Chapter 7

~Lucy's P.O.V.~

Natsu was calmly talking to Wendy when he just went berserk.  "Who's there?!" he screamed to nobody.  His eyes turned from a deep brown to a shady gray, creeping me out.

"N-Natsu?" I stuttered, trying to get his attention, but he didn't hear me.  "And what's that?!" he yelled.

"Lucy, help me pin him down!" Jessie yelled.  I was hesitant to, but I agreed and held down his left arm while Jessie pinned his right.  Natsu tried to squirm free of our grip.

"Let me go!" he growled at us.

"No, just calm down Natsu!" yelled Jessie.  Suddenly fire started to surround Natsu hand, which was starting to burn my arm.

"Natsu, stop!" I shouted, getting very scared.  Just then, Wendy came up to him and performed a calming spell.  Natsu stopped struggling, and his eyes turned back to brown.  Jessie and I let go when he slumped into a deep sleep.

        "Thanks Wendy," panted Jessie.

"No problem," she smiled weakly.  Her eyes widened when she looked at me.  "Lucy.." she whispered.  I looked down at my right arm.  It was scorched, leaving a big black burn on my skin.  I hadn't noticed it until now, and it stared started to hurt like crazy.

"I-it hurts!" I said as tears started to sting my eyes.  I never thought Natsu would ever hurt me...

"It's alright, here." Jessie gathered some water in her hands, and it started to glow a crystal blue.  She then placed her hands on my burn, making me slightly wince, but the pain almost immediately went away.

"Thanks," I sighed.  I glanced over at Natsu.  "What happened to him?" I asked.  It was Jessie's turn to sigh.

"I don't really know, but I sensed a dark presence, yet I didn't see anything here," she answered.  "We'll just have to ask Natsu about it, but in the meantime, have you read anything about the village in the book Porlyusica gave us?"  I shook my head.

        "I didn't read it yet.." I admitted.

"Then that is the next thing we should do.  Where is it?"

"It's right here," I took the book from the chair I placed it on when we got back.

"Well, shall we?" said Jessie as she took it from me and placed it on a table.  Me and Wendy stood by her as she carefully opened the dusty book.

(Natsu's dream)

~Natsu's P.O.V.~

I was laying on a field of grass, looking up into the sky.  I was holding something.  It felt like...a crumpled piece of paper?  The blue cat was next to me, looking at me with a worried expression.  "Natsu, what are we doing here?" he asked.  I closed my eyes.

"You can leave if you want Happy, I'm just here thinking about...something," I replied.

"Like what?" he asked, starting to get curious.  I could feel my cheeks starting to turn red.

"N-nothing special.." I stuttered.  Happy started to look at me with a mischievous smile.

"You're in looooove with somebody?" he asked, rolling his tongue.  My face grew redder.

        "N-no I'm not!" I said.

"Is that piece of paper you're holding a confession note?" he snickered.  I thought my face couldn't get redder, but I was wrong.

"N-no!" I stammered and stood up, brushing off the grass on my black waistcoat.  All of a sudden, anger built up in me and I yelled, "Why don't you just leave me alone!" Happy was surprised when I yelled, heck, even I was surprised.

"S-sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you.." he whimpered quietly.  Feeling guilty, I sighed and petted his head.

"I know, I'm just feeling..on the edge these past couple of days," I apologized.  "C'mon, let's go back to the guild and find a job!"

"Aye!" he beamed, back to his cheerful self.  He followed me as I walked back to the guild.  I can't shake the feeling that I'm forgetting something...something important....  I shake my head.  It's probably nothing.

(End of Natsu's dream)
