Why almost all OCs are dragon Master's and have a handful of dragons?

This has been in my mind ever since I started reading a lot of HTTYD fics.

As much as I want to say, it is literally almost like Valka's... Like come on! A dragon master, many dragon allies, and an own alpha. Tf is this?? This is literally too much when I read almost all of the fan fics with OCs have it.

Why can't there be just a regular dragon rider for a change?

Or a regular person?

And plus, there is only ONE alpha!! The Alpha is the King of all dragons and commonly there is only one king, am I right?

I'll consider the Dragon Master and the dragon allies, but please... don't put an Alpha as the leader. There is already a Dragon Master as a leader. I mean... It's cool and all. I don't mind.

A little reminder, I won't be updating stories till next month. There's a lot going on in real life and I need to study hard for my upcoming exams. Hence why this certain chapter is short. Don't worry the next one will be longer ;)
