Power of Stars
{I swear this is like the worst warrior cat fanfic I've ever made or tried to make.}
Prologue
A ginger cat crouched low in the swaying ferns. He steadied himself, and leaped. His claws closed on a squealing mouse, and he nipped it and it went limp.
"Firestar!" A voice called through the bushes.
"Wha is is it, Bramblestar?" Firestar sat up, mouse in his jaws.
"There's been something going on. Look!" Bramblestar gestured to a glistening pool. Cats fought. Yowls of pain sounded, and shrieks of terror flooded Firestar's ears. Blood pooled around the feet of fighting cats.
"What is this?" Firestar shuffled his paws, gazing at the dark tabby with doubt.
"It's the future if we do nothing. Firestar, this is huge. This could be another fire will save the Clan." Bramblestar joked at the end. He twitched his tail, awaiting an answer.
"Ok. What are we going to do about this?" Firestar flicked his ears.
"Well..." Bramblestar began.
"What did you do?" Firestar asked the guilty cat.
"There are five cats that may or may not have powers...?" Bramblestar took a few steps back.
"Bramblestar, for StarClan's sake! Fox dung! Really? There was already a prophecy like that a long time ago!" Firestar lashed his tail, ears pinned against his starry pelt.
"I asked Jayfeather, Dovewing, and Lionblaze! They were perfectly fine!" Bramblestar defended himself.
"Who are the cats?" Firestar asked, calming down.
"Well, look into the pool. From ThunderClan." Bramblestar flicked his tail back to the shiny pool, and a cat-like shape appeared. The small yellowish shape huddled in a corner.
"Why him?" Firestar was confused.
"You'll see!" Bramblestar prodded Firestar's flank. "I'm showing you the cats!"
"You annoy me sometimes." Firestar paced.
"Ok, from RiverClan." Bramblestar watched with the ginger leader as the pool rippled into a new cat shape. The cat ran through some scruffily undergrowth, her white pelt clearly visible.
"Ok." Firestar sat still once more.
"From ShadowClan." The pool rippled again, and a different shape appeared. Her pelt was an odd color, and Firestar watched as her claws scraped against the nose of a different cat. She walked away with her tail lashing, and muttering incoherent curses.
"Ok then...?" Firestar said, more of a question. "Last one WindClan, yes?" Bramblestar said nothing as the pool rippled into a kit batting a ball of moss.
"One more." Bramblestar mewed after a long, awkward silence. A new shape rippled into the starry pool. A dark kit was watching the stars, an expressionless face as she looked upward to Silverpelt.
"Five cats..." Firestar murmured.
"What should the prophecy be? Who should see it?" Bramblestar asked the wise ginger tom.
"Show it to the cats who are in it." Firestar answered.
"I will. Come on." Bramblestar beckoned. "I'm not leaving you out of this, Firestar!" The two toms padded forward, ready to deliver their message.
Chapter 1
A cat curled up with three others at the nook of their mother. The tree sheltering them from the harsh winds stood tall, and the four cats fell asleep.
Shadow blinked open her eyes. This isn't where home is. She thought suspiciously. She looked around, and spotted a ginger cat and a dark brown tabby cat coming up to her, their eyes glimmering with wisdom. The ginger one bowed his head.
"Shadow. You are involved in something huge." The tom mewed.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Shadow asked, looking around frantically.
"This is StarClan. My name is Firestar." The tom said. StarClan? Firestar? What is going on? Shadow thought. "I must tell you something."
"W- What?" Shadow stammered.
"Five shall go, Two shall die. But it's to save their Clans, With their powers of light. One shall lead, More power than stars, Soon four will see, Outsiders can aid wars. As the moon is halved, meet at the shore of the lake when the halved moon is high." Firestar mewed in a low tone. Shadow's eyes widened. Then all faded away into a never ending darkness.
Shadow blinked open her eyes. She saw River at her side, with Condor and Hazel. Her mother, Bear, blinked her eyes open as well as an early dawn light filtered through the leaves.
