MTM#XXXV: DINNER

THIRD PERSON'S POV

"Please don't make a scene today; I have football practice," Conan said, wiping his mouth with a tissue. The four of them had breakfast together, Ripple in her own room.

"Yes, I promise I won't," Hyra replied, eating heartily.

Viper smiled, pleased to see Hyra was easy to talk to now.

"Zeus, can you book a dinner reservation at an expensive restaurant? If Hyra behaves today, I'll take her on a date."

Hyra, Zeus, and Chris exchanged surprised glances.

"Is he serious?" Chris asked incredulously.

"Maybe I saved the world in my past life, that's why I'm being blessed like this now," Hyra said happily, chewing her food.

Zeus and Chris exchanged another look, wondering what had changed overnight to make these two act differently.

"Before I forget, Conan, I'm out of money," Hyra said, displaying her empty wallet.

"It's okay, just spend time with me. I'll cover the expenses," Conan assured her.

Chris paused with a bite halfway to his mouth, observing the exchange between them.

"If you two are going to flirt, do it somewhere that's not in front of food; it's disgusting," he grumbled.

No one responded, so the three men turned to Hyra, expecting a reaction. As expected, her face turned red, and she smiled like an idiot.

"Since Conan is busy with his game, Chris, keep an eye on Hyra," Zeus smirked.

"What? Are you serious?" Chris exclaimed.

Zeus nodded, causing Chris to run his hand through his hair in frustration. "What the hell did I do in my past life to deserve this punishment?"

"I promise to behave today, so you don't have to watch me anymore," Hyra said politely.

Chris sighed, resigned to his fate of keeping an eye on Hyra.

---

"Hey, good morning! How's your day going?" Hyra chirped, approaching a group of students.

"Oh, your hair looks great today!" she complimented another.

"Have you had breakfast yet? It's the most important meal!" she exclaimed to someone else.

Chris quickly covered Hyra's mouth and steered her away to a quieter spot with fewer people.

"You promised to behave just two hours ago, and you're already drawing attention," he scolded.

"Huh? Isn't this what normal students do?" Hyra retorted, rolling her eyes. She regretted agreeing to behave today; she hated restraining her natural impulses.

"Hyra, Chris, what are you doing here?" Sky's voice interrupted their conversation.

Hyra smirked mischievously at Chris, then turned to greet Sky enthusiastically.

"Sky!" She dashed over and latched onto his arm.

Chris clicked his tongue in irritation and was about to leave when Sky grabbed his arm.

"Why are you with Hyra?" Sky asked, his jaw tense.

"And who are you to question me?" Chris smiled coldly, shaking off Sky's grip. "I don't know you," he added, scanning Sky from head to toe before walking away.

"Is that all? I was hoping to see the two Salvadors go at it," Hyra mused. "Your cousin's rude; I'm glad you're not like him," she said to Sky with a wide grin.

"Are you close to him?" Sky asked, concern etched on his face.

"You're so kind," Hyra replied abruptly, hugging Sky. "It's a shame it benefits someone else," she added cryptically, holding him close. "The world needs more people like you."

"Can I ask you something?" Sky inquired softly, returning the hug. "Are you a good person or a bad person?"

"Good people can sacrifice themselves or others for the greater good, and I'm not like that," Hyra replied with a hint of mystery.

"Then are you bad?" Sky asked, nuzzling his face against Hyra's neck, which was filled with the warm scent of strawberry mint.

"If I were bad, I would've already killed you," she whispered, sending a shiver down Sky's spine. She patted his back reassuringly. "Don't worry about Chris; he's fine."

Sky's heart raced as Hyra's words lingered in the air. He could feel her warmth against him, her breath tickling his neck with the sweet scent of strawberry mint. For a moment, time seemed to stand still as they held each other, lost in the quiet intensity of the moment.

Hyra gently ran her fingers through Sky's hair, a small smile playing on her lips. "You know," she murmured softly, "despite everything, you're different. You make me feel... calm."

