"T-that's the address, I swear!" The delivery driver said between sobs. Yun lazily leaned on his staff, that dug deeper into the driver's gut.
"One more thing," Yun said, grabbing the driver's collar, "I hope you don't mind me taking your clothes, will you?"
***
"French toast and no coffee?" Yamato asked.
"I apologize." Moroyama said.
"Never mind, I'm sure they have coffee around here somewhere."
Ace held onto Amon's sleeve, wondering why the fell asleep so early. He remembered eating dinner at around 6 pm, then nothing. He and Amon normally went to bed at around 8 pm.
Amon was still groggy. "My head hurts."
"They got food." Ace explained. "So it should be ok."
"Oh. Where's sheep?"
"It's in your hood. I got it, now."
Amon giggled and took his sheep toy and held it up.
"You silly sheep," he said, "you don't belong in my hood."
Ace smiled and rubbed his eyes, but before he knew it, Yamato sat down above them, sipping his coffee.
"You two seem sleepy still," he said, "but you went to bed so early."
"You woke me up." Ace mumbled.
"I want to eat hot food when it gets here!" Amon added.
As if on cue, the doorbell rang. Yamato hopped up and jogged to the door, making sure he looked presentable enough before opening the door only for a slim figure to rush in. Fortunately, Moroyama was there to immediately pull the attacker away.
"Where are they?" A crooked voice asked. Yamato only knew that voice as
"Tang Yun?" Yamato asked, shooting up and running to the boys. "You finally decided to pick up something other than being strange?"
"I hoped you did the same," Yun said, looking at the kids with a smile, "are those my brother's kids?"
Moroyama unsheathed his sword and brought it to Yun's neck.
"Who are you?" Yun asked, unimpressed.
"I am Moroyama," he said, "I am Yamato's family defender."
"Wow," Yun laughed, "so, Yamato, you're either lazy or you've grown weak?"
"Neither! I've just got to keep this trust I've made with the Union."
Moroyama pushed his sword deeper into Yun's neck, to the point that blood was beginning to spill. Yun had enough.
He swung around as a shadow clone popped out and deflected Moroyama's sword. The clone was very quickly taken down, but Yun was already on the move again as he swung his staff at Moroyama's wrist. Unfortunately for him, Yun missed by an inch as Moroyama dodged. A snake suddenly shot up at Yun's legs and opened its mouth to reveal huge teeth, ready to strike. Yun quickly sunk into the shadows and popped out in the kitchen, where he quickly grabbed any knife he could find and start throwing them out.
Meanwhile, Yamato slid Ace and Amon behind an armchair in the living room.
"My, what a crude approach," Yamato said coldly, "how did you even get in?"
"Like," as Yun said this, he once again slunk into the shadows and popped out by Yamato, "this."
He attempted to drill a knife into Yamato's side, but the older was quick to pull away and kick Yun down. Yun didn't stay done for long, though, as he pushed himself up with his staff and attacked Moroyama, who was also lunging at Yun. Sparks were created when their weapons collided, one hopping just above the armchair that Ace and Amon coward behind.
Amon wanted to scream, but he instead covered his mouth to muffle the panic that he forced in his throat. Ace held onto him tight, shaking like a rattler.
Amon looked around, hoping something would pop out to help him, but all he saw was the couch, the balcony behind it.
The balcony!
The apartment they lived in was the second floor. That balcony was just above some bushes, so their fall wouldn't be so bad.
"Fall?" Ace whispered in a panic. "We can't just jump out! We'll get hurt!"
"It's the best bet we got!" Amon whispered back. "You stay here, I'll go get the doors open."
Ace tried to argue but Amon was already crawling to the balcony doors. He got to the couch and hid behind it, peeking out to check on Ace and the fight. He was confused why the person named "Yun" was missing until he felt himself getting roughly pulled up as by the hair as he was forced face to face with Yun.
"Look at that gorgeous red hair," Yun said in a way that make Amon shiver, "it's such a shame you have Yuuhime's eyes."
Amon screamed. Yun took annoyance to this and threw him against the wall, attempting to snatch him back up when Moroyama tackled Yun to the ground. Yun wiggled against him, who was very heavy and also he who had sent a snake to bite into his shoulder to hold him into place. Moroyama held up his sword, ready to strike Yun dead when he was suddenly stopped by a huge man.
