Chapter 10

You woke up, hair stuck to the side of your mouth, drool on your pillow, blankets all in a bunch. You had NOT slept well that night. Nightmares of your mom getting run over by a herd of huskies  with Santa in  a sled  going "Ho, Ho,  Ho! Welcome to Alaska!!!" crowded your mind. (A/N: Mommy got run over by some huskies! Reader: Shut up! I want to know what's happening with Freddy, my true love. Author: Fine, fine. We'll get back to the story.)

You rolled over and looked at your phone, it was Monday. The weekend had gone by too fast. You had spent most of it in a daze, eating little, sleeping even less. But now it was time to force yourself out of bed and to school. At least you would see Freddy and your friends.

"Freddy," that was a name that could perk you up no matter how depressed you were feeling. That is, if he was still talking to you. You had gotten your phone back, but you weren't sure exactly what to text him, so you just decided you would explain to him at school why you had to miss your date.

You decided to shoot him a text. It said:

                                          hey Freddy :)

can i talk to you this morning? i can explain about friday night and all.

You went through your usual morning routine, grabbed a banana and your backpack, and walked out the door to school. While walking, you glanced at your phone to see if Freddy had read your text and responded, but all it said was "Read at 6:58."

You frowned. It was almost 7:40 now. Freddy had never left you on read for more than 20 minutes, or even 20 seconds for that matter. Well maybe he started talking to Billy about superheroes, or maybe he started helping Darla with something, it didn't mean he was just ignoring you...right?

             ***Time Skip to School***

You were immediately tackled with a big from Andi once you walked into the school. "How are you feeling? Oh Y/N I can only imagine how hurt you're probably feeling right now! I'm so so sorry about you're mom! I was really hoping she was on her last assignment last time," Andi exclaimed.

You smiled weakly, "Yeah, me too. But she isn't, and there is literally nothing I can do about it."

(A/N: Reader: aww poor me. my life sucks in this. Me: It will get better! And HEY! You just got an Andi hug! She looks like such a good hugger to me, I'm jelly.)

At that moment, you saw Freddy from down the hall. "Oh but here's something to brighten my mood a little," you said cheering up instantly just at the sight of him. But when you caught his eye and waved, he just scowled and stumbled, rather quickly, down the hall. Ok...so maybe he was mad at you, but it was nothing you couldn't fix. This was something you could focus on fixing to distract you from your mom's leaving.

So you spent the rest of the day smiling, waving at, and trying to approach him, but to no luck. He just walked the other direction when he saw you. Once, you saw him almost smile and act like he was going to approach you, before getting a look of realization on his face and walking away. You were about to give up, when you saw another person you were hoping to see at he end of the hallway. It was Pedro. You smiled, he had probably just gotten out of his math class and you wanted to see how he was doing. You were surprised to find these last couple days you were missing out tutoring sessions with him. He was pretty fun to be around when he wasn't being intimidating. You waved, "Hi Big P!" while walking towards him.

He looked at you, looked around, and then walked swiftly towards you. "He-"you started.

"Why did you ditch my brother at the movies?" Pedro asked inquisitively.

"It was an accident! I-I didn't mean too. I really like Freddy and I would never show him up but I forgot I had this dinner date with my dad and I wanted to text Freddy I couldn't make it but he brewers took my phone and threw it on the concrete and then it broke and i had to take to Verizon but it would take a day for it to be fixed and the big news my dad just had to tell me is that my mom is going to Alaska for two years on a military job and-" you rushed out, "I...I'm sorry. 'm so so sorry. Could you please tell him that? He hates me," you sniffled, and suddenly realized you're face was wet.

Pedro blinked, and then awkwardly patted your back. "Sure... And for the record my brother defiantly doesn't hate you. He likes you. A LOT. you're all he ever talks about, well besides superheroes and random facts...But Y/N? There was something else I wanted-no needed- to tell you..." Pedro twisted his hands nervously.

"Wh-what is it?" you asked tilting your head to the side.

"I...I failed my math test on purpose," Pedro admitted.

A/N: dun, dun, dun! Lol sorry for the mean ending but I have to go! I will fix it with Freddy AND Pedro in the next chapter, which will probably be put Saturday but no promises. If everything goes as planned, there will be two chapters left of this book and it will be finished on Saturday :)

Love you all! Sorry the update took so long, I have had SO much homework lately.
