Violet's PoV
"So you're the Ghost King?" Phos was just standing there, arms crossed, "Pretty unimpressive if you ask me."
Thalia was to the point of ignoring her, "Wow, Corpse Breath, you're old."
Nico rolled his eyes, "It's not my fault that you're immortal, Pinecone Face. Anyways, who are all of these kids?"
"Well you know about the district Thirty-Four incident," Thalia glanced at us.
Phos crossed her arms, "Would you two care to explain what the he-"
I cut her off, "Hades."
Phos just glared at me, "Shut up. As I was saying, what is district Thirty-Four?"
"It's a code, in the Hunger games District Three was for the smart people and Four was the fishing district, Annabeth is smart and Percy likes water," Thalia explained. "Now if you'd shut up that'd be nice."
Everyone smiled.
"Anyways," Paige was red from trying not to laugh. "They're Phos James, daughter of Apollo, Parker Stoll, legacy of Hermes-"
Nico looked at Thalia, he actually looked scared, "She doesn't mean-"
Thalia nodded, "Tratie's son."
"Does he-"
"Act like his dad? Yes, his twin sister helps, unless it involves flowers."
"So the camp has the Stolls?"
"Oh yeah. They also have Clairesee's son, Leo and some girl he met in high school's kids, they both act like Leo, Piper met an English dude and they moved there, but their kids come in the summer, not to mention all the gods' new kids." (A/N: For more on how Leo met his girl read Demigods in High School, it'll eventually be in there.)
Paige continued like none of that had happened, "James Thound, son of Apollo and I'm Paige Wynn, daughter of Athena, and retriever of Aphrodite's mirror, three times, along with James, of course"
Nico actually smiled a little, "Three times, huh?"
Paige sighed, "Yeah, she loses it a lot and, well..."
"They're camp losers, so we voted on them going," Phos grinned.
I was shocked, for once my friend didn't have a comeback. She simply looked down, ashamed.
I walked up to Paige, "If you're such a loser then why are you on this quest? Why would Chiron send you?"
Paige shrugged, but kept looking down.
Thalia walked over, "Percy was a loser when he showed up to camp, he still is one, in my eyes, but that's because he's my cousin, he only got his first quest because the gods demanded it and the second and third he only went on because he snuck out of camp."
"The camp just wanted to get rid of us, they thought a monster would get us or something."
"It's true," Phos seemed like she'd died and gone to Elysium. "Vivian told me all about it."
Thalia glared at Phos, "Paige, how old were you when you went on that quest?"
"Eight," I don't get how sh could be ashamed after saying that, but she was.
Thalia actually seemed surprised, "HOW IN HADES IS THAT LOSERISH?"
Jacob seemed to muster up his courage, "Thalia, loserish isn't a word..."
I smacked him upside the head, "Shut up, Jacob! Loserish is a word, and that's not the point anyways!"
Thalia snickered and Paige smiled, "Yeah, I guess you're right. It's just that six years of being teased by the older girls can get to a person, but I see now that I'm not a loser, Phos is, but I'm not."
That wiped the smile off Phos's makeup plastered face, "Did you just-"
Thalia cut her off by turning to Nico, "We called you here to help us find Percy and Annabeth, we were wondering if you could use your shadow travel to get the kids to them?"
"If I knew exactly where they were I may have enough energy to get them there, but I'd need an exact location, not to mention that I'd be less than useful in a fight, and I'd have no way of getting them out of there," Nico explained.
Thalia nodded, "I didn't think about that..."
Jacob stepped forward, "Let Violet and me think of a plan, we'll talk to you guys about it in the morning."
Thalia rolled her eyes, "Okay." She then turned to her hunters, "Set up camp, we're staying here for now."
The hunters all started setting up an extremely impressive camp. I was actually enjoying watching them when Parker walked over, "Hey, Jackson, what's up?"