"Gaius!" Ace yelled happily.
Gaius glared at Yamato, who simply glared back.

"Tang Yun!" Raven said without any emotion, though those close to her would know that she was actually very angry, she was just in work mode.
Yun was strapped to a chair, one bright light on him in an otherwise dark room so his shadow hopping trick wouldn't work as well. Though, none of this seemed to bother him, as he smiled at Raven in a sickening way.
"How did you get in the Union bounds?" She asked.
"Easy," he said, "I've trained intensively and extensively for a long time to hone my Esper abilities. I've been able to discover new powers as I've grown stronger."
"New Esper powers?"
"Yes, like those the gods use in legends."
"You sure were eager to open up...what are you planning?"
Yun simply gave a smile as he leaned his head back.
"Answer my question!"
"It's not just my plan, at least this time."
Raven remembered what Chu Yao had said when she saw him last. "One child is nothing in the face of the world!"
"What do you want with them?" Raven asked, clutching her elbows inward.
"Them? You mean those kids? I thought Chu Yao told you."
"I just wanted to hear it from you."
"From me? You know how to make a guy feel special." Yun smirked as he watched Raven's body begin to tense more and more. "Fine then, I'll say it. We wanna dissect those kids, limb from limb, brain to heart."
"Take him away."
"Hey, hey!" Yun now began to struggle, feeling the hands of unknown Espers grab and pull him up. "I've just told you what the higher-ups told me!"
"You don't seem to want to be imprisoned." Raven said coldly. Yun nodded quickly.
"Well, then...take him away faster."
Yun growled but was shot with blinding lights at all angles, any shadow he tried to escape in was quickly taken away by the lights.
"I know where they're keeping my brother and Yuuhime!" He said loudly. "I'll direct you, just don't put me back in that place again!"
Raven paused, watching Yun get dragged away before saying, "Wait. Let him speak."
"I know the secret location," Yun said again, "I know the ins and outs."
"And how do we trust you won't lead us into a trap?"
"You don't trust me but you trust Yamato?"
"This isn't about Yamato. Tell me why I should trust you."
"It's somewhere you know." Yun confessed. "You'd know it really well, I know it."
Raven rubbed her temples while he spoke, but did begin to consider his proposal. She hardly trusted him, but any lead was a lead.
...besides, beating him up didn't sound so bad if he was lying.
"Tell me," Raven said, walking over to Yun and standing over him, "where is it?"
***
The van bumped against the rocky ground. Heading to the Underground Miracle was always like this, but an air of anxiety stuck to all that made their way there.
All but Yun. He smiled at his reflection as Raven drove by on her motorcycle.
Heng Yue drove. She had agreed to come along, to be at least one doctor if anything went awry. Yun Chuan sat next to her on the driver's side. Gaius and Falken sat by Yun, keeping hawk eyes on him. Even further back, Union Espers littered the back. In even more vans that drove towards the Underground Miracle, even more Espers waited nervously to get out and search for their lost friends and comrades.
Yamato and Moroyama had come, too, but not with the main group. In fact, they shouldn't have even came. But there they were, far behind the rest in Yamato's favorite car. Ace and Amon were fast asleep I'm the back. Yamato was glad he'd tested that drug on them with the tomato soup, as it seemed to work wonders on them.
"See, I'm not leaving their side," Yamato has explained, "so it's ok."
Moroyama had simply nodded along.
"Here we are." Yun murmured, pointing to a large rock that was strangely oval shaped. Each van stopped, and everyone hopped out to the oval rock that was very quickly opened by simply smashing it, revealing a tunnel.
"Get ready for hoards," Raven said to everyone around her. From what Yun had said, this base was guarded to high hell. No where was lonely, no where was untouched.
Raven grabbed Yun roughly by the scruff and held him to the tunnel.
"Lead the way."
***
"Aunt Lynn?" Blanche asked. Lynn smiled at the girl and gave her a big hug.
"Blanche, sweetie," Lynn said quietly, "keep your voice down. Everything will be ok."
Burns lined her skin like an illness, and she had blood pouring from scratches all around her body. Blanche stared wide eyed as screams from outside their hiding place could be heard.
"What's going on?" She asked quietly.
"You don't even worry, baby. Everything will be ok, ok?"
