You loved your twin cats, Hikaru and Kaoru. They could be a handful sometimes, but you still loved them.

Your dad had gotten them as a birthday present for you from his boss. They were the only two in their litter, and they caused too much trouble for their original owner to handle, so she gave them to your dad, who then gave them to you.

But the problem with the original owner was... She was rich. And she fed her cats fancy food that you couldn't really afford on your allowance. And fancy food was the only food the twins ate.

Hikaru was the slightly older of the two, and yet he was more childish. He also seemed to get jealous of any other male cats you played with- besides his brother- and the human males that would hang out with you. You couldn't really understand why he would get jealous of human males though, since he didn't seem to have a problem with your female friends...

Kaoru was the more affectionate of the two, always cuddling with you whenever he could. He was also always in Hikaru's shadow, following him on all his crazy kitty adventures. Kaoru didn't seem to mind your male friends most of the time... There were a few he would get mad at, mostly the ones you didn't like as well. But there was one boy you were close with both the twins seemed to love to torment.

Tamaki Suoh, third year in the academy you went to. Everyone loves him... even the people that claimed to hate him respected him. Tamaki would come to your house a lot, demanding you join his club and become the first 'open hostess'. Whatever that meant. But you would always decline the offer, and your cats would always try their best to make him fall or embarrass himself in some way. You almost felt sorry for your sempai. Almost.

"Okay, boys, c'mon, time for supper then off to bed with both of you." You called, setting the cat food on the floor. Both of them came running in and went straight for the food, but stopped as they noticed that it was regular canned meat instead of the expensive stuff. They sat down in front of the bowls and looked up at you with what seemed to be irritated looks. They were very expressive of their emotions...

"Don't you two give me that look...!" You scolded, "it's all I could afford this time. The prices went up even higher on cat food, and I had to buy a few other things as well. So that's all you're going to get until next time." You crossed your arms and went upstairs to your bathroom and started to get ready for bed.

Once you walked into your room in your nightgown, you smiled as you saw your boys in your bed and waiting for you. You climbed in with them and turned off your lamp. Before you could even settle into the bed, you felt Hikaru and Kaoru on either side of you. You fell asleep with a smile on your face.

And yet, you woke up in a panic.

As you slowly came out of your slumber, you felt warmer than normal. Did one of your parents turn off the AC?

As you tried to move around, you felt a part of arms tighten around your waist from either side. Arms that shouldn't be there...

You opened your eyes and came face to face with another face, a male face. You screamed and sat up, ripping yourself from his grasp and saw another male on the other side of your bed. Both of them woke up in a daze, rubbing their eyes.

"Hikaru... I told you she'd panic..." The boy on the left said.

"I didn't think she'd scream like that though... Good thing her parents aren't home." The boy on the right said.

They were identical in almost every way but the hair and voices. Their orange hair was parted opposite of each other, the one on the right lightly deeper than the one on the left, who's voice was higher and a little scratchier. Their golden cat-like eyes staring sleepily at you though, it seemed somewhat familiar...

"Wait..." Your own (e/c) eyes widened. "Did you say Hikaru...?"

Their tired eyes turned mischievous as they smirked at you. "Now she's catching on~."

"Hikaru and... Kaoru...?" you looked back and forth between them, then your eyes rolled back as you fainted.

'My cats... have human bodies...' You thought before everything went dark.