"Just watching some girls set up a camp, need something, Stoll?" I'd say Parker and I had become close during this trip, we've teased each other almost non-stop throughout the trip, but he sounded like something was on his mind.
Parker started blushing, "Well- I just- well I was wondering-"
I tried comforting him by putting my hand on his shoulder, "Stoll, you look like you're going to be sick."
"Will you go out with me?" He seemed to mentally slap himself, then he started blushing, eventually turning red as the Ares cabin. I would have too, actually I think I may have...
I grabbed his hand and nodded, "Just don't tell Jacob, he'll try to give you the don't-hurt-my-sister-or-I-swear-to-all-the-gods-I'll-kill-you-talk."
He simply laughed, "Don't worry, I wasn't planning on it."
The next thing I knew the hunters had set up an awesome camp. Jacob called me into the tent that we staying in. Right before I walked in I turned back to Parker, "HAVE FUN WHEN YOU MEET MY PARENTS, I'M 95.8% SURE THEY WON'T KILL YOU!!!" Then I ran into the tent.
These girls had some serious wiziard/timelord technology, the tent was bigger on the inside with a small hearth, bathroom, and two bed rolls.
I sat on the bed roll across from Jacob, "Hey, Little Bro, you've been acting different latley. What happened to the kid who was constantly using his ninja moves to prank other kids or get on teachers nerves? The linebacker of the Goode Middle School varsity football team who was constantly hanging out with his buddies? The carefree boy that everyone went to to cheer up?"
Jacob sighed and sat across from me, "He's gone now, Violet, he died when Mom and Dad went missing, and our family still needed a steady head. I don't think he'll ever come back, he was dumb and immature, our family needs a level headed person."
"Jacob that's what Mom is for."
"She works all the time, she's kind of a big deal."
"What about dad?"
Jacob just stared at me until we started laughing, "The guy who let's us eat cookies for breakfast? Yeah that's level headed."
"Just remember you're only thirteen, you don't need to protect us," I lay down and tried falling asleep.
After a few minutes I guess Jacob thought I had fallen asleep because he muttered, "Yes I do, I still need to protect my family," then he was silent.
The world around me was white. Cold wind bit at my nose and ears. There were two people standing in front of me. One was a woman who had light skin, dark hair that was pulled into a bun, and dark brown eyes. She wore a white, ankle-length, chiton, a golden head piece, gold sandals, and was adorned in golden jewelry. Next to her was a girl, maybe twelve years old, with braided auburn hair, strange silver eyes, and a spray of freckles across her face. She wore a forest green, knee-length chiton, silver sandals, and a silver band on her brow. A silver quiver of arrows was slung across her back and she held a silver bow.
Both looked right at me, the older one spoke, "Hello, Violet, we have many things to discuss."
I nodded, "That's nice, but who are you?"
The older woman smiled, and I almost cried, I wasn't sure why until I realized it was my mom's smile. "Yes dear, I'm sure I have your mother's smile, I am the goddess of family."
I cocked my head, "So you're Hera? I get you're the goddess of family, but why would your smile remind me of my mom? She hates you."
The girl next to her laughed, "With good reason too, Hera caused your mother much grief."
Hera scowled, "I'm still the amazing, beautiful, all powerful, queen of the heavens, and a goddess and I deserve respect."
Artemis just ignored her, "Violet you have a choice to make, we can reveal the location of your parents, but with it will come a war full of tragedy, especially for you, you will experience heartbreak and much more."
"Or," Hera continued, "you can all go back to camp, the world will be enslaved, but you and your brothers will be safe. You can do whatever you want. We will give you time to think, see you in an hour."
I woke up in the tent with the sun shining on my face. The hunters had left me a hot breakfast and clean clothes, including a parka, I quickly changed then ate my breakfast. Hera had said, "You can do whatever you want," but she was wrong.
I can't be that selfish.
I think the goddesses knew about my choice because all of a sudden I knew where my parents were.
