Happy Independence Day

Since morning my mobile phone is flooding with the wishes of Independence Day. But I can't stop thinking that whether this independence really worth celebrating? Do we actually know the meaning of independence?

My school Principal used to say,"Independence means duty. Duty towards our nation."

And I agree with her. But I think in order to understand our duty towards our nation, we must understand the sacrifices that have been made in the past for our nation, our India. We must know about the achievements that has made India proud because of the never ending hardwork of few Indians.

To understand our duty towards our country, we must know about it first.
So, this Independence Day, let's test our knowledge about our country.

(Don't worry. These are just some basic General Knowledge Questions. Be honest to yourself and see how many you can answer. Answers will be displayed at night.)

Let's begin then!

1. What is India's national flower, national bird and national animal?

2. We know that India is the largest democracy in the world with the 2nd highest population. But do you know many States and Union Territories are there in India?

3. We all remember the photo of our Bapu on the currency notes, right? What is Mahatma Gandhi's full name?

4. "Independence is my birthright and I shall have it!"

10. Who is India's President currently?

So, how many did you know?

This was just the first step towards knowing something about our country. If you people like this, then we can, together, plan to hold such discussions once in a while.

And lastly, Happy Independence Day!