***
Fighting broke loose very quickly. Ling was glad as many Espers were taken, as Yun was certainly not lying about the amount of Shadow Guards that inhabited this base.
Lewis swung and took out some guards as Ling covered his back, taking out several that lunged at him. Eventually, they were given a breather, with help from others around them.
"These are cells," Lewis realized.
"How you know that?" Ling asked.
"Look in here, it's definitely a cell, chains and all. They're very fortified, too."
"Then Xuan must be here somewhere!" Ling said, shooting his head out to look down the hallway. "Yuuhime too!"
"Raven!" Lewis turned to her, who still held Yun by the scruff.
"Well?" She asked Yun, who pointed onward.
***
Djoser felt his legs being chopped at like they were mere vegetables and not flesh and bone. Every chop, he let himself scream. He hoped his screams would drown out Lynn and Blanche long enough for them to get the hell out of there.
"Keep going until he's dead." Yamato commanded Moroyama. He held the twins in his arms, covering their faces as he turned to search the area for anything else.
He had previously burnt a woman with pointed ears, though she had now run away. He didn't care, though, as long as he could get revenge on these monsters for taking his dear sister and brother-in-law.
***
"He's in this one." Yun said, pointing to a door. Ling looked in and saw Xuan in chains and a heap.
"Xuan!" He yelled. "Tang Xuan!"
"How do we open this door?" Raven asked Yun.
"Passcode," Yun said, "I don't know it."
"I'm doing to smash this door open!" Ling yelled, already going ham on it.
"Where's Yuuhime?" Raven asked Yun.
"In that one." He once again pointed.
***
Cricket ran into Blanche and Lynn as she ran away from the fighting.
"Help me!" She cried. Lynn scooped Cricket up and hugged her.
"I want Yoofshee!" Was all she could say.
"Let's just drag her to the cars," Blanche said quickly, "and hopefully we'll find him on the way."
"Good thinking," Lynn breathed, too tired to even think of something else. She was about to keep going when she saw Hall stumbling over, looking dazed.
"Hall, are you ok?!" She asked, helping him stand.
"I don't know where I am," Hall said, "I'm so dizzy, I fell down from somewhere high I think."
"We're close to the garage. I'm going to gather as many people as I can to escape."
"It's just the Union, it's not like they'll kill anyone. Me falling was a fluke."
"No, someone else came," Lynn shuddered, feeling the burns more than ever, "the Twilight Order."
***
Raven knew something fishy was up. The moment Yun didn't lie about which cells held Xuan and Yuuhime was the moment she knew something was wrong.
She was right when a stench that could only be described as death was released when the door to Xuan's cell opened.
Ling panicked, grabbing Xuan and checking his pulse.
"He's still alive!" He gasped. "But barely!"
"Get Heng Yue," Raven said, "or someone, anyone!"
"Yuuhime is worse!" Lewis reported, "but she's still alive, too!"
Raven glared at Yun, who simply smiled up at her.
"What a blast that was to do, hm?" Yun purred. "I don't think I've ever been more happy!"
Raven threw him to the ground and gave him a good punch, then another, and another, until his face was bloody.
***
Bonnie screamed Bloody Mary as she was shocked to the ground. Yamato stood over her, a lazy expression on his face.
"I swear, Moroyama takes forever." He grumbled, kicking Bonnie to the side.
Djoser was the first person he saw. Lynn, the second, and Bonnie, the third.
He wanted them all dead.
"Yamato, the bull man is dead."
"It's boss." Yamato turned to Moroyama, who was bloody from his feet to his knees. "Hurry and finish this gi-god damnit!"
Bonnie had successfully crawled away. Yamato scowled, readjusting the kids in his arms before turning to Moroyama.
"While I do enjoy torture, we must be swifter about it."
"I understand."
"Good!"
***
"Xie Chuyi!" Cricket yelled upon seeing him.
"Have any of you seen Xie Yuzhi?" He asked breathlessly.
"No," Lynn admitted, "but-"
"...what happened to you?" Chuyi asked, looking at her with wide eyes.
"Where are all the cars?" Lynn asked.
"I don't know! When I got here, they were all gone."
A stack of boxes suddenly fell over, their contents cascading all over the floor as the loud crashing echoed in the empty lot.
***
Yun lay still on the ground. Raven shook with anger, wiping her bloody hands on her pants without thinking.