Sky closed his eyes, savoring the sensation of her touch. "I've never met anyone like you," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "You're unpredictable, but there's something about you..."

Hyra leaned back slightly, meeting Sky's gaze with a hint of mischief in her eyes. "You're intrigued by me, aren't you?" she teased, her fingers tracing a gentle path along his jawline.

Sky chuckled softly, his hand finding its way to the small of Hyra's back, drawing her closer. "Maybe," he admitted, his breath mingling with hers. "You're... captivating."

They stood there, caught in a silent exchange of unspoken words, the world around them fading into insignificance. For Hyra, it was a rare moment of vulnerability, allowing herself to be close to someone without the need for pretense or bravado.

"I should get going," Hyra finally said, reluctantly pulling away from Sky's embrace. She glanced around, noticing the curious glances of passing students. "But... thanks for being here."

Sky nodded, a smile tugging at his lips. "Anytime," he replied softly, watching as Hyra walked away, her figure disappearing into the crowd.

HYRA'S POV

Did I overdo it? I feel like I could win Best Actress at the Blue Dragon Awards with my talent.

"Excuse me, you're blocking my way," a girl bumped into me, causing me to stumble, but Sky caught me. I'm glad he's nearby.

If I remember correctly, this girl is one of Maniego's fiancee's friends. What's her name again?

"Hilary, did you see us talking?" Sky asked, thankful to Sky for letting me know her name.

"No, I didn't see anything," Hilary replied curtly.

She has an attitude.

Heeeeeeeeh?

I want to teach her a lesson, but I promised Conan I would behave today. Maybe another time.

"And why are you talking to a non-elite student?" Hilary added, looking between me and Sky.

"She's an important friend," Sky responded coldly to her. "Let's go."

Huh?

"Wait, where are you taking me?" Sky pulled me along without warning.

"The exams are coming up; you need to pass to regain your status as one of the Elite," he explained abruptly.

Exams?

Huhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?

Who said I wanted to go back to being elite? I see Chris all the time, even in class; he will make me show up.

"But I don't want to—"

"I'll give you money when you pass," Sky interrupted.

"Okay..."

"Pffft," he chuckled.

I just didn't want to argue with him anymore, so I agreed. Nothing more.

"Anyway, the Master is in a special room; just go."

"Huh? I thought—"

"I forgot I have a lot to do."

Forgot? What if he forgets the money he promised? I'll have to remind him every day.

"Go straight there. Bye," he said with a bitter smile.

Well, I don't care. I headed straight to the special room, hoping Carl wasn't there. That stalker hasn't stopped watching me yet.

I think he's in love with me.

*Eeeeeck*

"Who's tha— HYRA? What are you doing here?" Maniego greeted me, pulling me into a tight hug.

I can't breathe.

"I heard you're studying for the exams. I'd like to study too," I said with a smile.

If anyone from the White Monarchy heard this, they'd probably laugh.

"REALLY?"

But Maniego is different; he looks like a golden retriever with his tail wagging in excitement.

I entered the room and found it messy, with books and learning materials scattered everywhere.

Why is he so persistent when everyone is sure he won't lose his elite status?

"Is there a reason you're so determined?" I asked, sitting next to him.

"Yes, I want to beat Takashi. I know you know him, but I really want to beat him this time."

Conan Takashi?

I couldn't help but smile goofily, covering my mouth with my hand.

"It's fine if you want to beat him. I don't mind."

Do I really not care?

Of course, I don't care because he can't beat Conan.

I'm more concerned about his condition than Conan's outcome.

"Shall we start?"

THIRD PERSON'S POV

"What the heck! I'm starting to regret this," Sky muttered to himself.

"Salvador, what are you doing here?" Mr. Fonacier's voice interrupted his thoughts.

