The Man and Woman Sin-New Living Translation
Verse 1
The serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild animals the LORD God had made. One day he asked the woman, "Did God really say you must not eat the fruit from any of the trees in the garden?"
My thoughts: Shrewdest is a different word. The other translations said that the serpent is the most crafty which isn't Grammarly correct. I like that in this one it says the shrewdest. Mean the same thing but less wordy.
Verses 2 and 3
"Of course we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden," the woman replied. "It's only the fruit from the tree in the middle of the garden that we are not allowed to eat. God said, 'You must not eat it or even touch it; if you do, you will die."
My thoughts: From the beginning, God was manipulating his creation by not being honest. I like how this translation is more like a real conversation between the woman and the serpent.

I don't believe in this creation story, but I would like to go to this museum because it seems really interesting and cool. Seems like there is Dinosaurs there too which is great. Maybe this museum could change my mind. I am open to changing my mind on anything and to admit that I am wrong about something. I am only just analyzing and deconstructing these translations of the Bible. Using my own thoughts and opinions as well historical facts and scientific facts that you can't deny isn't true.
Verses 4 and 5
"You won't die!" the serpent replied to the woman. "God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil."
My thoughts: God doesn't want you to know the truth and to be like Him. He wants you to blindly follow him and stay obedient. That's what I take out of this. This is how I feel about these verses.
Verses 6 and 7
The woman was convinced. She saw that the tree was beautiful, and its fruit looked delicious, and she wanted the wisdom it would give her. So, she took some of the fruit and ate it. Then she gave some to her husband, who was with her, and their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So, they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
My thoughts: Knowledge is power!
Verses 8 and 9
When the cool evening breezes were blowing, the man and his wife heard the LORD God walking about in the garden. So, they hid from the LORD God among the trees. Then the LORD God called to the man, "Where are you?"
My thoughts: This is awkward written, I feel. It is weird that the LORD God keeps referring to himself as the "LORD God" and not just God and it is weird that he has to ask "Where are you" to the man. Isn't he all seeing? Doesn't make sense to me.
Verses 10 and 11
He replied, "I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked."
"Who told you that you were naked?" the LORD God asked. "Have you eaten from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat?"
My thoughts: I love the written of the conversation between God and the man. Looks natural.
Verses 12-15
The man replied, "It was the woman you gave me who gave me the fruit, and I ate it."
Then the LORD God asked the woman, "What have you done?" "The serpent deceived me." she replied. "That's why I ate it."
Then the LORD God said to the serpent,
"Because you have done this, you are cursed more than all animals, domestic and wild.
You will crawl on your belly, groveling in the dust as long as you live.
And I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel."
My thoughts: I think Adam should take responsibility for his own actions. I think the only one in this story that is completely innocent was Eve. The serpent only spoke the truth but used that to cause the man and woman to "sin" and so they will fall from their beloved paradise and cursed all of mankind.

I used to love Bill Cosby until the sexual assault allegations came out. I didn't want to believe he could be that sick, but he is and now I found this video of him talking about how it's women's fault and he talks about Eve. Eve ate the apple and that's why women get pregnant. This isn't funny. He is a sexist pig and anyone who agrees with this are too. I look forward to being pregnant someday.
Verse 16 Then he said to the woman,
"I will sharpen the pain of your pregnancy, and in pain you will give birth. And you will desire to control your husband, but he will rule over you."
My thoughts: I notice two different things that wasn't in the other translations. The first is that the author actually uses the word "pregnancy", so God will make the woman's pregnancy painful, and she will give birth in pain. The second thing when mentioned how the woman will desire her husband, this translation said that she will desire to control him, but he will still rule over her. Whether you are a man or woman, no one should rule or control anyone.

Verses 17 and 18 And to the man he said,
"Since you listened to your wife and ate from the tree whose fruit I commanded you not to eat, the ground is cursed because of you. All your life you will struggle to scratch a living from it. It will grow thorns and thistles for you, though you will eat of its grains. By the sweat of your brow will you have food to eat until you return to the ground from whi8ch you were made. For you were made from dust, and to dust you will return."
