Average {A Warrior Cats Fanfiction}
Description
Morningkit. Sounds like a hero, a hero to save the four Clans. Right? Wrong. Morningkit never gets prophecies. All she wants is to be the best warrior. Sure, she does things other cats have never done, but it could happen to anyone. Morningkit won't be the best hunter, or the best fighter, not even a medicine cat. But she will find a place for herself in her Clan, and watch the true hero unfold, and she'll find that she can be important, if she tries.
Prologue
Warm greenleaf winds blew over the pelts of cats. Soft murmurs echoed through the valley, a serious tone in the air.
"There is a new prophecy for the Clans," A tall dark brown tom mewed.
"Trouble is coming, yes, but surely a new prophecy won't help?" A silver she-cat paced, back and forth, her tail lashing as she spoke.
"They have worked in the past. They are a warning, to make sure our Clans are ready." A soft ginger she-cat flicked her tail at the silver cat.
"Cedarstar, just tell us the prophecy!" A small white tom hissed at cat who first broke the silence.
"Patience, Breezestar." Cedarstar gave the white tom a glare.
"The Clans must know the prophecy soon. If not, the dark times ahead will come early." The ginger she-cat nodded to Cedarstar.
"Thank you, Twilightstar. Any objections, Streamstar?" Cedarstar asked the silver cat. Streamstar shook her head. "Good. The spark of fire near the bracken will battle against blood to save those he loves." Cedarstar whispered.
"Tell this to Dappledstar, make sure of it." Twilightstar told the first CedarClan leader.
"I will. I will." Cedarstar whisked around, and padded to his own territory, knowing that night had fallen upon the Clans. Dappledstar would be dreaming, and Cedarstar would tell her the prophecy.
Chapter One
Morningkit leaped up, and batted the moss ball at Dawnkit. Duskkit leaped in from the side, keeping it away from Dawnkit. The kits played with the moss ball until Blazekit and Dovekit padded over.
"Can we play?" Dovekit mewed, her ears flicking. Morningkit was older than them, but kind. She opened her jaws to speak, but Dawnkit spoke.
"No. Go away." Dawnkit hissed.
"Be nice! They're only four moons old, and our apprentice ceremony is tomorrow at sunhigh. Let them play with us." Morningkit often spoke against Dawnkit's rude ways, but she loved her sister all the same. Blazekit bounded happily over, Dovekit following. Morningkit batted at the moss ball, and Blazekit leaped up to catch it. The kits tusseled, until Amberfur called Duskkit, Dawnkit, and Morningkit into the nursery for feeding.