Sky flinched but quickly composed himself before facing Mr. Fonacier, who stood in front of him with a smile that seemed to hide deeper knowledge.

"Why didn't you go into the Special room?" Mr. Fonacier asked, pretending ignorance though he clearly knew everything happening within the Caribbean.

"I was reviewing for the—"

"Come with me," Mr. Fonacier cut him off, pulling Sky along as they entered the Special room.

"Sky, where have you been? You're late," Jared asked as they entered.

All thirteen elites were now gathered in the Special room.

"Why is everyone here?" Sky asked, clearly surprised.

"I'm here because of Nathan," Jarvis replied, nodding towards Nathan.

"Ice asked for my help," Nathan added, handing Sky a paper on the table. "It's Hyra's test; she scored zero in all subjects."

Sky pursed his lips, trying not to smile.

"That's why I plan to tutor her so she can pass the test and regain her elite status," Ice explained.

"I disagree!" Umber interjected, joined by the other female elites. "What about Claire? You can't just do this. Hyra deserves to be where she is now."

"Huh? And you think you deserve this?" Hyra's voice cut through the tension. "If it weren't for your life status, you'd be worse off than me. All you have is wealth; you have nothing else to be proud of. Meanwhile, I have eternal beauty, I'm quite smart, and I can surpass what you have." She delivered her words seriously, leaving everyone in the room momentarily stunned. "Haha! Just kidding," she laughed.

"Quite smart? Then why can't you answer what's 6 times 6?" Nathan retorted, his anger visible.

"And if you're such a hero, why didn't you save your only sister?" Hyra countered Nathan's question with another question, escalating the tension further.

The atmosphere became charged with animosity.

"Ahem!" Ice cleared his throat, trying to diffuse the situation. "Hyra, why don't we continue our review somewhere else? Afterwards, I'll cook dinner for you."

Ice's gentle tone caught Hyra's attention.

"You cook?" Hyra's demeanor softened, her playful side emerging.

"Not to brag, but I'm a good cook."

"I'd love to taste you— I mean, your cooking," Hyra corrected herself quickly.

Ice smiled and gently led Hyra out of the room, partly because he enjoyed her company and partly to ease Nathan's annoyance.

"Haha, you know everything she says is just a joke, right?" Jared interjected awkwardly, trying to lighten the mood with a forced laugh.

The atmosphere remained tense after Ice and Hyra departed.

"I really don't like her," Umber confessed, her voice nearly breaking.

"I think it's mutual; she doesn't like you either," Megumi replied calmly, glancing at the other elites. "Since Hyra's gone, I have no reason to stay. I only came because Master asked me to help teach Hyra, but it seems hopeless now." With that, she left.

"She's quite impatient," Krystal commented, shaking her head. She was about to follow Megumi out when she paused in front of Jared and gave him an encouraging thumbs-up.

NATHAN'S POV

She's so disrespectful. What kind of environment did she grow up in? I've tried searching, but I can't find anything. It's like looking for something that doesn't exist, trying to piece together her past after Dad and I left her.

"What if when you left Hyra, she fell into the hands of syndicates? That could explain her behavior," Jarvis speculated.

"Your imagination is too wild, Jarvis," I replied, skeptical.

"Not yet! I haven't even gotten to the part where she might have sold herself to a yakuza—" Jarvis's teasing was cut short when Jared kicked his chair, causing him to fall.

"Don't compare Hyra to your girls," Jared snapped.

Sometimes I feel like Jared knows more about Hyra than I do, her own older brother.

"Anyway, what kind of tutoring session will Master and Hyra have alone?" Jarvis persisted, clearly trying to stir up trouble.

Myself, Jared, Sky, and unexpectedly, Brizon and Cyrus, all exchanged glances.

"Whoa, settle down," Jarvis panicked, seeing our stares. "Except for Nathan, do you all have secret desires for Hyra?"

"I don't," Jared quickly denied.

"I do," Sky admitted without hesitation, much to the surprise of Cyrus and Brizon.

