Just a Little Fling, Right?
As the seasons passed, and the moon changed its phases, Casey grew fonder of Elise, their nightly Skype calls lasted until the wee hours of the morning, until the sun awoke from its deep slumber. The spark that Elise and Casey had was one that no telenovela star has ever experienced. Casey always ended her calls to Elise with a little "I love you" yet, Elise never said it back. Once school started, they stopped talking, the spark between them slowly faded away, there was no more connection between them, and knowing that Casey was the hopeless romantic, she thought that Elise was the love of her life, but Elise forgot about her. Every effort that Casey made to talk to Elise was useless, as she never responded. Casey began to wonder weather Elise was okay, because she still had a little place in her heart for that little fling over the summer. She later saw on Elise's Instagram that she now had a boyfriend, who knew that one little picture could break her heart into microscopic shards. Casey knew she had to stay strong, maybe find someone else to crush on. But there was that automatic reminder in her brain that she could never be strong enough to get over Elise, how beautiful her brown eyes looked like in the sunbeams, or how her masses of curls would look after a swim in the pool.
So Casey fell into a downward spiral of sadness, and it involved binge eating a mixture of healthy food, and not-so-healthy food, luckily, she had 3 days until she had to get her shit together and look alive again. Over the three days of binge watching and eating to her heart's desire, she got her act together and by the end of the week, there was not one thought about Elise. She had finally moved on.
Elise on the other hand, was doing just fine. She had a boyfriend, who was dreamier than Jack Falahee. She had completely forgotten about that fling she had over the summer with...what's her name? Started with a C...? Yeah, her thoughts were completely void of any summer talk. She got the occasional message from one of her summer flings, and never really bothered to answer any of them. Even though some things she sent were really funny.
So, this is how it ends, one brokenhearted girl, trying to slowly repair herself, and a careless girl, who forgot what happened over the summer in a snap.
The End.