A hand found its way to her shoulder. Looking over, she saw Heng Yue, her brow furrowed.
"They're going to be ok." Yue said gently. Raven nodded, her eyes wandering to where Xuan and Yuuhime lay.
"We have to go now." Raven said. "They're not safe as long as they're here."
As if on command, Lewis slung Yuuhime over his shoulder and Ling swung Xuan over his.
They all cleared out, far enough away to not see Yun slowly get up. He wiped his face before sinking into the shadows with a smile.
***
Yuzhi lay in his brother's arms, wiping away the blood all over his face.
"Are you sure this isn't your's?" Chuyi asked once again.
"Y-yeah," Yuzhi mumbled, "I'm not sure that its owner is still recognizable, though..."
"What do you mean?" Hall asked quietly, knowing what the answer would be just by the strong scent of death that lingered.
"Uday, she's..."
"It's the Twilight Order's fault," Lynn said in a hushed voice, "we have to leave, right now."
"Some lady came in and made all the cars leave with just a flick of her wrist." Yuzhi said. "She was the one who got to Uday!"
"Is she...gone?"
Yuzhi's eyes fluttered shut as he rubbed them harshly. "Yeah."
***
Yamato and Yun were once again standing against each other.
"Take them," Yamato said as he handed Moroyama the kids before turning back to Yun. "I have business I want to finish."
"I'll be more than happen to humor you." Yun said with a grin.
"You act like I've nothing more than a fly."
"There's nothing more I've wanted than to kill you."
"I do think that's a lie, you wanted to kill your twin for years."
"That dream has already come true."
***
"Why are they getting worse?!" Ling yelled at everyone and no one.
"Hold still!"
"We need more hands over here!"
"We are NOT going to lose them!"
***
"There's a van out there!" Cricket yelled.
"Wait!" Yuzhi shook his head. "What about everyone else?"
"We don't have time to go back," Lynn said, "we just have to hope everyone can take care of themselves."
Ophelia flashed in her mind. She could take care of herself. She could. She could.
Djoser's screams flashed in her mind. Could Ophelia really...
"It's now or never!" Chuyi hissed, "we won't stay alone for long if that lady Yuzhi encountered is here still."
Lynn room a shaky breath and nodded.
Hall grabbed Yuzhi as they ran towards their escape.
***
Flashes of lighting and the crumbling of walls engulfed the battlefield of Yun and Yamato.
"Tell me you lie!" Yamato screamed. "You are nothing but a clown!"
"I'm not lying!" Yun laughed. "I can redo my life with those kids! I just need to swap their eyes!"
"What in the bloody lots of hells are you talking about? You can't swap people's eyes!"
"I will! I'll redo my life!"
Yamato launched himself at Yun, sending electricity in every which way. Yun dodged it all, making his way behind Yamato for a head shot. Yamato grabbed him and set off a shock as powerful as he could muster only to realize that this Yun was nothing more than a shadow clone.
Moroyama now had to deal with Yun. Er, many Yun's. Shadow clones upon shadow clones that looked just like Yun surrounded him. The shadow clones went down easily with just one slash, but protecting Ace and Amon like Yamato had wished him to do while fighting was no easy task.
Lighting popped the shadow clones away as Yamato searched for the real Yun.
"Where is he?!" Yamato shrieked like a vulture.
His question was quickly answered as arms grabbed the children from the shadows and pulled them away.
***
The engine of the van rumbled alive. Chuyi clutched the wheel, thankful that whoever had driven this van before him was just as short as he.
Lynn hugged Blanche closely, stroking her hair.
"Where's mom?" Blanche suddenly asked.
"She knows how to fight to protect herself." Lynn said quietly.
"It's Mateo!" Yuzhi yelled, pointing out. Mateo ran out, waving the van over. Chuyi maneuvered the car over as Lynn opened the door to grab him.
She would have made it if she had reached out just a second earlier. Watching blue chains fly out every which way into Mateo's body, Blanche had to shut the door before anything more than blood got in.
Lynn let out a scream once she registered what happened.
"Is Mateo ok?" Hall asked. "I couldn't hear what..."
Lynn covered her face. She had tried to stay calm, but they were gone.
Who knows who else the Twilight Order got?
"Just keep driving," Chuyi told himself, choking back fear, "just keep driving."