The conversation felt pointless, so I excused myself. What do they see in Hyra? She's eccentric, foul-mouthed, and hardly acts like a lady.

Hyra Demonise Fukushima, what happened to you in the past? You seem like a completely different person now.

Wait, did I expect her to still treat me the same after I left her when she needed me the most?

"You seem lost in thought, didn't even notice me passing by," a familiar voice interrupted.

"Dad," I greeted with a respectful nod.

"What's on your mind?"

"Hyra."

"Who's that?" Dad feigned ignorance.

"Dad, I know you know who I'm talking about," I insisted.

He removed his mask, his expression stern. I felt a chill run down my spine.

"If you don't want her to suffer even more, stay away from her."

Was he implying he would make Hyra suffer if I didn't comply?

"What kind of life did Hyra end up with after we left?"

"Who cares? To me, she's just trash. The life I dreamed of was ruined because of her. She's also the reason your mother is dead."

"Dad!" I shouted, my voice filled with anger. "She was young then, she didn't—"

"This conversation is over. You spend more time on useless things than helping capture Demon."

"This isn't useless," I argued.

"Kill Demon."

"Dad, we're talking about Hyra—"

"If you want to know everything, Demon must die first."

He left me standing there, speechless, as he disappeared into the darkness.

Demon, always Demon. How powerful is she? Why does even Dad seem afraid?

---

"Carl, what's the status of the war?" I approached Carl to get an update on the situation.

It's been a while since I've seen war firsthand.

"Our units haven't made any moves yet, but other organizations haven't stopped attacking Demon's territory," he informed me.

Those other organizations may only want Demon's territory, but they're helping weaken our enemy's forces.

"Prepare the first and second units," I ordered, surprising everyone with my directive. They were all taken aback. "I want them ready for a surprise visit."

HYRA'S POV

"WOW!"

"WOOOAH!"

"AMAZING!"

"UNBELIEVABLE!"

I couldn’t express my excitement at the amount of delicious food laid out in front of me. My mouth was already watering.

"I'm sorry this is all I can do," he said apologetically.

"No, this is too much," I replied.

"Then eat as much as you want," he smiled from ear to ear.

I think I over-complimented him. He looked like a golden retriever wagging his tail again.

"This is the happiest dinner I've ever had," I said. After all, who wouldn't be happy with a goddess at their dinner?

"Then I'll eat," I said eagerly and started eating. I was surprised when he suddenly came up behind me and tied my hair.

"I'll hold your hair so you can enjoy the food more," he said softly.

Suddenly, I felt a flutter in my stomach. It felt like cockroaches chasing each other. I need to see a specialist.

*BURP*

"Pfft— Rest first, I'll take care of the cleaning."

"Okay," I said, getting up and heading to the sofa to watch TV. I hoped there was news about me.

I was about to sit down when I felt someone staring at me, so I turned to him. He had a look of disbelief.

"WHAT?" I asked.

"Shouldn't you have said 'I'll help you' when I said I'll take care of the cleaning? That's what boyfriend and girlfriend do."

Huh?

What the heck? How do you wash dishes?

"I just got a manicure," I said, showing him my hands.

"It looks messy, who did it?"

"An important person," I replied.

THIRD PERSON'S POV

"HAHAHAHAHA, THAT'S FUNNY!"

Ice and Hyra were laughing happily while watching TV. They sat next to each other on the chair, Ice's hand wrapped around Hyra's waist.

They were so happy they didn't realize the time. It was already two o'clock in the morning.

"Why don't you just stay here? It's already late," Ice suggested.

Hyra was about to answer when she felt her phone vibrate. She picked it up and read the message from Zeus.

"How was your dinner with Conan? I'm sure you enjoyed the food; it's the most expensive restaurant in the country."

"Huh?" Hyra covered her face with her hand and started to smile. Ice seemed confused by her reaction, so he approached her and forced her to face him.

