we were together but I never wanted him to be away from me for too long. It must be the mate bond that's growing.

I was just about to stand up and check up on Baekhyun when my cellphone rang. Without a second thought I answered it.

"Hello," I quickly said.

"It's good to hear your voice Yeol." I immediately recognized her voice and I froze on the spot.

"Yes, Yeol. I'm still alive. You didn't push that stake deep enough my love," she said.

"Don't call me that," I responded with anger. By now everyone else had stopped talking and were listening to the phone call with their super-hearing.

"Oh yes. That reminds me. Congratulations on finding your mate. He is a real beauty," she said angering me even more.

"You really should take better care of your property considering how many enemies you have. I wonder how much I will get paid for handing over the famous hunter Yeol's mate. Don't worry as long as he is with me he will be well taken care of. Good bye my love," she said before cutting the call.

OH NO.

I immediately rushed to the bathroom to find it empty.

'HELL NO. NO ONE TAKES OUR MATE AND GETS AWAY WITH IT' Zander flipped in rage.

"What's happened Yeol?" Kyungsoo asked right behind me.

"They took Baek and someone's definitely going to die today."

Baekhyun's POV

I woke up in a very unfamiliar room. I wanted to rub my tired eyes but I couldn't move. That's when I realized I had been chained to a chair.

I looked around and realized I was in a dull dungeon like room.

Then everything came back to me. The restaurant, the bathroom, the man in the mirror and then darkness.

Oh no. I have been kidnapped. Please don't let it be Cyrus. Not when I just found my mate. I wanted to scream but something was covering my mouth.

I heard voices in the distance but soon footsteps were coming closer to the room.

The door opened and several men in black suits walked in before a beautiful woman in a red dress and matching lipstick walked in last. They set a chair right in front of mine and she sat down.

I could smell that they were all vampires which didn't make my situation any better but I was relieved it wasn't Cyrus.

She ripped something off my lips and I realized it was duck-tape as I screamed in pain.

"Wow. It really is true. You are exceptionally beautiful," she said with a smile but I could tell she had evil intentions.

She reached out to touch my face but I growled in response. She laughed before slapping me on my right cheek so hard that I could taste blood in my mouth.

"It's also true that you are very stubborn," she continued. I gave her a glare as she smiled at me like she had no intentions to hurt me.

"I know you're confused and wondering why this is happening beautiful. There's a lot you don't know about your mate. He has made a lot of enemies over the years and a lot of people want his head served on a silver platter." I growled even more when she spoke about my mate in that way.

"Calm down puppy. It's a fact. I originally just planned to kill you to break him but I just discovered you are worth more than that. You have caused quite a few problems for a certain someone. The reward on your head is too tempting to ignore," she said and I immediately began to panic.

NO NO NO NO NO.

"But on the other hand, I could just kill your mate and keep you for myself. You're too precious and killing such a rare beauty would be such a waste. Don't you agree." I realized too late that tears were flowing down my face.

I'm so useless. I had been captured again and my mate was going to die because of me.

WHY WHY WHY?

All I wanted was a simple life that wasn't complicated but that didn't seem to be my destiny.

She was about to speak when loud noises were heard a distance away and a few of the men in the room ran out.

"Looks like Romeo has arrived. Let's end this shall we," she said revealing a gun before she kissed me on the cheek and walked out of the room locking me back inside.

I struggled to get loose. I cried and screamed but nothing worked. I was stuck and that crazy woman was going to kill my mate and give me back to Cyrus.

They could do whatever they wanted with me but I would die if they killed Yeol.

He was my everything and I loved him. Why does everyone close to me have to die while I live.

If this beauty is what keeps me alive then it is a curse because it just causes death around me.

I couldn't help but sob as the violence on the outside became louder and louder.

The door was smashed open and I closed my eyes in fear of that woman flashing her victorious smirk in my face.

Instead, I felt arms wrap around me and I was consumed by my mate scent which filled me with comfort.

I slowly opened my eyes before I was face to face with my mate. He had tears in his eyes.

"I'm sorry Baekkie. This is all my fault. I should have protected you better," he said before kissing me on the lips.

He ripped the chains apart before embracing me into his arms. By this time Kyungsoo was also in the room. I could tell by his scent.

"I...I thought...I would...never...see you...again," I cried out between sobs and he held me tighter.

"I'm sorry Baek never again. I will never let you out of my sight again," Yeol said.

"But she said..."

"She's dead. I madesure of it. She will never bother us again. I will protect you," Yeolassured me and I cried until I fell asleep I his arms.
