Chapter 1: Auntie Li Guang

"Come out, you two." Xuan said, peeking into their room. "Auntie's here."

"Yay! Li Guang!" Amon cheered, rushing out, Ace following.

"There you are!" Li Guang said, rubbing the kids' heads. "How have you kiddos been?"

"Tell us about your adventures!" Amon cheered.

"Be polite, Amon." Yuuhime said, sitting down with Xuan.

"Aw, it's fine!" Li Guang said, sitting down across from Yuuhime. "Kiddo's just excitable."

"How have you been?" Xuan asked.

"Busy, but I've had a good time." She said, smiling.

"Good, good."

"Now, who's ready for a story!" Li Guang asked, rubbing her hands together.

"Me!" Ace and Amon yelled.

Yuuhime smiled. She remembered the day Li Guang found out about the twins. It was a good thing she found out, too, since she seemed to like them just as much as they did.

Nine years ago

"Yuuhime! Hi!" Li Guang yelled, hugging Yuuhime. Yuuhime hugged back, a big smile on her face.

"Hi, Li Guang!" Yuuhime said excitedly.

"I didn't think I'd see you here. What are you doing at the hospital wing?"

"I'm having some stomach cramps. What are you doing here?"

"Haha, I just need to grab some meds. Hey, let's go in together!"

Yuuhime nodded slightly. Xuan waited by the entrance, looking very nervous. "Stomach pains" was a bit of an understatement. With a bit of suspicion, Yuuhime took a pregnancy test the night before, and lo and behold, it was positive. Freaked out, but also so extraordinary excited, they rushed to the medical wing to get a confirmation. Yuuhime had insisted they not tell anyone the real reason until it was confirmed that the test was correct.

"Prescription for Li Guang?" The red head asked the person at the medicine counter. Yuuhime and Xuan slipped away, stepping into one of the clean and white rooms. Clara welcomed them, becoming Yuuhime to lay on the light blue chair.

"Are you ok with lifting up your shirt?" She asked.

"Yes." Yuuhime said, slipping her shirt just above her stomach. Clara lightly cleaned her stomach, talking her through the procedure.

"I'm going to need to scan around your whole stomach. Normally, the ultrasound we use is less intense, but thanks to the information you've given me, I'll need to use a more intense ultrasound. It won't hurt you, and any potential unborn children in your body, so you don't need to worry."

Yuuhime nodded along, subconsciously grabbing Xuan's fingers and rubbing them.

"Remember, if there is a fetal mass in your body, this may halt your and Tang Xuan's work in the Union," Clara warned her, "unless you wish to get rid of the baby through the options we provide."

"I understand." Yuuhime said. She and Xuan had often talked about what they would do if they did have kids. At first, Xuan didn't like the idea; he worried it would interfere with his work at the Union. She also was against the idea, fearing the Union might look down on them. Pregnancy complications also filled their minds, since both were Espers and they had no idea how pregnancy would affect her.

Over time, though, they warmed up to the idea of children. The first Esper, in 2029, got pregnant. Unfortunately, her child did not make it, but that was only because of her smoking problem, not anything to do with her body itself.

This gave them hole. So finally, the two agreed to attempt to have children. She had actually suspected she was pregnant for a whole month now, but she really couldn't be sure.

Yuuhime didn't realize how nerve-racking this would actually be, though. As Clara scanned her stomach, her grip on Xuan tightened.

"If it does turn out you are pregnant," Xuan had told her as they left their house, "and you change your mind, I'll respect your decisions all the way."

"Really?" She had asked.

"Of course! I'd love to have kids, I really do, but if you get too scared, or too stressed, or anything else, I'd rather you be happy than you trying to make me happy over some cells in your stomach."

She smiled and kissed his hand.

"Well, would you look at that." Clara said, pulling her attention back.

"Yeah?" Yuuhime asked.

"You're pregnant alright." She smiled.

Her face brightened up. She lifted herself up and hugged Xuan, who hugged back.

"I'm so happy, I could-I could-" Yuuhime said, her face so bright and joyful.

"What's the gender?" Xuan asked.

"Let me see...boy, and another boy."

"Eh?"

The two of them sat outside the medical wing. Yuuhume was still stunned at the revelation, unable to blink. Xuan stared at the ultrasound in awe, a smile on his face.