"Hy—" He took a step back when he heard Hyra's small giggle. That giggle turned into laughter.

"HAHAHAHAHAHA!" Her laugh was so terrifying you'd want to run away until you couldn't hear it anymore.

Then, she suddenly stopped laughing and faced Ice with a sad expression. "I need to go."

Ice couldn't stop Hyra from leaving because his brain still hadn't processed what had happened. When he finally came to, Hyra was no longer in front of him.

"That laugh is familiar," Ice whispered to himself.

Hyra arrived at the mansion at four in the morning, panting. The first thing she did was look for Conan.

"C-Conan?"

Conan, who was getting water from the fridge, turned to face Hyra in surprise.

"What's with your look?" Conan checked if Hyra had any scars but didn't see any.

"Dinner."

"Huh?"

"I'm sorry, I haven't been—"

"FUCK!" Hyra was startled by Conan's curse. "I forgot about dinner. Did you go? Did you wait?"

"You forgot?" Hyra felt a pang of pain.

"I'm too busy because we'll be fighting in a few days," Conan said excitedly. "But, did you wait?"

"Ah, n-no." Hyra couldn’t admit that she had also forgotten about their dinner because she was with Ice. She clenched her fist until her nails dug into her palm and bled. "I fell asleep and didn’t realize the time."

"Then there's nothing to worry about, we're fair."

"Ye-ah." Hyra looked away and saw the eggs behind Conan. "Are you going to cook?"

"I feel hungry. You, have you eaten yet?"

Hyra smiled and approached Conan. "I haven't eaten yet. To be honest, I'm very hungry. Can you cook for me too?"

"I will make two portions, one for you."

"That's better. I haven't eaten anything yet," Hyra lied. She had eaten the food that Ice cooked for her.

After an hour, Conan finally finished cooking. He placed the food he made in front of Hyra.

Ten sunny-side-up eggs.

Ten scrambled eggs.

And ten boiled eggs.

"I will shut down all the egg sellers," Hyra muttered to herself, trying to smile normally. Her stomach churned at the sight of so many eggs on the table. "Conan, next time I want a house without a kitchen," Hyra said before starting to eat. At the first bite, she could taste the intense saltiness. She couldn't understand the flavors—some eggs were salty, some sour, some sweet, some spicy, and some tasteless.

"How does it taste?" Conan asked.

"Good," Hyra answered quickly, though in her mind she wanted to feed all of it to Conan. "You are a muscular man, handsome, filthy rich, and have a strong sex appeal, but I am begging you, stay away from the kitchen," she thought, but didn’t have the courage to say it out loud.

"You don't need to eat more if you're full," Conan smiled, then started washing the plates.

"It was a great meal," Hyra said, standing up to help Conan.

"You don't have to do that."

"No, this is what married couples do normally."

"You need to rest; you have class tomorrow, right?" Conan suddenly changed the topic.

"I'll just sleep in class," Hyra said proudly.

They washed the dishes in silence.

"You need to rest now. I will not attend class tomorrow," Conan said as they walked towards Hyra's room. "I heard that your brother will make a surprise visit during the war," he added.

"Is that so? Then teach him a lesson. He's underestimating my unit."

"I won't do that. He's still your brother."

"BUT—"

"We're here at your room. Go in and rest. I enjoyed being with you."

"We are meant for each other. We both forgot about dinner," Hyra said with a sweet smile. "Goodnight."

Conan smiled back and ruffled Hyra's hair. "Sweet dreams."

"You too."

"I love you, Conan."

Conan responded by kissing Hyra's forehead. "Aren't you going to say 'I love you too, Hyra'?"

"I'll answer that if you don't have another man besides me."

"But I don't have another man."

"Pffft—goodnight."

Conan closed the door of Hyra's room.

"Huh? Bastard," Hyra's smile disappeared as she opened a bottle of wine and drank it quickly.

