Hey, It's Me Janki !
JANKI'S POV
"Okay. Move a little come on" I spoke resting the calf muscle of patient with my arm.
"I'm afraid" The patient replied
"Why fear when Janki is here. Come on. Move a little. We've been exercising since last three weeks. It'll for sure move. Come on. " I encouraged when the patient nodded and tried moving the limb which was jammed after an injury.
"Yes, just a little straight. We'll not give force to it. But just calm yourself. You see, even if a toe moves that'll mean we can expect full recovery. Come on" I added and he nodded trying again.
And in third attempt it happened.
And toes moved.
The limb showed movement.
"This.. This moved" The mother of the patient spoke and the I looked at her.
The happiness people carry when their loved ones shows signs of recovery is sight that gives peace.
"Told you. Just Will power has to be strong" I said smiling.
"You're really amazing. I'm so happy that I took the decision to come to you" The patient thanked
"It's my duty. And well, you pay me hefty for the same" I joked and they chuckled .
As I came out of the therepy room into my cabin and sat on my chair, I took out the patient's file.
"So, feeling better? " I asked and he nodded as the staff helped him to sit back on his wheel chair.
"Now the exercises need to be continued. That'll be done right? " I questioned raising my brow.
"I'll take care of them" His mom assured and I smiled
Though, I myself never could do any single exercise, I encourage people for that!
Heads of to me!
"Great. One of my junior will come everyday as usual for the exercises. No excuses for them. No skipping them. Other then that, any problem, you can contact me" I guided and they nodded leaving my cabin.
After they left, I saw some more patients and left for home.
As I went inside and was about to put my feet in, I stumbled with my another feet and well..
"Ah ouch" I whined falling on the floor when mom looked at me from the couch.
She didn't even move a limb to come and help me.
How mean!!
Sweetheart, we're here talking about you!
You the one, who falls every next minute and well your body is now prone to these small falls.
You can also just fall off and die sub conscious!!
"Very well. Now you won't even come to pick me up" I frowned
"You keep falling here and there Janki. How many times? " She asked, more mocked and I huffed standing up on my own knowing, she was right .
"God, I need a big fall so that my mom have some sympathy on me" I spoke dramatically and she raised her brow.
"Done? Or you wanna fill stomach with nonsense only" She asked and I grinned as I thought of food.
Well food is what we live for!
No Janki! Food is on what we live!
I live for food! Baat khatam (over)
"Where's bhai & bhabhi. It's already half past nine " I asked
"Haven't come from office till now. It's last date of financial year so work load is more" Mom told
"Yeah. CAs in house. And their income tax dates " I said and she chuckled
"I'm hungry Mom. What's in the dinner" I asked
"Change and freshen up. It's your favorite" She told and I grinned
That meant cauliflower. I don't know why people don't like cauliflower.
I toh, Love it!!
"I'll be back in five" I said running towards stairs.
"Slow Janki. This time if you fall, I'll slap you" She warned and I yelled a yes and went to room.
Slap me! What am I ? Four year !!
After changing into my night suit and freshening up, I took my tab and went downstairs.
"Keep that aside" Dad's voice came as he sat on his chair.
"I haven't checked mails" I said
"After Dinner Janki" He told and I pouted yet nodded and had my dinner.
"How's work going on" Dad asked
"It's good." I replied
"Mom told you are not taking psychology cases " He asked
"Yeah actually. It takes a lot of time dad. I need a holiday before I take cases" I said and he sighed
"Typical Janki and her ' I need a holiday' cry" Mom chuckled and I shrugged
"I was serious" I pouted
"Really. You visited Manali just in start of this year" Mom said
"Yes so..It was long before. And It's May now" I told
"It's just five months" She narrowed her eyes at me when I pouted again.
"Freaking five months. And you say it just. Oh man! I'm hurt" I dramatically said when my parents sighed
"Drama Queen" Dad mumbled
"Because you bear my tantrums" I grinned and he chuckled
"Yes because you're my Princess" He replied and I smiled.
"How about Ladakh this time" I asked
"Eat Janki and stop talking so much" Mom scolded when I stuffed some more food in my mouth.
"Or else Turkey" I grinned when mom smacked my head from behind lightly.
"Ouch" I whined but knew it as a sign of stopping my non sense and eat properly.
After we had our dinner, I turned on my tab and went through my mails.
Almost all of them were from patient reviews, hospitals and all.
But then one mail caught my attention.
DR. B. R Nema.
The person who taught me to succeed this good at my work.
Honestly I was proud of myself. At the age of 26 I was under top ten Physiotherapists and top five child psychologists in world.
And the one who always pushed me to do better and better was Nema sir.
He was my inspiration as well as my guide.
I clicked on the mail and read it.
Evening wishes Dr. Singh.
This mail has been sent to you by Nema Clinics on the behalf of Dr. B. R Nema personally.
Sir wants to meet you regarding a case urgently. Kindly schedule your time between 5-6 pm tomorrow for the same.
I looked at it and my eyebrows furrowed.
And I replied to the mail informing that I would be there tomorrow.
After a while, I went to my room and listening to some music, I drifted into sleep.
Next day, as I woke up I got ready and left for my hospital.
As I went to my cabin, the receptionist handed me the case files.
And I got busy with my work.
It was 4:30 pm when I completed one of the patient's physio and left for Dr. Nema's clinic.
As I reached there, I was greeted by his secretary who took me to sir's cabin.
"Good evening sir" I wished at the old man.
"Oh, Good evening Janki. How are you" He asked gesturing me to take a seat and I did the same.
"I'm good sir. How are you? How's health" I questioned
"All fit and fine in front of you" He said and I nodded
"How's work? I heard you recently got awarded. I couldn't attend the function though" He asked and I smiled nodding.
"Work's doing great. Sometimes cases are bit tacky but manageable." I told
"You're making this old man proud. A lot of times I give your example to doctors here." He said
"Oh you're making me fly in the sky now sir" I chuckled joined by him.
"Always fly in the sky Janki but.. " He spoke and I smiled
"Keep your feet on the land." I completed and he nodded
"You're my only student who remembers exact what this old man used to say" He said
"No everyone gives you life lessons with work" I replied
"By work I remembered, What about psychology. Still seeing patients" He asked
"Not really sir. Managing two departments at the same time is tough. The patient uptake increases. And then, I can't manage sessions" I told and he hummed thinking something.
"What happened sir? " I asked
"Janki, I called you today here for a very important work" He said and I sat upright nodding at him.
"I've a case for you" He added
"Sure sir how can I help you" I asked
"The case is diplegic kid. Accidental case. Age 6 years. Accident happened 6 years ago. It's a rare case" He told
"Six years of accident. Treating now? " I asked
"No. Treatments aren't working at it's potential" He told
"But sir, why you want me to see that case. I mean, why not you yourself. There's no one better then you at physio" I asked and he smiled
"You're good at it. More then me." He said
"What no sir." I mumbled
"Janki. The kid is in mental trauma too. Doesn't go to school. And specially isn't willing to go through the process of physiotherepy too. And we all know if mind doesn't allow.. " He spoke
"Body doesn't react" I completed and he nodded
"And I can't find anyone better then you for both the works at the same time" He said
"Am, okay sir. But... Who's the patient?" I asked
"Her name is Megha Kumari Rathore" Sir said
"Am okay! " I said when he may be read the confusion on my face hence spoke.
"Ever heard of Rana Pratap Singh Rathore" Sir asked and I looked at him shocked.
"King Of Udaipur" I whispered
"It's his grand daughter" He said and I just looked at him.
Family Of The Royals!!
Ugh, No!!!!