"I wonder how they'll look?" He said.

"Clara said one is developing a tail." Yuuhime said, rubbing her eyes.

"Are you ok?"

"I'm just...shocked? No, no, I'm so happy, I'm just happy shocked."

"You said you wanted only two kids."

"Yeah, I did. No more trying, then."

He chuckled, rubbing her hair. "Whatever you wish, my princess."

"I wish one was a girl, but oh well."

"Yeah."

"Hey, what did you look like as a baby?" She asked.

"Have I not shown you myself as a kid?"

"You have, but I mean baby baby."

"My parents probably have some old pictures."

"We should swing around their place and tell them."

"You sure? This is really early into your pregnancy. You never know what could happen."

"People wait to tell others?"

"Yeah, I guess it's a personal thing."

"What's a personal thing?" Li Guang asked, popping out of no where, causing Xuan to drop the ultrasound pictures.

"Li Guang!?" Yuuhime gasped.

"Oops, sorry!" Li Guang picked up the pictures. "You dropped these...ultrasounds?"

It took her a minute to register, but when she did, her jaw dropped.

"You guys had sex!"

"..." Yuuhime stared at her.

"...is that really what you're worried about?" Xuan said, taking the pictures from her.

"You guys are gonna have mini you's now!" She squealed, jumping up and down.

"Keep it down," Yuuhime pleaded, "this is brand new information."

"Sorry, sorry!" Li Guang said, covering her mouth. "This is just so exciting. How are you gonna tell people?"

Yuuhime and Xuan looked at each other. How were they going to tell people?

"We actually don't know yet." Xuan admitted.

"You guys should have a party," She suggested, "or you could send out cards!"

"We'll think about it." Yuuhime said. "We should go now."

Xuan agreed, and Li Guang waved at them goodbye.

Present

"...and so I slashed that tree down and saved the whole village!" Li Guang announced. The kids giddily cheered, clapping and laughing.

"That was quite the story!" Yuuhime said. She noticed Xuan had left in the middle of the story to take a call, which worried her.

Li Guang got a call, too. Upon finishing, her communicator began to ring.

"Lemmie take this." Li Guang said, standing up to go elsewhere. When she left, Xuan returned, his brow furrowed with worry. He looked like he wanted to talk.

"You kids play here," Yuuhime said, "me and dad have to talk."

The kids nodded and their parents left.

"Come on," Amom whispered, "let's listen!"

"No way," Ace mumbled, "you can do that by yourself."

Amon huffed but still snuck over to his parents, listening from behind a wall.

"How urgent?" His mom asked.

"Very," His dad replied, "we have to leave soon."

"What about the kids?"

"They can stay home alone."

"They're nine!"

"There's nothing else we can do, unless we-"

"We are NOT getting my brother involved in this! He can stay away, and the kids can stay home alone."

He sighed and nodded, turning to walk back. Amon hurried back to Ace, who looked at him, worried.

"What's with the look?"

"I-"

"We need to talk, boys." Xuan said. Li Guang walked in, heard this, and shrugged.

"I'll just go-"

The doorbell rang. Loud and ominous, Ace and Amon looked at each other.

"Were you expecting someone else?" Yuuhime asked Xuan, who shook his head. He got up and slowly walked to the door, walking over the cranky floorboards and past the old dying flowers they hadn't yet thrown out. It made Amon shiver. He reached out and touched the cold doorknob and creaked the door open a smidge. Ace held his breath.

"No one's here," he announced, "probably just a doorbell ditcher."

He went to close the door, but a hand shot through and forced the door open. Startled, Xuan jumped back and held his staff out.

A man's glowing eyes entered into the room, his thin lips a smile as he walked in. He clicked his tongue as he examined Xuan, then Li Guang, then Yuuhime, then landing his attention on the twins.

"It's so good to see you all again!" He said happily, clasping his hands together.

"What. Are. You. Doing. Here." Xuan hissed.

"Can't I meet my nephews? Just look at those cuties, how could I not want to come?"

"Get OUT!" Yuuhime growled, scooping the twins into her arms.

"Mom, who is that?" Ace whispered, trembling.

Yuuhime sighed, trying to decide if the headache was worth it. She knew they'd keep asking until she blew up, so might as well bite the bullet.

"Ace, Amon, this is Yamato...your uncle."