Meanwhile, Conan took out his phone and called someone. Less than three seconds later, they answered.

"Sir, about the reservation—"

"Cancel it," Conan responded coldly.

"But sir, everything is ready."

"I will pay all the expenses. Just cancel the reservation. My date got seriously ill," Conan rolled his eyes and hung up.

Inside Hyra's room, she was just looking at her phone, which was constantly receiving messages, while she drank her wine.

"Such a fool," she cursed under her breath and sipped the wine again.

"You've been looking forward to this opportunity for a long time, but I didn't expect you to just waste it," Zeus said, coming in with a towel. "It's good to sleep after a fresh shower."

"Good idea."

Hyra stood up and took off her clothes, leaving only her underwear. She went straight to the bathroom while Zeus prepared the bathtub for her to soak.

"Were you with Ice so you forgot about your dinner with Conan?" Zeus asked as he massaged Hyra's scalp.

"Please, let's not talk about that anymore."

"That reservation was worth over 3 million."

"WHAT?" Hyra stood up.

"Please sit down. Did you forget you were naked?" Zeus said, bowing his head to avoid looking at her.

"Oh, but it's you, so I don't have a problem. You can see my bo—OUCH!" Zeus' hand quickly landed on Hyra's head. He hit her without looking. "Stop hitting me. Who will like me if I'm stupid?" Hyra hissed.

"Please sit down," Zeus said, begging while still looking away. He looked exhausted dealing with Hyra. "Conan is the most important chess piece of yours. You can't succeed without him."

"Conan can't leave me. I'm his obsession, have you forgotten?" Hyra rolled her eyes. "When the one he's obsessed with gets hurt, everything in the underground will be destroyed," Hyra seemed excited. She was thrilled by the image of Conan crushing everyone in the underground.

"Don't take him for granted," Zeus warned.

"I won't. He’s mine, and I’ll make sure he knows it," Hyra said, her eyes gleaming with determination.

"My lord, what are you doing here?" the Lieutenant asked, startled.

"Pull the first and second units back," Conan commanded, putting on his mask and transforming into Viper. He retrieved a boomerang from its hiding place. "I'll take care of everything."

"But—" The Lieutenant stopped when he noticed Viper's intimidating aura. "Do as you wish, my lord."

Viper smirked and headed to the heart of the battle where their first and second units were slowly retreating. His smirk was unnatural and sent shivers down everyone's spine.

"Impressive, Nathan. You also have something up your sleeve," Viper said as he looked to the center where Nathan was.

"Viper, so you're here," Nathan whispered, pointing the gun he was holding at Viper. "Carl, can you hear me? If yes, I order you to withdraw the unit here."

"What the heck are you trying to do?" Carl asked in surprise.

"I'm just going to play."

"With whom?"

"Viper."

"Fu—"

Carl couldn't finish as Viper quickly moved in front of Nathan and kicked the cellphone out of his hand.

"Focus on me," Viper whispered, attacking Nathan again.

"Is this all you can do?" Nathan asked, looking unimpressed as he dodged Viper's attacks. He raised his fist and aimed it at Viper, believing that if it hit, Viper would lose consciousness.

As fast as lightning, Nathan threw his fist hard at Viper's face, but Viper didn't move. Instead, he smiled.

"What do you plan to do, tickle me?" Nathan's eyes widened, and he tried to move away, but Viper quickly grabbed his leg and threw him against the wall. Not satisfied, Viper rushed at Nathan and kicked him in the face. Nathan didn't have time to react when Viper appeared in front of him again. "Are you insulting me? You're going to fight me one-on-one while you're this weak?"

"No, I'm just letting you hit me so I can measure your strength," Nathan smirked and, without a second thought, maneuvered behind Viper and tried to strangle him. He planned to remove Viper's mask to see who he really was, but before Nathan could grab the mask, Viper dodged and used his head as a weapon, striking Nathan's face.

