After several intense hours driving sebastian saw the bright lights of New York before him has he drove. Rachel had fallen asleep in the back of the car.

Thad had taken turns with him to drive but was now also asleep in the front passenger seat.

Sebastian wondered what they were going to do now he thought of what they might yet discover about Rachel. He knew her own dad willing let her marry a murderer what kind of father does that.

Sebastian shook Thad awake as they neared Thad's apartment building.

" wow we actually made it" Thad said sleepily.

" yeah" sebastian said he was tired yet he doubted he would be getting much sleep he knew hunter wasnt going to let go without a fight and he knew he was dangerous.

" we best wake her up " Thad said nodding towards Rachel as sebastian parked the car in Thad allocated parking spot.

" mo she needs to sleep I will carry her up you get her things" sebastian said.

Sebastian carefully got Rachel out of the back seat she didnt even stir as he carried into the lobby of the apartment building.

Thad was carrying her bags and they made their way to the elevator.

Once I side Thad apartment sebastian gently placed Rachel on the couch while he and Thad went and got their belongings from the care.

Finally everything was in the apartment sebastian sat down in a chair near the couch where Rachel remained asleep, Thad poured them both a scotch before sitting down in the chair opposite him.

" I know Rachel might not want to know her dads full involvement but we need to know to keep her safe" Thad said sebastian nodded before looking at Rachel she looked so peaceful so delicate she didnt deserve any of this.

" I know we do and we need to get to the bottom of it quickly because dont think for a moment that just because we got her out of westerville that hunter wont try to find us" sebastian said.

" he is crazy" Thad said

" yeah he is but do you know what's even more worrying" sebastian asked Thad shook his head

" he is smart he is clever and he knows it" sebastian said.

" your smarter than him" Thad said.

" not really he knows I'm from New York chances are he will come we should have gone somewhere else" sebastian said.

" it's a big city it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack" Thad said.

" maybe but I still don't like those odds" sebastian said glancing at Rachel who had just let out a sigh in her sleep.

" we can always go somewhere else but for now we need to sleep a d to think about what to do" Thad said.

" yeah" sebastian said draining his scotch.

Meanwhile

Hunter woke up his eyes still groggy he rubbed his eyelids his eyes still closed his throat was burning and his head was pounding.

He opened his eyes to be met with pitch black he sat up so dering what had happened. He sleepily reached to switch on a lamp and shen he illuminated the room he started to realise something was wrong.

He saw the plate of cookies that Rachel had made on the coffee table he saw two wine glasses but no Rachel.

He was confused Rachel had come for them to talk and he knew he hadn't drank enough to fall asleep.

He start there coming round from his groggy state when he looked out of the window at sebastian Smyth's house he got a bad feeling he jumped up.

Sebastian's house was in total darkness and while it was three am had knew it wasnt because they were asleep. He ran around the house and saw Rachel's clothes were gone and an anger fi.led him like nothing he had experienced before.

Did smythe honestly think he would let him take her let him destroy him no hunter wasnt goi g to allow that to happen.

He poured himself a drink of water as reality hit him... the cookies he had being drugged which could only mean one thing his Rachel wanted to be with smythe she was working with him to leave him. Did she think she could do that and get away with it.

Hunter's mind was made up smythe wasnt goingnto have Rachel no way but hunter did t want her back now not after she had betrayed him. No Rachel would have to go he thought and smythe too.