"But I'm not even using half a percent of my strength, and you seem to be struggling." Viper stretched his neck, then jumped up and down to loosen his body. "The difference between our strengths is crystal clear. You still have a long way to go to catch up with me."

"Why does he have such strength?" Nathan asked himself while wiping blood from his mouth.

"As long as you're weak, you're no match for me. Come back and fight me if you think you can surpass me." Viper yawned and looked at Nathan with disinterest. "If you can't handle me, how can you deal with Demon?"

Nathan was too annoyed to respond but knew he couldn't do anything. He would be doomed if he tried to fight Viper again.

Nathan's ability was less than half of Viper's, and he knew it. The gap between them was enormous.

"Go back to your den and tell everyone they need intense training to overcome me." Viper stared at Nathan intensely. "Honestly, I want to kill you right now, but I remembered you're an important piece in her game."

"What do you think of us? Pieces in your game?"

"Yes," Viper answered without hesitation. "So while I'm still being nice, go and take all the units you have. I still need to finish off the rest," he said, referring to the other organizations that had joined the war.

In the blink of an eye, Viper disappeared in front of Nathan and began killing various opponents with his boomerang. No one could get within three meters of him; they all died.

NATHAN'S POV

What crazy scenario am I watching?

Boomerang? He only uses a fucking boomerang.

I wasn't the one he was attacking, but I couldn't move from where I stood. It was as if I had lost all my strength.

I shouldn't feel this way, but his moves in battle are amazing.

What he said was true—none of the thirteen leaders could fight him. He will devour us because he is at the top of the food chain.

We trained for years to become leaders, but it seems we are still very weak compared to him. What kind of training did he undergo, and who taught him? As far as I know, we have the best mentors.

As I watched him, I was filled with wonder and worry—wonder because of his fine movements and worry because he might use that fierceness on one of us. Ice can't fight him.

"This is boring. I want a strong opponent."

Swishhhhh.

Wind?

"Hi, so you're still here?" I stepped back. What the fuck! What is he doing in front of me? Just now he was in the middle, killing his enemies. "You're weak but not as weak as those idiots, so wanna fight me?" He looked excited.

For the first time in my life, I felt such intense goosebumps. Now that he is in front of me.

After finishing off his hundreds of opponents, he was still not satisfied. The man in front of me now is a real lunatic.

"Bastard—Aackkkkk!"

His reflexes were so fast that he immediately blocked my blow. Now he was holding my neck tightly.

I felt my feet lift off the ground, and I struggled to breathe.

"Leave while you still have a chance because if she catches you here, it will be your last day on Earth."

My back hit the cold steel, and I coughed up blood, almost losing consciousness from the force of the blow.

She? Is he referring to Demon?

"Where are you?" He was talking on the phone while removing his blood-stained coat. "Get here quickly and take your friend to the hospital before he bleeds out," he said coldly, putting down his phone and sitting in front of me, resting his head on his palm. "Don't you notice the continuous flow of blood from your head?"

I held my head and only then realized how much blood there was.

"Don't worry, I called someone to take you to the hospital. Your fate is in his hands. If he gets here quickly, you'll live, but if he's not here within an hour, you'll die of blood loss. I'll watch you until that happens."

Who the heck did he call?

---

Minutes passed, and my breathing became more and more difficult. I just lay on the floor, watching the ceiling, while he sat beside me, watching me too. Blood continued to flow from my head.

I don't remember where I got this wound, but I'm sure Viper did it.

"Viper!"

"You surprised me. I didn't think you could get here so fast."

Who has come?

I can't turn around, and my vision is getting too blurry to see who it is.

But the voice is familiar.

"Luckily, I was nearby."

"I would like to talk to you, but it seems your friend is dying."

Friend?

"I'll take care of him," I felt my back lift. "You're lucky he didn't kill you," the voice whispered to me. I felt an impact on the back of my head until everything went dark.
